War on sugar by the Lars executive. The government has introduced a new tax of 15% for soft drinks containing high concentrations of sugar. The new law is part of the measures proposed by the Independent group to combat obesity and only recently the Conservative group has decided to support the position of its government ally despite being reluctant to increase taxes on companies. The president of the independent group said that this measure is an investment and that it will save money for the health care system in the future.

The Grand Duchy of Lars appears to be in proportion to its population the country that spends the most on national defense facing the long sea.
A trend that in recent years has been growing more and more. Attracting nations ready to sell every kind of weapon to a country that constantly feels under threat from larger neighbors. The Prime Minister's government was in turn the promoter of a highly controversial policy of arms purchases, which eventually turned into friendships. The airline, Lairs, through its spokesman said it was in favor of treating a purchasebye KLM of its own fleet and flying rights on routes within the grand-ducal airspace. The national civil aviation authority said that a possible purchase of Lairs would still be in respect of the free market. Some observers have however shown the possibility that the government intervenes in extremis to nationalize the national airline. Rumors denied by the same government that said it was against the use of public funds to save companies that are no longer capable of producing profits.

However, Lars remains one of the most visited tourist destinations in the world, especially for its Tiburan artistic heritage and most tourists choose the plane as a means of transport.

The national airline has numerous hangars and remittances in the international Pisa hub which it used as the main headquarters of its fleet. Now the entire real estate portfolio is likely to return to the hands of the state if a buyer does not come soon.

Activated for the first time the missile defense system called Archangel. Archangel is a mobile weapon system for intermediate missile defense, developed by SCUDO in collaboration with the military branch of the MareBlu and designed for the interception of aircraft, drones, field tactical ballistic missiles (BRBM), tactical ballistic missiles (TBM), short-range ballistic missiles and medium / long-range missiles (IRBM).

Archangel is destined to support the Larsigian missile defense system. The name Archangel derives from Michael, Archangel and Prince of the celestial militias. Today, the Senate of the Grand Duchy of Lars has voted and passed an agreement that provides for the construction of a base of the Anti-State on the soil of the Grand Duchy. The agreement provides for the annual payment of a hidden sum to the government for each year that the military complex will be renewed.

The base will count a maximum number of 2000 troops and will be large enough to allow the construction of an aerial runway capable of landing and taking off large military aircraft.

The base was allowed following the previous constitutional amendment and the increasingly aggressive political expansion and military presence of the Republic of Kadikistan near the borders of the Grand Duchy.

Lars seems willing to follow the policy of: "A bear is needed to keep another bear calm." This decision is the biggest event implemented for two hundred years, with the aim of guaranteeing the independence of one of the last Grand Duchies of the Long Sea.

The Kadikistani Union shares the concerns raised by respectable nations such as the Kingdom of Gunnland and the Pelasgian Empire. The incursions of external powers in Germania is a negative development in the path towards regional peace. Just over one year after the destructive events of the 7 Days War it would seem that there are still nations in the region that seek to reignite the powder-keg. Willingly allowing and facilitating an aggressive foreign power with not as much as a border in Germania to dig themselves in with an intent that is clearly directed against the Free East. We have yet to determine if this is the consequence of a lack of historical knowledge or a downright act of aggression. Until we do we will presume the latter and act accordingly in the nearby future.

Sadly the Larsian government seems to obligate their people to relearn an ancient message that was re-affirmed during last year's conflict. The best way to gain stability and peace in Germania is through diplomacy, respecting the status quo and without the meddling of external powers. By not showing the slightest interests in talks concerning the alleged recent 'aggression' shown by the Kadikistani Union and its allies, but by instead and commanded by fear inviting hostile foreign militaries to claim pieces of their sovereign soil the Grand Duchy of Lars has chosen the path opposite to peace.

The Kadikistani Union takes note of these decision-makings stemming from the Grand Duchy of Lars and will act accordingly. All Kadikistani military personnel in the neighbouring countries of Lars have been put on high alert until the intentions of the external power in Germania are revealed.

We fully understand why the Grand-Duchy of Lars is looking for support. However, we ask the Government of Lars to reconsider the decision to allow a military presence of the Anti-State on Larsian soil, even if it is such a small military presence. Please realise that the vehemence in the diplomacy of the postdelegationist countries has turned the governments of those countries controversial. Please also realise that the kind of democracy postdelegationism advocates is not the kind of mature and stable democracies that emerged in many countries during the past centuries.

It is essential that Gallo-Germania and the Long Sea remain stable. Given recent events in the past, the best thing the Anti-State can do at this moment, is trying to reconcile with Pelasgia, Auraria and countries like Beautancus. This reconciliation cannot take place if the Anti-State suddenly builds up a military presence in the Long Sea.

We commend the government of Lars with the establishment of a 1.1 Euromarks developmental aid for the City of Marsilia. Indeed, that city is a forgotten place in Occitania.

The Confederate Republic of Beautancus and the Grand Duchy of Lars have today signed a mutual defense treaty and the annual grant by Lars of a naval base to the republic. The agreement was reached after weeks of negotiations to establish the limits and roles of the two countries within this historic document, which is added to the one already present with the Anti-State.

The authorities assure that there will be no problems for the Grand Duchy's trade routes, which on the contrary will always be safer thanks to the ever greater collaboration between the two naval forces.

Also in this case, the government has decided to keep secret the compensation that it will receive annually from the Confederate Republic, but ensures constant investments in the areas affected by the presence of military bases to improve the well-being of residents in the area.
