Pelasgian Empire
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Public Statement

13th of December, 1956
To whom it may concern.

Mr. McGowan's most repugnant remarks, which call for the brutal murder and/or unjust imprisonment of all of Marxism's political opponents, only serve to highlight the true nature of the dictatorial, oppressive system that Marxism is: a death cult, bent on the destruction of pluralism, liberty, basic human dignity, and rights, as well as human civilisation itself. It is no mystery that Saaremaa has devolved into a terrorist regime. Thus, the Empire is forced to seriously reconsider whether She shall continue to offer her recognition to a government which was installed to power via coup, unless public, clear, and legitimate measures are taken to address the blatant abuses that have taken place in Saaremaa. For all its faults, the Loago regime is still legitimate, and much more humane. With pertinence to Sheridan, its tolerance of international terrorism and sponsorship of violence as a means of political discourse could very well serve as the basis for sanctions, unless Sheridan's leadership changes its course.

Signed and Sealed,

Ikaros Dragases

Revolutionary Guards open fire on anti-communist protesters. Navy personel mutinies
AP International

Riots and protests have erupted in Kuressaare, Imavere and other major cities of Saaremaa yesterday after citizens of Loagin heritage have went on the streets to celebrate the Proclamation of the Empire of Loago. The authorities responded by arresting and beating the pro-Loagin demonstrators. While in the other main cities the demonstrations were easily suppressed in a first wave of arrests and the declaration of curfews, in Kuressaare the demonstrations and protests have become acute. Other citizens have joined the Loago-descendants by waving the red monarchist flags of Royal Saaremaa and the purple flags of Prometheism. The protesters have attacked the headquarters of the DSS, the secret services of the People's Republic of Saaremaa and the headquarters of the Communist Workers' Party. They have also painted the walls in downtown Kuressaare with images representing Becker being hanged and the Hammer and Sickle being thrown into the garbage bin.

Roman Becker is currently in Ivar discussing the details of implementing the Rurikgrad Pact with his Kadikistani homologous, Nikolai Leninov. Upon hearing of the riots taking place in Kuressaare, Becker has decided not to interrupt his state visit to Kadikistan and has delegated his second in command, the commander of the Revolutionary Guards, Brigadier Tiitus Laht to stabilize the situation and end all actions that he described as banditry.

Today, the Revolutionary Guards opened fire at the crowd that was gathering in the old King Mihkel III Square, renamed into the Revolution Square. The Guards have ordered the crowd to disperse for about half an hour and afterwards, some guardsmen fired towards the sky. Chaos ensured as the crowd dispersed, while some guardsmen started firing towards the people. Many of the protesters have took refuge in the Kuressaare St Isidore Cathedral. The Revolutionary Guards surrounded it and ordered them to exit the building. As a response, Bishop Juhan Meri has asked the protesters not to leave the Church. More than 10 people died in the Revolution Square, but exact numbers are hard to obtain as Saaremaa as turned into one of the most secretive regimes in the world after the rise to power of Roman Becker.

In response to the shootings in Kuressaare, the battleship SNS Noita has taken down the white-green-black tricolor of Saaremaa And started flying the red Royal Saare flag, together with the Green and White flag of Loago. The Ship has broken formation from the escort ships that were accompanying it to the Northern Thaumantic for Naval Exercises and started heading towards Maseru. The other ships, have also turned and now return to Kuressaare.

Captain Andreas Fischer of the Noita contacted the authorities of the Empire of Loago to announce his arrival and they in turn contacted the AP. It seems that the crew and the officers from SNS Noita have revolted against the Marxist-Leninovist government in Saaremaa, saying that they have given their oaths to the Kingdom of Saaremaa and to King Alvar V, not to Roman Becker. They also declared that they will apply for political asylum and asked the whole world to condemn and break all relationships with Saaremaa.

The Free States of Trivodnia continues to be deeply concerned about the ongoing situation in Saaremaa, and condemns the use of violence to achieve political ends. All sides must work together to deliver a Saaremaa that works for everyone and respects basic, common rights.

