In an extraordinary meeting of the joint houses of the Federal Assembly, presided by the chairman of the Hippos, the honourable Bradley Ross, the members of the assembly have decided to activate the little used Law 34/1908, which states in case of parliamentarian blockage, snap elections are to be called. This was done to end the political blockage in which one party dominates the legislative while the other the presidency and with the change of allegiances and splits, in the past two years three governments have been brought down.

The Department of Defense has released plans to replace F-10C Wyverns and F-101 Agile Wyverns with Jupiter Aerojet's upgraded and more technologically advanced F-101AX Advanced Agile Wyvern. Current F-10C Wyverns will be moved to Air Guard Units to replace aging Continental Consolidated F-7G Banshee's currently in use in Air Guard units across the country. The addition of F-101AX's will aid the Continental Armed Forces in upgrading its weapons systems to facilitate integration into the DDI's electronic BATTLENET system which seeks to integrate all weapons systems for easier battlefield awareness and command and control among the alliance's armed forces.

(Chacannina) Speaking to students and colleagues around the world via livestream earlier today, paleontologists from the University of the Coda at Chacannina announced the discovery of a new member of the Dromaeosauridae family of bird-like carnivorous dinosaurs that called much of Western Beautancus home 80-70 million years ago. Named "Codaraptor dromaeocarnifex" by the team, the specimen was discovered in a "remarkably complete state," with portions of the animal's apparently densely feathered hide preserved on one side of the torso. Estimates for the size of Codaraptor are only slightly heavier and taller than its better known relative, Deinonychus - making it roughly man-sized - though this new dromaeosaur does appear to have had larger, more robust forelimbs.

The Capital Gains & Estate Tax will be raised 10%. To satisfy the SDP caucus. In addition a new Imperial Oil Tax, also of 10%, is to be implemented across the mainland & the territories. SDP Chairman praises comprise that "Reminds the rich to pay their fair share." Bill will fund Crown Government for at least the next 2 years. Majority of allocated funds to be routed to further funding Emperatriz's domestic revitalization programs. More details as they emerge.

Contrary to the comments appearing over the news after the clash in parliament this week, the National Statistics Bureau has stated that compared to the last two years, Beira did manage to move from a stagnating economy, always close to recession, as it was in the past two years towards a healthier 2.1% economic growth expected for the first quarter of 2020. Inflation has kept steady 3.7%, the same value as last year, but still a part of a general trend of decrease after the maximum of 55% in 1998. Unemployment stands at a 7.1%, decreasing in the past two years from 11.1% to 8.9% and now to the current value.

The last polls regarding the legislative election show that both the Partido Democratico Nacional and the Uniao Nacioal are slowly but surely sapping in the support of the Partido Socialista. Currently, the PDN are estimate to win 39% of the votes, the Partido Socialista 33%, the Uniao Nacional 14% and the rest of 14% are divided between smaller parties like the Partido Verde, Iniciativa Liberal, Partido Popular and Partido Unido do Sul. While the Uniao Nacional is seen as a strong contender to become the main opposition, the Partido Socialista still has a change in remaining the main opposition party if it manages to win the support of Partido Verde, and more importantly, Partido Unido do Sul.

This comes after a decision by Prime Minister da Silva to take part in the yearly pilgrimage to Nossa Senhora do Pilar. The tradition of the pilgrimage to Pilar is two centuries old, after reports of apparitions and the phenomena of the weeping statue of the Madonna present at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in the city. Since then, the ides of March have seen the development of a huge tradition of pilgrimage and prayer in the city of Pilar.

Political parties in the Cortes Gerais take position in regards to the referendum regarding the restoration of the monarchy. Led by Pedro da Silva and Maximinho Pinto, in a surprise decision, the National Democratic Party has set itself up against the referendum "as it is veiled attack on our republic and democracy". They did state that while both of them support a republic and will campaign for a republic, they will let their members and supporters follow their conscience. The National Union, led by Anibal Cabras has positioned itself fully in support of the referendum and the monarchy, while the Socialist Party's leader, Roberto Moreno, stated that if this goes forward, him and the party will campaign for a republic, but he stated that "all those calls are sapping at the morale and legitimacy of our nation". The referendum issue has broken the old political alliances, as the Popular Party and the United Party of the South positioned themselves for a referendum, while the Green Party and the Liberal Initiative stated that they will stand against it.

The National Democratic Party has declared that it will form a coalition with the Liberal Initiative, the Popular Party and the United Party of the South, to form the new government. While this gives them only 49.5% of the votes in the Assembly of the Republic, a deal has been struck between Pedro da Silva and Maximinho Pinto of the NDP and Roberto Moreno, the leader of the Socialist Party, for the latter to provide "limited confidence and support" for the new government. Senhor Morenho has stated that this means that they will vote for the new government to be formed, but they will offer the support on a case by case basis, analysing each bill before voting it, rather than blindly support the National Democrats.
