Noks government in exile formed in Kalamba City
AP Kalamba City

In a press conference today in Kalamba City, the capital of the Republic of Central Himyar, famous Noks exile and dissident Kalombo Mukamba has announced that he will cooperate with the government of the Republic of Central Himyar and the Natalian representatives of the Blue Legion, present in Himyar, and will form the first free government of the Noks State, which will represent the Noks Democratic Republic in exile, condemning the continued existance of company rule in the Nokslands and the continued Tarusan domination over areas in Himyar.

Kalombo Mukamba, who has proclaimed himself the President of the newly formed Noks Democratic Republic, has announced that he has also formed the Democratic Army, which will be formed in Central Himyar, but it will contain many revolutionary cells within the Noks Free State, its ultimate goal being the abolition of colonial company rule and the end of Gallo-Germanian and Tarusan colonialism in Himyar in General and in the Noks Free State in particular.

At the ceremony, Victor Banda, Prime Minister of Central Himyar has announced that he has donated a 5 hectare compound within Kalamba City to represent the headquarters in exile of the Noks Democratic Republic and that the preparations of the Noks Democratic Army is in full swing with two divisions already formed and many others being prepared, nearly all being dissidents who escaped Tarusan colonialism but secretly vying to return back home.

"The days of colonialism are long gone, especially when we see the inhumane mercantile and corporatist regime that destroying the human spirit and enslaves the black people of Himyar to the will of the Tarusan colonialists. It is time to see our homelands free and we will be ready to fight and become martyrs for our freedom. Company rule in the Nokslands have seen our people dehumanised and transformed into machines that are worth nothing if they can't harvest enough rubber. The lands of Himyar have been transformed by Gallo-Germanian powers into the harvest grounds for too much and now, the time has finally come for us to fight back!" stated the President of the Noks Democratic Republic, Kalombo Mukamba.

The government in exile of the Noks has announced that they are rising as an example for the whole of HImyar against colonialism, but they see the formation of the government in exile of Eugenia as the example to follow on the path of national emancipation against imperialism.

NEW: Tianlong VP to visit Azraq to discuss conflict in al-Magrab and Hajr
AP Jugol

The Vice President of the Republic of Tianlong is to meet with officials of the Abrahamic State of Azraq to discuss the unfolding conflict in the former European Forum mandates of al-Magrab and Hajr, the Azraqi foreign ministry has stated.

Lai Lingxin is due to fly to the Azraqi capital Jugol imminently, according to an official statement. Azraq's representatives in the talks were unconfirmed, but Affiliated Press sources understand a cross-ministerial delegation will greet him and briefings with Azraq's armed forces and intelligence services are planned.

Azraq has massively ramped up its public rhetoric in opposition to the Gothic Sea Pact's intervention in the Magrab and Hajr. Yesterday, Jugol issued a 72-hour ultimatum for the alliance to withdraw its military forces, with unspecified consequences if the ultimatum is not met, and openly floated the possibility of establishing "buffer zones" in both countries to create safe spaces for refugees.

Analysts are sceptical as to whether Azraq actually intends to militarily intervene in the conflict however. The Azraqi government has also invited the Gothic Sea Pact to Jugol for talks, on the condition no further military forces are deployed to the region.

The Frankish and Tarusan Empires initially seemed receptive to the idea of a joint summit. Yet news of Tianlong's vice president visit may force them to reconsider experts say. "If Jugol is seen as playing games or being two-faced that will not sit well," explains one researcher at an international think-tank.

Regiomontano government in exile formed in Callao
AP Callao

Regiomontaneros (people of Monterrey) protesting the referendum regarding the future of their nation in which the population supposedly voted to become part of Gran Occidentia, have come together in Callao, the capital of Corrientes, to form a government in exile of the Free State of Monterrey, the state proclaimed just a year ago after the EF Mandate of Monterrey was disbanded, and now, the government in Puerto Angeles pushes for its replacement with the province of Tapenaga.