Tizonan Army Operation Closes Borders
AP International

Tizona has confirmed that its western borders are closed for the duration of the holidays, causing chaos and disruption for tens of thousands of Himyari citizens and traffic. While Seaward and Aerial points of entry are mostly unaffected, and the borders with Andaluz, Pelasgia and Ashkelon remain open, Tizona has effectively shut down its borders into the rest of south-western Himyar. While sources remain sketchy, reports speak of large-scale mobilisation of Tizonan Army units, assisted by the Armed Police, securing known major routes in the Deep Hinterland.

While the Tizonan Government has not responded to comment, and may in fact have already gone into recession for the Christmas holidays, local sources suggest that a major Tizonan security operation is under way, and that the notorious el Moktar Bandit Clan was recently hit by a major assault from Tizonan forces. As the long rumoured orchestrators of a cross-border banditry and smuggling criminal empire, it would make sense for a co-ordinated operation of security and millitary personnel to secure the borders to ensure the successful apprehension of all members of this criminal organisation. However, the scale and uncertainty of the cause has caused deep confusion and anger amongst the primarily non-Christian population of Himyari Tizona, who typically use this time of year to do most of their Winter travelling and preparation.

Many Uroduah feel this operation was undertaken explicitly to target them and contradict a long-standing belief that the Christmas holidays are a "free time" for the predominantly Muslim Uroduah to conduct their affairs unimpeded by the ruling Christian minority.

"So great is their hatred of us, they are willing now to force many of their men to work through Christmas, simply to catch a few bandits and smugglers. Truly they must be desperate for border revenue in Sagrado." commented Sheik Haytham ibn Akbar, son of the recently murdered Sheik el Moktar, believed by many to have been the leader of the el Moktar Bandit Clan rumoured to be the target of this security operation. "This unannounced and heavy-handed assault, whatever its purpose, can surely only be further signs of a government unwilling to tolerate a majority of its own people."

Sheik Haytham has been busy organising his people's cross-border winter supply shopping, and fears that this border operation will delay his ability to return to his home-town and family. Whatever the intended effect of this operation, it is clear that the Uroduah tensions brewing in Southern Tizona are unlikely to dissipate any time soon.

President Khayrat of the Jurzan uses choice words to describe the Pelasgian Empire.
AP Sharjah

The Associated Press has reported that in an off-color comment at a political gala in the Jurzani city of Karak, President Faraj Khayrat has been quoted as saying that “Pelasgia is the most disappointing, feckless nation of the Kalahari.”

It has been known for a long time now that the Jurzani President – credited as a founding father of the country and a strong spiritual guide – has had a less than favorable opinion of the Pelasgians. The sour relations hit a turning point during the deportation crisis where Kadikistan was forcibly removing Jurzani people from their homelands in Khandahar to the northern regions of the country as part of a cultural assimilation program.

The Pelasgians stated that under the guidelines of the “Status Quo Treaty,” Kadikistan had the full ability to make this determination and that any action taken by the Jurzani Government to protect tis people would be seen as a hostile, aggressive stance. Without a doubt, the Pelasgian stance was not well received by the Jurzani people.

“They [the Pelasgians] use the Status Quo treaty as a shield to not have to take any meaningful stance on the world stage. It is a pity that the nation fields such a large military but lacks any such courage to use it,” said one Jurzani Parliament member.

Chief Councilor Hekmatyar has also been critical of the Pelasgians in the past. “They suffer from a blind leadership that is unable to see that the existence of an aggressive, belligerent Kadikistan is the very antithesis of the ‘Status Quo’ but the only thing they fear more than confronting the Marxist-Leninovists is actually taking a strong, public stance.”

Much of the Jurzan’s animosity comes from the Empire’s unlikely ‘alliance’ to the Kadikistani. However, Prime Minister Farrukh has made significant progress in reversing the sour relations between Kadikistan and the Jurzan, which could bode well for increased relations between the Pelasgians and jurzani people. Even so, the current Foreign Minister did not comment on whether or not Pelasgia was included in the Jurzan’s new foreign policy.

Public Statement

23th of December, 1956
To whom it may concern.

