Throne Council of Pelasgia
Office of the Protokathedros
Private Communiqué

ΑΣ 2289/2019 | Ἄκρως Ἀπόῤῥητον | Ἔκτακτον-Ἀστραπιαῖον
Propontis, 3 June 2019

To the attention of the Right Honourable Elisabeth Martinique, Premier of Serenierre.

Honourable Madam,

It is no secret that relations between our states, in modern history in general and in recent times in particular, have been far from amiable. Indeed, in recent years, our countries have barely avoided war on more than one occasion, and continue to be ideologically opposed. However, His Imperial Majesty's Government has recognised a window of opportunity for improvement in our relations; as the Empire is no longer bound by the defunct Trier Concord, it is no longer obliged to treat Serenierre as a hostile power.

Moreover, much graver regional concerns, of a diplomatic, economic and military nature, weigh heavily upon both our destinies, as the recent episode of piracy in the Long Sea serves to illustrate. Though Villesen and Propontis have long stood at opposite ends of the sea, metaphorically and literally, perhaps it is time to bridge the gap between our countries, for practical reasons if nothing else.

Your recent visit to Propontis assured me of the honesty of Serenierre's wish for rapprochement and reconciliation, and of your own honest desire to deal with our mutual concerns and issues in a sustainable and profound way. With this in mind, I cannot but express my own honest wish, and that of my own country and Sovereign, for closer cooperation between us, such that our bilateral ties might be repaired and strengthened, to lay the foundation for a lasting relationship of trust and cooperation.

Signed and sealed,

Γραμματικὸς Γεώργιος τοῦ Νικολάου

Georgios Grammatikos, son of Nikolaos
Protokathedros (President), Throne Council of Pelasgia

POLITBURO DE SERENIERRE
Office of the Premier

CLASSIFIED
Villesen | 3ème Juin, MMXIX
To
Monsieur Georgios Grammatikos
The Protokathedros - Throne Council
Propontis, Empire of Pelasgia

Your Excellency,
It is with considerable warmth that I receive your letter. Over the course of my eleven years as Premier, this Politburo has remained hopeful that our historical misunderstandings could be resolved by way of negotiation and dialogue. In my recent visit to the ancient Pelasgian capital, I had the pleasure of meeting not only your good self, but also several members of the Pelasgian government, with whom I found myself in agreement on a number of points.

The new dynamic emerging between our two nations was clear to see as our mutual commitment to economic prosperity and regional harmony was without much divergence. As both nations recognize the risk of unrestricted piracy in the Long Sea, and many other challenges which face us, the need to let bygones be bygone is the most cogent course of action for both nations.

In light of the same sentiment, I believe the Propontis meetings have laid the groundwork for a consensus to be reached on a number of economic, political, and other avenues of cooperation. The Republique Populaire echoes in equal measure the Pelasgian desire for a profound relationship between Villesen and Propontis for the betterment of the whole Long Sea.
