This is part of a segment that I’ll try to bring about on a semi-regular occurrence where I’ll recap the major events on the forum so that players can quickly catch up if they’ve missed time or if they have been too lazy to read everything. Additionally this serves as a good guide for newcomers to catch up on recent events so they can feel more integrated with the events on the forum. The events listed and described here occurred over the season of winter, and in no particular order. I try to feature posts that have the involvement of more players.

I have decided to omit news posts, although in the future I’d like to find a way to reward the best news post with recognition. It is worth noting that there are several storylines being developed via the news, notably in Sylvania with their . Additionally, there are some good story driven posts, but they haven’t completed yet. I won’t feature these until it is better understood how they connect. I’ve tried to include only the most interesting and engaging events that have been finalized or are the very least understandable in how they relate to the forum, but if you feel something is missing, feel free to suggest its addition.

Everything is linked, and to make this clear all links are underlined.

In Autumnal Melancholia, a new balance of power is struck between Gallo-Germanian powers with influence now clearly being centered further west in Gallia, and being the final nail in the coffin of what was previously a Trier centered continent. This RP ends a war between Serenierre and Occitania, noted for its chemical warfare and brutality, and culminating in a widely recognized peace between the two with the division of Occitania into East and West. The peace set the stage for Gallo-Germanian tension to develop in the Retalian Sea. (See: )

In Lions, Leopards, and Donkeys, the Civil War in Loago is described with divisions between Communists, former Colonial powers, and native Himyari nations. Recently Post-Delegationists have arrived to offer seasoning on a conflict which has spanned the larger part of a year. Recent developments have shown the removal of colonial Caledonia from any position of strength, and the growth in importance of neighboring Azraq and Natal. Despite these changes, gains have mostly been seen by the Communist LLC. The RP is still ongoing. (See: )

This Great Southern Kingdom of Justosia came as a great commotion, building carriers and disrupting international affairs. Their presence solidified the Long Sea as persona non grata to hostile powers such as Justosia by the Aurarians and the Pelasgians (although this dynamic was blown to pieces later) by another event. Their aggression would push the Natalian minds to the brink, destroy Jysk-Austwegian harmony, create a general sense of paranoia among Communists, and engage the Tiburan Catholic Church. There are several threads to look back upon in this era which began in winter, but ultimately faded away by January.
See:

The World Permanent Conference (WPC) is launched in the Two Kingdoms of Jyskerige-Østveg as a public forum for all nations to bargain, discuss, and engage in diplomacy. While the WPC is not initially very successful, it has provided itself as a place where nations have engaged in diplomatic conflict over the World Zionist Congress, and their legitimacy. Additionally, the forum has been used to attack the Pelasgians over their views on the Jewish people, and their support of terrorism in Loago. (See: & )

Notable for being the first major Shadows forum RP, a mysterious submarine voyages into the Retalian Sea with a nefarious mission that becomes disturbed by unforeseen events. Here, a second mysterious submarine sinks a Serenien freighter, and the presence of “pirates” results in action by the Eiffelloretalian Navy and a Pohjanmaan submarine! The events put peace between the Retalian Sea nations on edge, and spawn the militarization of the Retalian and Long Seas under the pretext of stopping piracy. (See: )

Again, if you feel I missed something important, feel free to list it yourself with a short summary and the subsequent links. If you feel I should do this more regularly than by the seasons, feel free to leave comments on that too. More regular summaries would allow far more event posts to be featured, including smaller ones. I’ll finish this post by leaving the best or maybe a random Twatter post of the winter.

Autumnal Melancholia is not really a closed RP in my eyes. That thread continues to show the post-war situation in Occitania and the changes that are taking place in Serenierre following the end of the war. But other than that, good summary.

Ah, it had been quiet for awhile and it seemed like most of the participants had moved on, but I can remove that last bit if you think there is still more RP to be had there.

Just the active hostilities and tensions seem to be over not the reconstruction and the reorientation within Serenierre. The Melancholia is really what does one do when one has neutralised the threats which have plagued on for decades?