The Jurzani Ambassador has been summoned to explain these most insulting and preposterous comments; depending on the explanations we are given, a more severe response may be warranted. While we understand that the machist warmongers of Alaghan are outraged at the notion that we have come to an understanding of sorts with the other major powers of the Kalahari to prevent global war, seeing that it deprives them of any hope for major foreign support in case they are foolish enough to attempt to attack Kadikistan's sovereign borders on their own, this Empire has far from stopped projecting its influence and power on the world stage. From the recent undertakings at the mouth of the Kalahari, to the recent diplomatic spurs over the Saare people's polity, which involve Kadikistan, the nation we have supposedly 'bent the knee' to, the Empire has used both sword and pen to ensure that the advancement of the cause of peace, diplomacy, human rights, and democracy across the world. Jurzan might be angered that Pelasgia has not yet used these resources to bring Europe into a state of total chaos and destruction only to temporarily entertain the illusions and pipe dreams of Jurzani irredentists, but the rest of Europe, and especially the Pelasgian people, is more than thankful for our attempts at keeping peace across the world. We would advise Mr. Hekmatyar and Mr. Khayrat to not further undermine Jurzani diplomacy by insulting entire foreign peoples and the leadership of other countries, if only to at least temporarily let the rest of us ignore the fact that the latter is akin to a monarch in all but name.

Trivodnian volunteers prevented from travelling to Saaremaa
AP Kretyn

Dozens of armed men were detained by the Trivodnian military today after being caught attempting to cross the Gothic Sea to travel to Saaremaa, where they were hoping to join the Saare opposition in fighting the Kadikistani-backed communist regime.

According to sources in the Trivodnian armed forces, close to one hundred volunteers were arrested after attempting to board an unchartered ship filled with weapons and medical supplies.

The Free States' constitution prevents Trivodnian citizens from fighting for foreign governments, with the suggested punishment a lifetime's imprisonment.

However, the current coalition government is rumoured to be sympathetic with the cause of the Saare rebels, and many suspect President Meier Lauterpacht will pardon the offenders or at least reduce their sentences considerably.

Kristijan Sisask, Koit Sokk and Mihkel Vaino sign accords regarding the future
AP Caladbolg

Kristijan Sisask, the political leader of Free Pohjamaad and leader of the right-wing faction of the Prometheist People's Union, Koit Sokk, the leader of the left-wing faction of the Prometheist People's Union and Mihkel Vaino, the Lord Governor of Loago met during the last week at the Saare Embassy in Caladbolg. During the summit, they discussed the future of a free Saaremaa once the Kuressaare regime is to be defeated.

Kristijan Sisask declared that the Prometheist People's Union as a party has lived it's last days when Roman Becker organized the coup. He declared that the right-wing faction of the PPU will be reformed into the Social Republican Party. The party declares itself Prometheist in social and political policies, but economically, it wishes to readopt many of the corporatist policies supported by Riina Lepp and her government. Koit Sokk also declared that the left-wing faction of the PPU will be reformed into the Prometheist Labour Party which declares itself an inheritor of the old PPU.

Meanwhile, most of the monarchists have set up their bases in Loago. Mihkel Vaino declared that even if he supports the return of the Saare Monarchy, Loago will stand besides the Pohjamaad revolution, even if it is dominated by the republican thought. Loago soldiers are already on their way to Pohjamaad to support the White Army.

The three have met in Caladbolg to discuss the future of new Saaremaa and have decided to organize referendums in Saaremaa and Loago once the war is over, to decide if Saaremaa will remain a republic or if the monarchy is to return and in Loago to decide if the Empire will be legitimized by popular vote, or a republican constitution will be necessary. Even with all those ideological differences, the three have reaffirmed their alliance to keep Kadikistan and Marxism-Leninovism away from Saaremaa and even to reinstate the Iron Wall policies together will Ivernia, Cymru and Lauenburg. Thus, until the referendums will decide the future of Loago and Saaremaa, on external politics, Loago is to remain the Empire, while Saaremaa will be called The State of Saaremaa.

Investigation of alleged corruption in Estland threatens fragile peace, embattled President
AP, Telor City

The AP understands that the Estish Freedom Front (EFF) is considering breaking off regular talks with federal officials, as the impact from an investigation into allegations of corruption in the distribution of government help for coastal communities broadens and deepens. The assistance, which was mandated in the Coastal Communities Act (CCA) of two years ago, was particularly targeted towards communities suffering from the increasingly rapid decline of Telora's whaling industry, mostly concentrated in Estland. It was earmarked for public works and small business loans for these communities, as part of a wider package of measures to address rising poverty and unemployment.