The government of Pedro Herrera Rasgado of the Federal Republic of Corrientes has been extremely critical of what has called a "neo-imperialist move, unworthy of the Occidental family of Thaumantican nations", calling the government of the People's State of Gran Occidentia out for its policy regarding Monterrey. Callao, together with the other big cities of Corrientes such as Potobamba, San Sebastian and Rio Verde, have become central points for the Regiomontaneros to migrate in search for better lives, as their homeland was collapsing during the disbandment of the EF Mandates. Because of the generalised chaos of the bureaucracy of Monterrey, it is impossible to say exactly what is the true number of emigrants, but the Correntine Ministry of Interior stated that the Federal Republic has been the main target for emigrants.

The Monterrey Crisis is the biggest clash in this century between two Thaumantican Occidental nations, which usually had very cordial relations, especially since the socialist revolution in San Jose and the Constitutional Revolution in Corrientes. Even so, many fear that if the situation does not improve, both Corrientes and Gran Occidentia might clash, with many fearing that the future of the reformist faction within the integralist party in Gran Occidentia stands in the way it manages the crisis. The same can be said for Corrientes, which has been dominated for many decades by the Nationalist Revolutionary Movement, with a slow trend of eroding support being observed in the past years. If any of the two governments is to be seen as a loser in this, many fear that the political paradigm in both nations will be fully redefined.

The government in exile of the Free State of Monterrey has been proclaimed by the National Front, a Regiomontano nationalist group with a left wing populist rhetoric, headed by Diego Andrade Seco, nicknamed "El Jaguacito", the small jaguar, thanks to his small stature and very strong will. Andrade was born in Embarcadero but then studied at the Rodrigo Alarcón Military Academy in Callao, and was a colonel of the Public Force, the security forces of Monterrey during the Mandate days, and then a General of the National Army of Monterrey. He has taken refuge in Callao during the referendum, calling out the Gran Occidentians for the alleged frauds that took place, such as intimidation of voters, ballot stuffing and even forced disappearances of nationalist figures.

Clashes continue East of Al Gharb, almost half of Al-Magrab under Tarusan control
AP Kremlyov

Reports of the continued battle between imperial troops and Magrabian government forces east of the city have continued to trickle in amid limited ability to report on events from the city of Al-Gharb, which has firmly been under the Tarusan control for weeks. The situation appears to be bleak for the government forces as continued advances against their positions and the movement of the larger heavier armed Tarusan forces from the south have begun to limit options available to the beleaguered forces. A majority of the western half of the country has fallen to the Imperial Armed Forces of Tarusa with the majority of the conquest having been the responsibility of 106th while the marine forces of the amphibious operation have undoubtedly taken the heaviest of the fighting against the limited government forces that could not fully exert authority over the country themselves since the end of the mandate system.

It appears that the forces will have to attempt and withdraw to the south-east to avoid encirclement or continue fighting the losing battle awaiting other government forces from Barqah that have yet to begin movement fearing an amphibious invasion from the coast or other actions from across the border by the Gothic Sea Pact.

Campo Hortensia attack forces the Junta of National Liberation to go on a different path
Op-ed by Juan Andrés Espinar, Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences, Equatorial University, Callao
AP Callao

The bomb attack in Campo Hortensia, whose new reports raise the victim count to 43 and the wounded count to 81, has forced the Junta of National Liberation to go on a completely different path. The wounding of Diego Andrade Seco, known as El Jaguarcito, has shocked many, especially as his wounds are critical, and many believe he won't survive the night. During this time, Subcomandante Pablo, whose real name is Pablo Justin Prats Molina, has announced that he will become the interim chairman of the Junta of National Liberation and has already delegated the supreme command of the National Revolutionary Army to Subcomandante Fernando, whom has been described by many as being the most competent of the four commanders of the National Revolutionary Army.

After a teleconference with the nationalist NGOs and other Monterrey notables, Pablo Prats announced that the Junta understands the difficulties of waging this war, for both the citizens of Monterrey, which seem very divided within the ideals of liberation and the pragmatism of remaining a part of Gran Occidentia as the Province of Tapenaga. The waking up to this reality has been pretty brutal to many members of the National Revolutionary Army, who thought that their war in Monterrey would be a great victorious and glorious march to Embarcadero, with the people expecting them with open arms. It proved to be the other way around, as the Acahay Valley, which is the backbone connecting the Naccos Depression with the Coastal Pampas has been thoroughly defended by Gran Occidentian soldiers, while Embarcadero was much friendlier towards syndicalism and integralism than ever thought of, forcing the National Revolutionary Army into a pitched war of attrition, which many members of the Junta know that it can't be won. It can't because of the geography that curses the eastern half of Monterrey and because of the international situation.

