1.0 Introduction
The map has traditionally maintained an inactivity list for nations which run the risk of being greened or deleted. The term greened comes from our original maps in which empty landmass was the color green and thus when a nation was removed it would be replaced by that same color. That terminology persists today even if the empty plots are no longer green. The goal of this thread is keep the warnings and the list itself in a simple easy to find location. Typically this gets buried in map threads and while that seems like a good place for them, I think it's not a great location when people only visit the thread to either see the map or apply for something. Furthermore, this singular thread allows for other players to respond directly to the topic. In this post I'll go over the various conditions and stages for map removal and additional stipulations so that others know exactly what to expect.

2.0 On Warnings
A new tier system is to be implemented where players are first warned before they enter an actual inactivity list with conditions for removal. Essentially the deletion system works in three stages, a warning, a notice of removal, and then actual removal. The warning list can have any player be added to it that has not logged in or posted in over a month. The date they have been added to the list will also be indicated. This list is not supposed to be comprehensive, nor is the mapmaker looking to specifically add players to this list as fast as possible. Warnings will be issued at the mapmaker's leisure and can be politely challenged by players as well. There is no formal process for contesting warnings, and a simple post by the player issued a warning can remove themselves from the warning list. Additionally, a peer of the player can ask they be removed from this list provided they supply adequate reasoning. I don't think the mapmaker should be harsh on warnings, and so there will be a great degree of leniency.

Players on the Warning List will have one update cycle (theoretically one month), to regain activity to be removed from the list. They can ask by themselves to be removed, but the mapmaker might take notice of their activity as well and remove a player from the list as well. Ultimately this list is just a warning though, and so there are no consequences for failing to contest a warning other than moving on to the next tier in the map removal process.

3.0 About the Inactivity List

The second tier in the removal process is the actual inactivity list. Players here are under direct threat of being removed from the map with an official date provided that their nation will be removed (usually 1-3 months). Getting off this list can only be done by the player on the list. They must post in this thread to get off this list, although the mapmaker may also see their returned activity and remove them from the list as well.

Players that advance to the inactivity list will automatically lose all of their colonies that are not involved in an important storyline. Additionally, any player with a secondary nation will automatically have that secondary nation outright deleted. Secondary nations can be determined a bit arbitrarily, as it can be difficult to know which nation is a player's primary. Is it their main account with the most posts? The current most active one? The nation that was added to the map first? The mapmaker will try their best in judging this process.

Addendum (13 Sept 2021): I've found that I've left many nations on the map for long long periods of time even though they are on the inactivity list. Sometimes there isn't much pressure to really remove a nation even though they are inactive. If a nation is on the inactivity list and you'd like their space, feel free to apply for it in the map request thread.

4.0 Friends of the Forum and Seniority
Sometimes there are players that are long time members of the forum and genuine good friends with the player base. It can be very hard to suggest what player is more important than the other on both an IC or OOC basis. As such I want to remove the arbitrary decision making in this fashion and just flat out make it that any player account with over 1,000 posts will be considered senior on the forum and a contributor to the forum's activity in a profound way. This number might change in the future, but this seems like a good number for the time being.

These players won't have their nation's greened when placed on the inactivity list. Instead their nation's will be greyed. Greyed nations will be open to other players to cut up and use for RP, new nations, or what have you (please clear this with the mapmaker first), but will be nonetheless not outright greened. This means that in recognizing your contributions to the forum you won't be removed... at least immediately. Greyed nations might be removed if say you've been inactive for a really long time or some other reason that the administration decides upon.

5.0 Current Warning List

Galdea -- Added March Update 2022
• Galdea has been absent from posting since 3 Mar 2021. The player has logged in since somewhat routinely (usually every other month), which has kept them off the list, but will now be added after a year without posting. — 9 Mar 2022

Great Engellex -- Added March Update 2022
• Great Engellex is a long term friend of the forum and former mapmaker so he cannot be deleted. He has been absent from posting since 14 Jul 2021, but was last seen 27 Mar 2021. So clearly if he logs in, he is invisible. This shows the limitations of this system in terms of tracking players logging in, and suggests that players should not be on invisible mode for log periods of time. Engellex has been inactive for so long that he is added to the warning list, but of course would remain on the map even if fully added to the inactivity list.— 9 Mar 2022

Ivernia -- Added March Update 2022
• Ivernia is a long time "friend of the show", and as such won't be eligible to be deleted, but is added to the warning list because they haven't posted since 12 Dec 2020. Ivernia does somewhat routinely log in (last seen 24 Jan 2022), but activity is so non-existent, Ivernia must be added to the warning list. — 9 Mar 2022

Prydain -- Added March Update 2022
• Prydain has not posted since 12 Mar 2021, and has not even visited the forum since 5 Jul 2021. They have been removed from the map as a result of the "British Isles update" and how this has rather destroyed their borders; however, they still maintain their colony on the map and still belong on the map if not for this edit to the geography of the region. If they return they may provide updated borders to retain their spot with "dibs" on the area. — 9 Mar 2022

Vistarika -- Added September Update 2021
Vistarika has not been active in RP and unresponsive to attempts to contact them thus far on discord. With the importance of their location, and interest from other players in using the location it will be reduced in size and have its colonies deleted in the next update. — 13 Sept 2021
• The player behind Vistarika was in contact on the discord app and agreed to allow the player Solléga to take control of his assets in Gallo-Germania. The matter now closed, Vistarika will be replaced by Solléga and the player behind Vistarika (Beau), is allowed to remap himself whenever he so wishes as another nation. — 20 Sept 2021.

6.0 Inactivity List

Implaria -- Added February Update 2021
(Moved to Inactivity List March Update 2021)
Notes: Implaria is considered a senior player and would be greyed, noting of course that still colonies will be deleted with no major history pertaining to them. As Westernesse is crowded, their pixels would be readily available in my opinion and may be altered to more readily allow for new players or projects when the time comes (more on this subject will be added to the notes later). — 1 Mar 2021
• Implaria has been greyed as of the March Update 2021 and his colonies greened. Implaria will remained greyed for the foreseeable future with no timeline for removal. — 27 Mar 2021
• Implaria has been downsized to accommodate a reasonable request for a "Californian Natal" — Sept 2021

Meryan -- Added February Update 2021
(Moved to Inactivity List March Update 2021)
Notes: This player has only 6 posts and has not logged on since 6 Jan 2021. — 1 Mar 2021
• Meryan will be deleted next update. — 13 Sept 2021

With the return of Elbaron as I've noticed on the absence thread, and the release of the new map I've progressed the status of everyone that was on the warning list depending on the new information I've learned. New notes are indicated with bullet points.

With Ovi's return and nation change, his listing is a bit irrelevant and the list has been updated.

Beau's nation @Vistarika has been added to the inactivity list. Comments are listed in the initial post. Other points, I'd like to make here is that I've been contacted several times from other players since May to take this location. Out of respect for Beau, I'd declined requests so far but continued inactivity has taken its toll on this region, and it's time to officially add Vistarika to the inactivity list and thus officially begin the process for other players to take on this space. I know there are several other players who have been interested in this location, and as mapmaker, I am willing to entertain nation ideas for this plot of land moving forward understanding the parameters made in the official warning.

The warning list has been updated with Galdea, Great Engellex, Ivernia, and Prydain added. Read the notes to understand the terms on this update and as two of them are long term members, their addition does not equal their impending deletion, but rather allowing for their territory to not be untouchable.