However, federal prosecutors began an investigation less than a year after the passage of the CCA, ultimately resulting in Congress appointing a Special Prosecutor, Anders Larsen, who has begun to subpoena documents and officials from both the Estish regional government, and the federal executive. The investigation relates particularly to the handling of the additional monies by regional government officials, and the placing of contracts after improper procurement processes were followed, to the financial advantage of both government employees, and the firms concerned.

Now, as the Department of Finance suspends all payments from the CCA, the EFF has added to the confusion by indicating its intention to break off its monthly meeting with federal officials as part of a protracted peace process in the oft-troubled province. The AP understands that the EFF wants funds to continue to be distributed while the investigation continues, or at least equivalent sums added to the Estish provincial treasury, considering a failure to do so an unfair penalisation of Estland. For its part, the Department of Finance has refused to consider alternative funding arrangements, saying there would be no legal basis to do so, and that it is obliged to grant the "maximum possible space" for the Special Prosecutor to complete his task.

Compounding these difficulties is the fact that President Almquist, who had performed strongly in Estland in both the first and second rounds of the Presidential election 3 years ago, is struggling in the face of falling approval ratings and a feeling of drift in his administration. His Socialist Party is increasingly divided over whether to renominate him for re-election in next year's June elections, or to seek another candidate. In the absence of strong, clear political leadership in Telor City, retaining or even restarting regular talks with the EFF may prove more difficult. The EFF has previously used stopping its participation in such processes to help gain further political leverage and so greater financial support for Estland.

Neither the Office of the President, nor the Estish Governor's Office, were available for comment on this at press time.

Armed volunteers freed in Trivodnia
AP Amstov

Dozens of armed men detained by Trivodnian authorities for attempting to fight in the Cumbrian civil war have been released.

A last minute intervention by the Office of the Supreme Prosecutor prevented the men from being charged with fighting for a foreign power, which carries a punishment of lifetime imprisonment.

In a press statement, the Supreme Prosecutor argued it was "not in the interests of the federal government" to pursue the cases as the would-be fighters "posed no direct threat" to Trivodnian security, and the trials would be time-consuming and expensive.

However, should new incidences of Trivodnian citizens trying to participate in a foreign conflict occur, future prosecutions would be "necessary" to act as a "deterrent".

Despite allegations of political pressure, the Supreme Prosecutor insisted the decision had been "independently" and without "reference to foreign policy".

Hundreds of international volunteers are already believed to be fighting alongside Cumbrian rebels against the Kadikistani-backed communist government, including a number of Trivodnians.

Whether returning fighters would be prosecuted would be decided on a case-by-case basis the Supreme Prosecutor suggested today.

The League for Armed Neutrality called the decision to free the men "wrong and dangerous" and warned it would damage relations with Kadikistan.

Both the Ministry of External Affairs and Office of the President declined to comment.

Hammersmith Settlement Bill Passed
AP Dulwich

The Hammersmith Settlement Bill has passed the Senate delegates by only a majority of nine - 84 for the bill and 66 against it. The bill, now the Hammersmith Settlement Act, legitimizes the Letter of Constitution issued by the Republic Naval Council over the administering of authority belonging to the Metropolitan Republic of Hammersmith, but with a wide compromise that evolved into a condominium between the Republic Naval Council and the Engellexian Thaumantic Company, the latter of which contended to both the Council of the Republic and the Engellexian Republic Parlement that it possessed an interest within the city of Hammersmith of equal worth to that possessed by the Republic Naval Council. The bill officially removed the democratic system formerly belonging to Hammersmith, and made legitimate, the dual control over the industrial city by the Republic Naval Council and the Engellexic Thaumantic Company, including the system by which they will exercise their dual authority.

