Unidos' most popular source of information, now available online.
In a press conference two days ago in the industrial town of Casta-la-Véta, in the shadow of the skyscrapers of Iperion, the executive manager of the Two Shores initiative, Vicense Cordoniu, officially announced the completion of the railway. The route will run on national tracks from Iperion to Prasina, and then take the new track over the Crest, crossing the desert until the train arrives in Roanoke, in the Southern Constituent Republics. The journey is projected to take around three days, and the desert crossing to take just two days, stopping for one night on the shores of Lake Aliona in a specially constructed facility for the overnight stop.
For those interested in trade, a goods train runs along the same line, stopping off at Lake Aliona to pick up and offload goods from ships docking in from the Sea of Andals. The aim, as Cordoniu envisioned in his conference, is to create an alternative option for ships that would otherwise have to sail all the way around southern Himyar, drastically cutting down on the travel time of goods around the world.
The facility in Lake Aliona is the first of its kind in Unidos. Built on the desert shores, it consists of a 'village' of hotels and staff housing that is built to hold one thousand visitors every night, as well as the staff, and a dock that lifts shipping containers off the ships and lowers them directly onto the waiting trains. Cordorniu hopes that, in time, the village may grow to accommodate demand, perhaps transforming the previously empty shores into a wintertime holiday resort.
The railway will be open for civilian use in two weeks, after practical testing has been performed.
Directors gather for the Council
The annual Council has rolled around once again, and the Directors are preparing for this year's legislation. While the intent of the meeting cannot be confirmed, topics on the table this year may include Unidos' stances on the heating political climate of Germania, the demands of the corporate leaders of the rising Aurelian technology industry, and the ever-rolling tide that is the progressive movement, ineffectually flip-flopping from one issue to the next.
After the Directors are done in Azarel, cities can expect to see the usual spring tide of new legislation - for better or for worse, the Council is definitely going to have to respond to the shifting economic and social climates of the nation.

The week is expected to bring strong winds all over the country - be prepared to plan your journeys accordingly. The skies are expected to be cloudless, and temperatures of 15 degrees on average will bring an end to the cold winter.
