I don't know, the norestican sea, which is where I'd like the nation to be situated in since it's not facing the eastern continents, is already a bit crowded. I'm a bit conflicted right now, but thanks for the suggestions.

Just start playing and figure out the map situation as you go ;)
You should withdraw your claim and try doing that. Tell me how it goes. :p

But nah. Not only would I risk in running into the same issue if I were too wait too long, but geography/map placement just plays too much of a role in developing a nation concept.

Are there any plots currently on the map that are going to to be removed, by any chance? And what's the nation northwest of Virumaa?

Map update delays considered, new primary player nation map claims have always taken precedent over competing secondary nation or colonial claims. This was the policy I went by for the years I ran the map, and I think it’s the fairest and accommodating to new players.

As said, an Arab nation could easily go anywhere on western Himyar and a south-American on south/east of Tapenaga. If you need islands for your concept to work, just request a change to the shape of your mapspot.

As far as I am aware, there is currently no player west of Virumaa.

What would be the preferable ethnic make up of the territory south of Vurblin and Sjevrak? Would it be slavic or could it be some sort of non-middle eastern asian? And is Toyou completly out of bounds or is claiming some border areas fine?

I'd rather not be the reason someone loses their own RP over. Who knows if I'll even stay for as long as it would be to make that justifiable. :p

I think past nations in the area were central asian and/or slavic. Generally, you can put anything anywhere if you have a good explanation for why that makes sense. The area in question is very much the connection between our worlds version of Europe and Asia, so that offers quite a few options.

And Toyou is up for grabs. Don't know why it shouldn't.

I think you could go either way, depending on how far you would your country to stretch eastwards or southwards. Then you might consider a more Middle-Eastern, Turko-Mongol or even Central Asian racial composition. You can always have some minority communities around, due to historical circumstances. =)

Touyou is currently still being reworked and I think at least part of those areas are part of Kashtan.

To be honest, right now, I'm mostly just probing with questions so I can have an idea of what to claim next.

And well, time to try claiming again. This time I made sure to try to read back to see if no one had claimed what I'm claiming. :p

The nation name would be Loucerne.

The capital would be Amaranthe.

The little green bits in the ocean would be some islands I'd like to have if they could be added in, but not really necessary, I just thought of it.

I'd really like if the bits on Elamra were added however. I assume it's fine since the player that runs that nation said they'd be abandoning it.

Withdrawing my claim.

Yes! Elamra is being cut out (if you have Moroccans living around there, I’d love you).

Word of caution, though, Aurarians are notorious for being libertines and lazy so be careful being so close.

Summary
The Halingian Kingdom would be my second nation I would like to develop. It is a conservative and Catholic monarchy, mainly consisting of Halingians (i.e. basically Frisians), with regional Finnic communities in the north and a small Salian presence in the south. In recent decades, German-speaking refugees have come over from both Kadikistan and the Northern Realms. I believe a Frisian nation, with traits of Scandinavia, would definitely fit this position and outline. The majority of the population, almost 13 million residents, live in the south. The northern islands however, mostly inhospitable, still possess some riches and are of geopolitical importance to the King and government.

@Pohjanmaa Apologies. After creating this map I noticed your latest map alterations also mention an expansion of Finner og Isorne on the continent, now coinciding with my current application. Would this claim of mine bother you? I know it is rather aesthetically, though this way it looks less pear shaped (literally). If it does bother you, I will alter the plot - first come, first serve of course. But I overlooked your drawing.

Edit: I will lower Halingia's population to approximately 10 million. Additionally I will adopt aspects from Virumaa's former lore and role-play, to fill certain hiatuses that have risen due to the nation change. E.g. the kingdom could still be lead by a Gunn; it still could be part of the Council of the North; it still could have had the aforementioned colonies etc. It's all discussable. This way, the loss of Virumaa can be somewhat compensated for. =)

Of course! On two conditions though. :p

1.) We rename the White Sea.
2.) My new border was supposed to connect me to Ovi a bit, but he killed his nation so now I think I’d like to share an extensive border with you from the islands all the way to the southern coast. We can do some fun RP on our new border which will use your drawn border as such.

How can I deny an offer so generous? ;-)

Any new ideas? :ghost:
I'm just not content with any of the map claims I can think of other than my first two ones. It's a cosmetic gripe but it matters to me, so I think I'll rethink or I dunno.

Apologies for the issue.

Pretty please tell me I can claim this. I can let off the coastal bits on the continent if that's already claimed.

Those islands make no sense, I will not interefere with Zhola's claim and work out how that happened, but those islands I've encircled are silly

I don't understand what's silly about that.

Edit: Would this be better in your opinion?

I would like to submit this as my final application if there are no conflicting claims.

The nation name will be Loucerne. Amaranthe is the capital.