The bill includes many stipulations that the Engellexian Republic Parlement found sufficient to guaranteeing the democratic and republican spirit of the Republic within Hammersmith; most notable of these include the circumstance, should the majority of Hammersmith citizenry be in favour of a democratic convention to effect a change of regulation within the Metropolitan Republic, it becomes the duty of the executive government of Hammersmith to issue a proclamation requiring the concerned citizenry to select the most productive of speakers to represent their interest to the executive government. When to recognise concerns among its citizenry, and thus issue a proclamation, remains absolutely to the discretion of the executive government.

Accompanying the concerns that have naturally arisen from the consideration of the compromise, and its passing in both the Bare Commons and Senate, includes the freedom to abolish regulations relating to Capital Duties and permitting the reintroduction of a Human Commodity Market on the soil of the Northern Constituent Republics for the first time since 1896. The Lord-Guarantor of the Engellexian Thaumantic Company released a statement immediately following the passing of the bill addressing that fact, informing that the [Engellexian Thaumantic] Company perceives the founding of the Hammersmith Human Commodity Exchange [HHEX] as a priority one policy for the executive government to consider within the coming weeks.

Throughout the Engellexian Republic, and notably within the Southern Constituent Republics, there has been expressed concern that, alongside the expansion of the Engell Capital Duty system, that the Hammersmith Settlement Act will have established a precedent for the Republic Naval Council and any of the Trading Companies to argue needful regulation to essentially seize, and legitimize, control over a number of cities within the Republic, and Europe, against the popular opinion of the local citizenry.

Sereno-Burgundian frontier tensions ease as Communist forces are reduced
AP Villesen

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the People's Republic of Serenierre has scaled down the presence of front-line troops from the shared border with the Grand Duchy of Burgundy. This strategic move, if confirmed, will pave the way for normalising ties between the two traditional regional rivals. The Government of the communist nation has in recent months adopted a less virtiolic attitude with regards to Bourgogne as it faces increased resistance in ethnic minority areas. State media has not reported on the Burgudian situation in many weeks and this latest move suggests that the national government is keen to keep the populace uninformed regarding this softening.

Pressure grows on Trivodnian government over Geotri visit
AP Amstov

Controversy over the decision to invite Geotri's controversial new leader to visit the Free States continues to grow, as it emerges Trivodnia is the only nation so far to have offered to host Chancellor Adolf Schmeid on its international tour.

Opposition parties are demanding the Ministry of External Affairs withdraw its invitation after the Geotrian government nationalised the country's press, forcing the closure of many Communist and other dissident newspapers.

Trivodnian external affairs minister Vladimir Pinski insisted the visit would go ahead, although Chancellor Yitzhak Epstein has since clarified Chancellor Schmeid would not meet President Meier Lauterpacht or address the Grand Assembly.

Pinski said discussions would mostly focus on improving economic ties and trying to settle disputes in the Narrow Sea. Ownership of a number of small, uninhabited islands and rocks is currently claimed by both nations, leading to several minor naval skirmishes. Pinski said he was "confident" progress could be made in the talks.

However, social democratic and liberal lawmakers in Trivodnia are demanding Schmeid, who came to power unexpectedly on a strongly nationalist platform, reverse many of his recent reforms, which they argue have been aimed at weakening his opposition.

The League for Armed Neutrality has also warned the Free States risked looking part of an "anti-Kadikistani axis" if strengthens its relationship with Geotri, given the new government's anti-Communist approach.

Trivodnia recently welcomed the royals of Bourgogne and Eiffelland in two separate state governments. Both countries have been critical of Kadikistan, with Bourgogne supporting the Ivernian government in its fight against Communist rebels in Milesia.

In a recent session of the National Assembly, Chancellor Epstein defended the decision to welcome his Geotrian counter-part, and declared Trivodnia had "the right to an independent foreign policy" and would "pursue friendship with all nations".

A date for Chancellor Schmeid's visit has yet to be announced.

Unrest Growing on Wadestone Island
AP Wadestone

Since the first attack on a military installation two weeks ago by (seemingly) Capitalist rogues, there have been at least twenty more. No group has came forward to claim responsibility for the fortnight of violence, and the military still has no idea who or what is attack it. General Douglas McGowan came forward last night for a press conference, attempting to ease the tension. However he was quoted as saying the following;

"At this time, I have not been able to reach our Intelligence Director since the first attack two weeks ago. Over one hundred messages have been sent from my office to his, and still nothing. The only thing I can say is that we will be moving in more troops onto the island. The military's job is to keep people safe, and sometimes that has to especially include our own people."

