This latest move serves little to deescalate the Batavian crisis, on the contrary it gives Europe second thoughts as to the intentions of the AGE when it comes to devising a new resolution on the Batavian issue in the Security Council. One cannot help but to wonder whether this deliberate stalling is only to give way to an unilateral attempt at solving the crisis on AGE's term by scaremongering the Batavian leadership into submission.

The Tsardom of Shcherbatskaya would like to echo the sentiments of the Oikawan Empire. We might caution the Alliance for a Greater Europe to mind their steps as they are not only stepping on hundreds of toes, but the functionality of an entire international organization. We might suggest that all active discussion with the Batavian government be conducted with the full support of the international community and not just an alliance. Dialogue is for the Council of Nations, and all actions otherwise should be announced the international community in the plain view of the international community.

Maintenance of such ideals will ensure that the Batavian Crisis does not become a 'hot crisis'.

Levant and Oikawa Stare down in the Security Council

Today AGE ally Levantine States squared off against the Oikawan Empire after sending down respective vetoes over each other’s proposed plan to send in an emergency force to Batavie. Minister of External Affairs, Judit Zachrisson, spoke about the recent events concerning the Batavie Crisis.

"First and foremost the Archduchy of Austurland stand confidently by our Levantine allies. Austurland believes the Levantine States was just in its veto of the Oikawan resolution. The Council of Nations cannot authorize countries, which are not even members and who's sovereignty is not widely recognized by the global community, to partake in CN Peacekeeping operations. This resolution was nothing more than an attempt by the Oikawan regime to try and legitimize its vassal governments. This is something that the archduchy and the Levantine States will not stand for.

Also the Security Council needs to first and foremost to approve a group of nations to the Commission for the Stabilization of Batavie as called for by Resolution 2. Only this commission can authorize what troops from what nations to travel to Batavie and only Commission nations are allowed to send in troops. The archduchy will work with the members of the Security Council to come to a compromise and create the commission on Batavie to get the ball rolling."

Austurland Offers Compromise to the Batavie Crisis

Today Ambassador Edvard Feldbaek, the chief of the Austurlander CN Mission, announced a proposed compromise resolution to finally solve the Batavie crisis. Dr Feldbaek unveiled the resolution at a news conference in Augsburg this afternoon.

"We believe that this will solve the immediate and long term problems and goals of the mission" - Dr Feldbaek

In an effort to once again get the ball rolling following the standoff between Austurlander ally the Levantine States and the Oikawan Empire earlier this week, Dr Feldbaek's team put together a resolution some something for everyone. The resolution puts forth a decent list of states that have pledged to give troops if requested, the three permanent members, as well as a member from each alliance. The resolution also calls for the three non-permanent alliance members to send in forces immediately. Of those three Austurland and Montelimar already have forces waiting since the first resolution was passed. Cassiopeia was named as the member from the LFS.

However, despite the alliance politics Batavie has maintained that the permanent members not contribute in man power, but through other means. The resolution calls for this unless authorized by a unanimous vote of the Commission members. In a further effort to appease the Batavien government from alliance politics in the peacekeeping mission numerous non-aligned members were placed on the commission to prevent the alliances from dominating the mission.

"The purpose of this mission is to help the state of Batavie as it rebuilds from its devastation from the insurgency and aid in the transition with a new democratic government. In order to accomplish this we must include the wishes of the Batavien government as they are the one who know their nation best." stated Austurlander delegate Dr. Henri Pacaut after the announcement.

Austurland cannot present the resolution to the Security Council as the archduchy does not have a seat on the Council, but is hoping that with this announcement one of the members will introduce the resolution and hopefully it will pass.

AGE scolds Austurland over economic policies

AGE Secretary-General Alvar Ortendhal gave some harsh words for the Archduchy over Austurland's economic activity. The disagreement has been one that has been growing for some time. In regards to alliance economic activity Austurland has always been nonparticipating. This has been promoted by the views of leaders who see the AGE as a defensive military alliance primarily and not an economic alliance.

"Economic cohesion is just as vital in the defense of an ally as is standing next to them on the battlefield. No longer can Austurland stand out while the rest of the alliance marches in lock-step for the benefit of all member-states." stated AGE Secretary-General Alvar Ortendhal from the AGE HQ in Francoisville, Frescania.

The House of Electors introduced legislation to be voted upon tomorrow that would bring austurland fully inline with AGE economic policies, such as a complete lowering of trade barriers between the other AGE members and the participation in the AGE Barca Exchange. The bill, sponsored by the progressives, are expected to be able to gain enough Conservative votes to have the legislation pass.

First French Deputy PM sworn in

Governor Rodolphe Devereaux was approved as the first French Deputy Prime Minister by a slim majority votes of the House of electors. The long delay in Mr. Devereaux's confirmation was due to a few oppositions members using procedural trick to kill the nomination.

Devereaux' nomination, unsupported by many conservatives, was used by Prime Minister Raev to bring in more moderate voters into the Conservative Party.

"I welcome Mr. Devereaux to my administration and look forward to a more prosperous cooperation in this government." - Prime Minister Raev.

Austurlander Fleet leaves Batavie Area

The Austurlander 1st fleet, which responded to the outbreak of the Batavie Crisis, will now be heading home. The fleet has been waiting in the area to send in humanitarian aid to Batavie when the Security council gives its go ahead. Now that it seams the approval will not be given by the Council of Nations. The Defense Ministry said it would be too costly to keep the fleet in position in the event the Security Council approves to go in.

The humanitarian supplies are to be transported to a storage facility in Arendaal to be sent to Batavie when the Security Council allows.

Austurland and the American Union sign treaty of Friendship

"The American Union and the Archduchy of Austurland are two free states, neighboring nations who share the ideals of democracy and liberty. Being that they have no earthly conflict, and the relations between them are amiable and friendly, let it now be known that these two nations, in their accords and actions, pledge to mutual understanding and to being trustworthy partners of one another." stated Prime Minister Nikolay Raev announcing the treaty being signed. The words were the same words spoken by the American president.

This is the first document of cooperation between Austurland and its former AGE allies. "The American union and Austurland will continue to cooperate for the betterment of our collective region." stated the Austurlander Minister of External Affairs.

Treaty includes a free trade agreement, while the AU doesn't maintain many tariffs the Archduchy does. This new agreement will work to remove all the trade barriers between the two nations, something Austurland is usually reluctant to do.

it was also announced that within the coming weeks the ministers of Education and Defense will be traveling to the American Union to work out provisions that include a student exchange program and cooperation between the American and Austurlander militaries. Also the two nations will be planning a set of naval exercises, however most of the details are classified.