The geography of Monterrey is very complicated by the way the Nevada Mountains divide the nation in two. If we take out the Valley of the Acahay, which is the main crossing point, there are only three more. The Western Nevadas, which are under the control of the Tapenagan security forces, have one, and its an extremely easy cross along the Valley of the Rio Fria, then down to the San Rafael Depression and then it's just a step to Yhu, in the lowlands. The Eastern Nevadas are much more complicated, for one needs in one case to cross the Piridebuy river and then the Mandujira Valley to end up towards Ybicuy, while in the other case, one has to cross the Rio Confuso and then to go along the Valley of the Rio Negro. This last one is the only workable one besides the Valley of the Acahay and this is the one Subcomandante Fernando used to cross the mountains. Drug cartels such as the Indomables control the Rio Fria, while the Valle de Acahay Cartel was dislodged by the military operations and had to move to the San Rafael Depression, blocking thus the passes in the Western Nevadas, making the Valle de Acahay extremely important for Gran Occidentia and their allies. In the meantime, in the Eastern Nevadas, the Indigenous Revolutionary Socialist movement has control of the Mandujira Valley, which makes the crossing extremely difficult, something seen in the fact that Subcomandante Alejandro is still blocked there, while Subcomandante Laura always attacks very lightly the Valley of the Acahay as she is aftraid of a stab in the back from the indigenists. A third cartel reigns in the upper Mandujira, Los Silvanos, which makes it clear that the only usable pass is the one along the Confuso River, but its lack of decent infrastructure still makes the crossing very difficult.

The other issue is the international situation. Corrientes has been supportive of an independent Monterrey, and recognised the Junta of National Liberation as a government in exile. But this and even arming the National Revolutionary Army is one thing, and represents a very light support against what Gran Occidentia does to support the existence of Tapenaga, which in the end, even if autonomous and devolved, it still is seen by Puerto Angeles as an integral part of their national territory. The terrorist attack in Callao has also shocked the Correntine public opinion. The society there has many traumas brought during the era of the military regimes from 1975 to 1984, when the narcotrafficking, oppression but also chaos and anarchy reigned supreme, so for many, seeing gunfights in central Callao was a shock that opened many old wounds. Even so, the Correntine security forces acted with extreme professionalism and were very efficient, but the attack on the embassy brought a war which the Correntines saw as being in a faraway place, into their front yards and it shocked them, turning them sour on the events in Monterrey. What we saw with the huge peace march that brought over ten million people on the streets in Corrientes can easily be seen as a society washing its hands of interventionism in Monterrey.

This situation made it clear that the Junta will be receiving less and less support from Callao, if any starting from now, unless they start peace negotiations, and that is what Subcomandante Pablo asked for when he announced in the teleconference with the other Subcomandantes, the nationalist NGOs and the influential planters which supported the National Revolutionary Army. What Pablo Prats called for was the revival of a historical political project in Monterrey, named Los Altos, which was active in the first half of the 19th century and was revived in two more instances in the late 19th century and the mid 20th century. In 1821, when the Viceroyalty of Nuevo Tiburia proclaimed its independence as the Republic of Gran Occidentia, and was followed the next year by the Republic of Corrientes, nationalists in Puerto Florida, in Monterrey proclaimed the independence of the Republic of Los Altos, as the independent version of the Captaincy-General of Monterrey. Of course, everyone knows the history that followed, namely that the royalists managed to defeat Los Altos and Monterrey was kept as a colony until 1940, when the Josefino revolution took place and the European Forum gave Monterrey as a Mandate to be administered by Gran Occidentia and Corrientes.

The problem is that the Monterrey identity is a colonial one that many in the territory don't feel attached too, and the fact that Jaguarcito kept it when he called for the beginning of the independence was, it might have been his hubris, whereas Tapenaga represents the name the natives used for the territory, so it had a stronger vibe for many. At the same time, many intellectuals and people with a sense of history and political conscience in the nation understand that Los Altos would be the main identity for independence and liberation.