These words have sparked a lot of rumors and speculation. Many thinking that this means McGowan is suspicious of the regular citizens of Wadestone Island, and that this could be a dangerous suspicion with more firepower in the area. Conspiracy Theorists are all but convinced that this is all just a power play by the General, who they think is hell bent on establishing a Military Dictatorship across all of Sheridan. The only things we know for sure however, are that not one of these rogues has been captured, killed, or even identified. Yet, they have killed close to forty trained military soldiers.

Again any and all Sheridanians with any information pertaining to these rogues are urged to come forward. The General is offering one POUND of gold too anyone whose information turns out good. Please comrades, help us end this period of paranoia on the island.

Rift between Ivar and Villesen over Borovanger Crisis?
AP Amstov

Less than two days after the Serazin regime announced that it would become more involved in the civil war that has ravaged the neighbouring country of Borovanger since November 1956, analysts and specialists from the University of Amstov have concluded that this conflict might lead to a rift between the two major communist powers. Cause of that rift, the group of analysts says, lies within the deeply rooted sectarian nature of Kadikistani-sponsored Marxist-Leninovism. The latter has in the past proven almost incapable of working together with other branches of both socialist and communist signature. During a two-hours long press conference in the main hall of the University of Amstov the group of analysts, including two exiled political scientists from Kadikistan, used the Kadiko-CPJ Split in January-February 1956 to illustrate how the Kadikistani communists have a zero-tolerance policy towards anything that even remotely compromises its theoretical purity.

Since its creation the Red League, leading a Marxist-Leninovist insurgency in the Gallian nation of Borovanger, has been a full member of the International Association of Marxist-Leninovist Parties which upholds a strict charter that bans its members from taking an independent stance on almost every matter without prior consultation with the International's Central Committee. Since the foundation of the International the organisation has banner member parties from Mendiak, Justiza and was linked to the assassination of Johann Daas who sought to reform the Lauenburger Communist Workers' Party last year which caused a series of events that led to the creation of the People's Socialist Republic of Calidia, widely considered a Kadikistani client-state. "Recent history had taught us that Marxist-Leninovism see other branches of communism, including Villesen's Marxist-Serazinism, as rivals rather than comrades-in-arms.", Exiled Political Scientist Aleksandr Porojev said.

The analysts stressed that it is impossible to correctly analyse and interpret what will happen as no one can predict the future and also said it is likely that both communist powers will resolve these issues behind closed doors. Since the Democratic Republic of Kadikistan and the People's Republic of Serenierre entered a bilateral political and military alliance last year it is in both nation's best interest to resolve any disputes on the field in Borovanger rather than risk their common position on the international scene with anti-communist sentiment on the rise. Although not specified in the 'Treaty of Steel' between Kadikistan and Serenierre it is believed that both powers have split up the Northern Hemisphere in two respective spheres of influence, Gallia for Serenierre and Germania and Eastern Scania for Kadikistan. In that logic Borovanger would belong to the Serazinists, but with a deeply rooted Leninovist presence in the Red League and months of investments coming from Kadikistan even before the civil war erupted it is unclear if Ivar will let go of its pawns in Borovanger.

Sources: ISDP failing to make headway
AP Kretyn

Sources close to the vote-counting process in the Trivodnian state of Jatvigaria have said the newly-formed Independent Social Democratic Party, which broke away from the ruling Popular Social Democratic Party in disagreement over how to handle Kadikistan, has failed to break through.

After Kadikistan announced plans on the day of the election to build a bridge to Calidia, effectively cutting off Trivodnian access to the Gothic Sea, the ISDP hoped its anti-Kadikistani message would see it gain more seats in the state assembly. But according to officials within the Electoral Commission, the party is unlikely to return more than the 20 seats it currently holds.

The PSDP meanwhile is expected to return as the largest party, but will be forced to form a minority or coalition government as Jatvigaria's liberal and Christian parties mark a strong performance.

