I am writing to urge you to abandon the witch hunt instigated by the Gunnish government against the heads of Clan MacLeish, who we can confirm are residing safely in Trivodnia under our protection.

Windhaven has proven it is not to be trusted, and has covertly supported Kadikistani military operations in Crotobaltislavonia by allowing free passage of military material through its territories from Ivar's puppet state Calidia. Photographic evidence and the latest analysis from the Free State Self-Defence Forces and Free State Intelligence Bureau provided.

The current Gunnish government has also been an outspoken promoter of anti-Semitic slurs, and I - along with the Jewish community of Trivodnia - would be gravely offended by any Eiffellander support. Clan MacLeish on the other hand have long been a friend to the Jewish peoples.

I trust our words will be heeded.

I understand your train of thought. I don't know why the Gunnish government let those Kadikistani troops pass to Crotobaltislavonia, because of which I cannot go further than calling that an unwise decision (although I used stronger words). We will try to convince the Gunnish government to follow a friendlier policy towards Trivodnia in the future.

For stopping the tracking down of Duncan MacLeish, I have problems to fulfil your wishes in this. The stance of Clan MacLeish towards Trivodnia may be more favourable than the stance of the Gunnish government, but please be aware of the fact that Duncan MacLeish is not just a Gunnish businessman with other ideas than the Gunnish government. We have strong evidence that the Clan MacLeish is involved in drug trafficking and humans trafficking. There are no indications that this evidence was fabricated; furthermore, we obtained this evidence by means of own research and research by our allies. We cannot close our eyes for this.
I also want to point your attention to a possible involvement of Duncan MacLeish in the kidnapping of at that time still Princess Julian. Because her kidnappers also dragged her through Eiffelland before they released her in Aurich, we have a case of illegal deprivation of liberty committed on Eiffellandian soil here. We cannot bring ourselves to get an understanding for dragging a 19 year old girl over the continent because of a Gunnish clan war, and that has nothing to do with a preference of Clan Gunn over Clan MacLeish.

I am awfully sorry, but I cannot help you in the case of Duncan MacLeish. We would even be very grateful if you extradite him to Eiffelland, although it would be better if he would be extradited to Gunnland.

What we could do for Trivodnia, however, is to help you in the case of a Kadikistani attack. We are thinking of establishing weapons factories in Trivodnia, from where we can provide the Trivodnian armed forces with hand weaponry plus ammunition, as well as infantry fighting vehicles and tanks. We can also deliver air defence systems.

Other ways of supporting Trivodnia are also possible.

Many thanks for your prompt and candid reply.

Unfortunately our own intelligence seems to contradict your own assessments. From our own analysis we believe Duncan MacLeish and his clansmen have been the victim of a conspiracy by its domestic enemies in Gunnland. If you are willing to share your own findings we can review and perhaps readjust our position.

However even if the claims put forward are true, under no circumstance are we willing to consider extradition to Gunnland, for the reasons outlined in my previous communiqué.

I will leave it up to the new minister of national defence to discuss armaments arrangements.

We will welcome your new Minister of National Defence to discuss armaments arrangements. Is it needed that we contact him, or will he or she contact us?

For the case of Duncan MacLeish, I cannot go into too many details. Please find attached a file I that I can disclose. This file contains a description of two undercover operations by the Staatsschutz into Duncan MacLeish's organisation. The two operations show proof of his personal involvement in drug and humans traficking. Not evidence, but proof. Basically, the man is a drug dealer and a slave trader. We know that he supported the Trivodnian case to a high extent, but he obtained the funds he used for supporting you by selling women from all over the world to brothels all over Gallo-Germania and in Engellex, and by turning people from all over the world into drug-addicts. Furthermore, we have evidence that he ordered the torturing and killing of one of the Staatsschutz agents involved in these undercover operations. If you don't want to extradite Duncan MacLeish to Gunnland, then please extradite him to Eiffelland, so that justice can be done. We are willing to leave the kidnapping of Queen Julian out of the indictment—we already have enough for a condemnation to life imprisonment without that charge. We can also talk about a financial deal.

Having spoken to experts at the National Watch and Free State Intelligence Bureau we remain unconvinced there exists incontrovertible proof Duncan MacLeish was personally or directly involved in the alleged crimes.

Trivodnia prides itself being a safe haven for the politically persecuted, be that Kadikistani dissidents of Gunnish clan chiefs.

We trust the Eiffellander government shares the same faith in our judicial system as we do and that while our strategic aims are in broad alignment, we are both free to pursue independent foreign policies.

We are highly astonished by the opinion of the National Watch and the Free State Intelligence Bureau regarding Duncan MacLeish's involvement in drug and humans traficking. I repeat, the information I sent you is based on our own assessments, not on Gunnish documents. This is not a case of political persecution, but a crime case. A political refugee is usually a political refugee because he or she disagrees with the government of his or her mothercountry and the government of said mothercountry prohibits to criticise the government. This is somethiing else than drug and humans traficking, and ordering murders. Duncan MacLeish is not a political refugee, he is a gangster. Aligning yourself with him means handing out your country to the mafia.

I have to mention to you that the decision to not extradite Duncan MacLeish will have consequences to our willingness to help out Trivodnia. Please realise that a bunch of criminal gunslingers by no means matches a well-trained Kadikistani army. Please also realise that Carinthia-Harkány cannot defend you against Kadikistan on its own, either. You cannot rely on gangsters; you need countries as friends.