That is why, Pablo Prats organised the teleconference and even invited journalists in it. He first wanted to tell the world that Jaguarcito, even if he would survive, has been sidelined, and that he understands the need to make peace as quick as possible, to at least keep the territories the nationalists occupied, before the integralists in Embarcadero receive the necessary weapons from Gran Occidentia and the "peacekeepers" from Puerto Angeles, so as to go unto the offensive. What was the most important bit besides the beginning of the peace negotiations was the proclamation that the National Revolutionary Army won't go into offensive anymore, but rather will concentrate on what it captured, so that the Junta can begin nation-building in what they liberation, the territory which they will start calling from now on the Estado Libre de Los Altos, The Free State of Los Altos (of the Highlands). Pablo Prats announced that he will negotiate directly with Puerto Angeles, not Embarcadero, for he doesn't see them as sovereign, but anything they decide upon will be put unto a referendum so that the people of the nation can vote if they accept the agreement they will reach and the borders between Los Altos and Tapenaga will be decided on that referendum.

The Evil sitting in Power in Tarusa
AP Editorial by Tatyana Solovieff

Rumors from a high ranking defector of the former Tsarist regime in Kremlyov who has spoken out against the current Tsarist regime has led to allegations of a chemical weapons program that is pressing forward aggressively within the tightly controlled nation. Under Tsar Ivan, it is claimed, that the Empire resumed its chemical weapons program that had been long dormant for decades first starting with easier compounds and research and testing for more dangerous compounds to be produced to defend the nation in the future against any aggressors.

Claims that members of the advisory council that had long been confidents of the former Tsar, the defector included, had been deposed and framed to be responsible for the assassination and the death of another world leader also come from the source, who is for the first time revealing the situation unfolding in the Empire in the hopes of finding support on the global level to rectify the situation and displace a great evil in the eyes of many, saving countless lives of his fellow countrymen. Crackdowns and a loss of several freedoms and even greater controls over the media in the country that was known for its tight control of news and print.

While these are yet to be founded in truth, it is speculated that some sort of truth could potentially be found in his statements, and if there is no truth or validity to the statements from the man in hiding abroad then it can only lead some to wonder what exactly is occurring within the vast borders of the empire and if there is more dissent within than is being allowed to be seen abroad.

Ebria turns again towards the Gothic Sea
AP Valls

Immediately after his sworn in, Prime Minister Julio Moreno-Navarro of Ebria has met with the Supreme Junta of National Defence, the institution which oversees the functionality of the Catholic and Royal Armed Forces, and has stated the necessity of Ebria to return to the Gothic Sea and to continue trading especially with Salen, Metsamaa, Tarusa, Ostmark and Lethonia. Initially, the previous prime minister, Pedro Herrera-Rasgado has announced that the United Kingdom will not aid ships willing to go to dangerous areas, announcing that the areas to the east of the Tarusan port of Piramida and the Gutnish coast to be no go areas, recommending traders to go the overland route through Ebria, Csengia, Thuringau and Lethonia. Even so, the transition is a slow one to take place and naval transportation is still necessary for trading with Jysken-Ostveg, Metsamaa and faraway lands such as Ostmark or Tarusa.

This decision has been costly for the premiership of Pedro Herrera, whose popularity has sunk, and has pretty much brought the National Front and Julio Moreno in power. As a response to that, the new government of Ebria has decided to go against the previous policy, and will bring Ebrian shipping back into the Gothic Sea, promising hte return of the naval link between Ebria and Metsamaa, Ostmark, Salen, Jysken and Tarusa.

The Supreme Jutna of National Defence has announced that it will mobilise elements of the Catholic and Royal Navy into the Gothic Sea and will lead convoys of commercial ships towards ports in the interior of the sea escorted by one or two frigates of the navy. It is expected that no more than five frigates will be mobilised at any time, with convoys expected to be formed out of five to ten commercial ships at most.

This decision comes in the aftermath of the Holy Frankish Empire's anti-piracy action which was stopped after two frankish captains bumped two frigates. While many are still listening to the HFE's policy of calling it a Gothic Sea issue, the recent failure has been a big dent on the Empire's prestige and weight and it is expected to return from a policy of unilateral actions to a policy of international solidarity.

