The Tides were changing in Europe, in the matter of months things had gone from the look of a continued peace even with aggressive rhetoric around the world, to one that now looked like Gallia would be the flashpoint of the next conflict. Earlier in the year the Defense budget had seen a significant increase when the government called for a larger budget overall to begin playing its hands in a greater global role.
In the past the air force had been the branch of priority for requests for large expenditures, always having been tasked in a defensive measure that should have been the navies. The tides had been changing over the last years as the navy began to receive attention it had lacked for nearly half a generation. No more than the new government budget having been announced the contracts on a new, larger carrier had been inked and four new escorts. The idea was to always have at least one to two carriers available while one or even possibly both were being serviced. The air force as well now looked to use its increase for needed expenditures as well to increase its capabilities to always be ready and match toe-to-toe with adversaries at home or abroad in the defense of allies, it had placed orders for more fighters, helicopters, and search and patrol craft.