Commentators are suggesting news of the so-called 'Kadiki-Calidian People's Friendship Bridge' arrived too late to have had an impact on voting. The project has provoked a fierce backlash in Trivodnia, with the Kadikistani embassy temporarily blockaded by protesters and a number of Kadikistani-owned businesses attacked overnight.

Trivodnia's federal government, ruled by a coalition of nationalist parties, is claiming the bridge will never be built while also organising live-fire exercises by the Trivodnian Gothic Sea fleet in a bid to deter Kadikistan.

Republic Naval Council reacts to Hemispherical Elections
AP Hammersmith

The Republic Naval Council today released a statement detailing Typhon and Echidna, the code-names for the political campaigns of both President Anne Siward and President Seraphina Underwood, in the North and South respectively, that ended with the First Republicans sweeping a decisive majority across all political levels available in the recently created hemispherical tier within the Engellexian Republic's federation. The statement declared the campaigns an absolute success, while noting that certain details respecting the Congress of the Northern Constituent Republics, and its Southern counterpart, have yet to be fully released.

In particular, the Republic Naval Council expressed satisfaction at the substantive overall majorities achieved within the First Houses and the Second Houses in the North and South, though it noted that a much larger majority was prevented by the historical political traditions prevalent within the North. Additionally, the release put to question the belief that the Republic Naval Council had overall supremacy in the hemispherical elections which would have enabled its political friends and allies to acquire many offices. Despite an apparent superiority, the Republic Naval Council has traditionally not had so, and the feasibility of directly supporting politically aligned candidates throughout the Republic was only made possible by the lessening and disunity of the traditional factions in the Republic. It was sincerely believed that any further fracturing of the political blocs within the Republic would be negatively realised beyond the elections, and the Republic Naval Council made the decision of directly supporting those most politically aligned. The Constitution permits, clearly, the support, by autonomous-constituent institutions such as the Republic Naval Council, for political candidates in any election tier; it is simply rarely a done thing.

The statement went on to say that the Republic Naval Council fully supported Southern President Seraphina Underwood's decision to issue Executive-Order-in-Council 1/SCR for the immediate commissioning of cartographic evidence illustrating the First Republic's political determinations in the Western Clarencian Sea. Despite the reduction of the Engellexian Republic in South Himyar and the ideological tensions, the Republic Naval Council understands that leaving the region, beyond the immediate borders of the Republic, to their own devices would only cause needless tension which might reignite war. It is with that consideration that the Republic Naval Council has found itself supporting Executive-Order-in-Council 1/SCR. We believe much can be realised and achieved by such evidence.

The knowledge that President Seraphina Underwood intended to commission cartography illustrating the ideological perspective of the region, had not previously been released by any person aligned to the First Republic movement, though representatives for leading personalities within the First and Second Houses in the Southern Congress have all independently confirmed pre-determined intention, following the Executive-Order-in-Council.

Citizens across the Southern Constituent Republics have been heavily positive about the press release and the knowledge it contained.

Diplomatic summit held between Engellex & Serenierre
AP Villesen

The Government of Serenierre has released a statement in which it has announced that at the urging of its counterpart in Dulwich, a diplomatic summit had been organised to discuss the ongoing regional tensions and the continuing troubles in Borovanger, where a civil war has raged on for many months now. The statement went on to say that the Commissar for External Relations, Charles R. Bertrand, would be meeting his counterpart, Lord Benjamin Boxer, and establish an initial line of communication on the main issues related to Borovanger. The statement concluded with remarks which stated that the issue of the Pelasgian spies was not for foreign powers to dictate and was not on the agenda of the summit.

The release of the statement by Villesen at a time when regional tensions are rising was truly surprising. While Serenierre has been urging for a multilateral international effort to achieve peace in Borovanger for some time, the lack of any success on that front seems to have propelled the diplomats in the People's Republic to have approached the other major powers of Gallia. According to our sources, the Serenien Government has already approached the Grand Ducal Government in @ on the issue of Borovanger and is now embarking on the most pragmatic of diplomatic endeavours in securing some form of a trilateral regional consensus on the situation in Borovanger.

When asked for further comment, the Government of Serenierre refused to comment. Calls to the Embassy of Engellex in Villesen have gone unanswered at the time of publication.