"We plan to escort Ebrian ships who plan to travel from the Meridian Sea to Piramida, Gothrehavn, Herenthheim, Wien, Kremlyov and Uuslossa, with each convoy escorted by one or two C&RN frigates. This is the first step and the next one will be the organisation of an European Forum action, within the White Helm program, to ensure that there is an international reaction to the fact that mere pirates are still forcing their way into the Gothic Sea and attack shipping like it's the 17th century and forces nations like Tarusa to enforce goods rationing. We call the Holy Frankish Empire to end their policy of unilateralism and join the international effort to defend shipping by supporting us both in the Gothic Sea and in the European Forum," state Prime Minister Julio Moreno-Navarro.

Did a Great Political Shift in the Western Hemisphere take place or not?
Op-ed by Juan Andrés Espinar, Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences, Equatorial University, Callao
AP Callao

The politics of Tiburan Westernesse, or Occidentia, have been dominated since the mid late century by two general constants, an authoritarian, integralist right wing state in the north, the People's State of Gran Occidentia, and a democratic, largely left wing state, the United States of Corrientes. The latter has gone through phases, from a democratic state which is dominated by the Herrera political dynasty and from time to time, short phases when the Radical Civic Union would govern, but also went through authoritarian regimes, like the military governments from the mid 1970s to 1985, but even then, compared to the totalitarian nature and pervasiveness of the Gran Occidentian integralist security aparatus, the Correntines were mild, and the state was always too weak to promote such a regime. This created a dichotomy between a libertarian and liberal Corrientes to the moralist and statist Gran Occidentia, which has defined the politics of Occidentia for nearly a century, but things have changed in the past year.

Last year, Corrientes and Gran Occidentia have fought a proxy war, through two factions in Monterrey, an integralist faction which wished to see the nation unite with Gran Occidentia, and a nationalist faction which aspired to see Monterrey develop into a functional, sovereign, and independent nation-state. The 6 day war in June 2022 has brought upon the creation of the province of Tapenaga, for the north-western half of Monterrey, which has united with Gran Occidentia, and the creation of the Free State of Los Altos in the south-eastern half, but more important than that, it has brought a lot of resentment on both sides. In Corrientes, it was the backdrop of the CTT bankruptcy which has brought forth the land tenure crisis and the land reform. All those have brought forth a lot of frustration for many correntines, which in the end has ended the domination of the MNR in federal politics and brought the Radical Civic Union to power. Corrientes' ally, Los Altos is also filled to the brim with frustration, especially as President Pablo Prats has vowed revenge on the assassination of El Jaguarcito, the first leader of the nationalist movement and vowed to see Los Altos and Tapenaga united under the flag of independent Monterrey during his tenure as president. In the past year he has been buying a lot of military equipment and preparing the National Liberation Army, which with Correntine financing starts to make Los Altos feel like an army with a state attached, rather than the other way around.

On the other side, Gran Occidentian society has exploded after decades upon decades of totalitarian rule, and this has created a rift between the mainstream Occidentians, and the new Occidentians, namely the Tapenagans. The latter have joined the People's State explicitly because of the integralist model of governance and administration, but just mere months after their ascension, the revolution in Puerto Angeles broke out and has brought an end to a regime which has dominated the nation since the 1940s. A military, liberal and left wing interim government has been set up, but no elections have yet been announced and no great constitutional changes, other than a series of decrees which provide more stylistic and semantic changes, such as renaming the country from the People's State of Gran Occidentia to the Republic of Gran Occidentia. At the same time, integralist hardliners have united with the frustrated Tapenagans and have risen up in a counter-revolution, trying to safeguard their old regime, but to the shock of everyone, especially in the international stage, the interim government unleashed the full power of the Gran Occidentian military upon them, going as far as to using chemical weapons on the rebels, in what was a show of force, but ended up turning Gran Occidentia into an even greater pariah state that it was before.

On paper, it was known that even from the 1970s, Gran Occidentia had great stashes of chemical weapons, but the use of the weapons against its own people by a regime that presented itself to be better than than its predecessor. To the shock of many, the Integralists always flaunted their chemical weapons, but knew to never use it. This has also brought forth a wave of delegitimization for CETO, which was attacked by the Tarusan diplomats for accepting such a loose canon of a country in their alliance, while allegedly promoting democracy and human rights. Since then, Gran Occidentia hasn't fully recovered from the revolution and has created a refugee crisis with many wanting to leave the country, with the goal of reaching fellow Tiburano nations, such as Corrientes to the south, Implaria to the north or San Jose to the east.

This change, with Corrientes electing a right-wing government and Gran Occidentia going for a left-wing one, has been called out by many, who were seeing it as a historical shift, which we would probably never see again in our lifetimes, but still, one should be weary when hailers of apocalypse and doom do their thing, for in the end, between the two nations, nothing really has changed. In Corrientes, Herrerismo is so ingrained, that Julio Moreno knows that going against the heritage of the Herrera political dynasty would be a career suicide for him. On the other side, the actions of the interim government still show an authoritarian and statist regime which will be ready to step on cadavers just to keep the image of itself as extremely strong. But in actuality, what those changes seem to bring is in Corrientes, a Herrerismo without Herrera, and in Gran Occidentia, an integralism without integralism. All the changes are superficial and only at rhetoric level. The only thing that is sure, is that the Monterrey Question wasn't sorted last summer, and now it seems people are gearing up for one last showdown for it.

Fuelled by football for morale and aid for development, Monterrey is rising
AP Embarcadero

As the sun sets over Embarcadero on the Bahia de la Plata, the sounds of shovels, tractors and pickaxes can still be heard, for a long time as the night falls, but work continues as thousands of workers continue cleaning up, refurbishing, restoring buildings in the city, especially in the Barrio del Este, which was completely levelled by Integralist carpet bombing in the 7 Day War, a year ago. For the few visiting the small central Occidentian nation nowadays, the atmosphere is something they never forget. While Gallo-Germania is bracing for a continental war as the fear of spillovers from the Tarusan Civil War reaches extreme levels, Central Occidentia is licking its wounds and it seems it is highly successful at re-sewing its social fabric.

More than 2 billion Quris have been offered to Monterrey as part of the Paz del Oeste Agreement and already the government of Pablo Prats announced that it will use the money to rebuild the destroyed parts of Embarcadero, with the Barrio del Este set to become one of Occidentia's largest housing complexes, preparing to house more than 25,000 people. The money will also be used to repair the infrastructure of the country, with 3 bridges over the Acahay river needing to be rebuilt or repaired, the same with the railway between Embarcadero and Puerto Florida, which goes further into Corrientes, towards La Cruz. A part of the money was kept to be used as a development fund, from which low-interest loans can be accessed by local investors, as a way to give an impulse to the nation's economy.

In what has been seen by many as a war torn country, a reconstruction of the social fabric has been necessary, as the left bank and right bank territories of the Acahay river have warred and prepared for a 2nd round until very recently. While this is a very long process, it seems that two main political and social vectors are significantly hurrying this process. The first one is the Forget and Forgive Law, which was part of the Paz del Oeste Agreement, signed by Gran Occidentia, Corrientes and Monterrey, which ensured that all non-integralist Tapenagan administration will be integrated within the unified Regiomontañero one, and it forces the new constitution to form a federal system which will also have a Vice-President from the right bank, all while also creating a consultative council which will ensure no law will discriminate any part of the nation.

The 2nd, and probably, for the people of Monterrey, most important, is the national football team, Los Mangos, nicknamed after their orange uniforms. Football is the national sport of the nation and while the cultures are essentially the same with the division between Tapenaga and Los Altos being political, it is still seen as a major common factor that both areas respect and love. Los Mangos lack the great facilities of teams such as Torrientes or Tricolores, hence why they don't suffer a handicap is they train somewhere else than their base in Puerto Florida. They have moved from city to city, playing football with amateurs and children to improve their status and publicise the idea of a unified Monterrey, between their serious training. Many Regiomontañeros are hoping that a victory of their team will provide a perfect story for their rise.

*This is a Broadcast from the Kingdom of Csengia being carried by the AP for global audiences*

"My fellow countrymen, great hardships and times are upon us once more. We all remember the Pannonian Civil War, a conflict that was ignited suddenly over differing opinions and years of growing unrest with the ruling government. If it had not been for the Empire, who knows what would have happened to our country? It would have been further divided, further weakened, and potentially still in conflict. The Tarusans came to aid our generals, they disregarded the illegal no fly zones and other actions taken against our nation as the Democracies of this world attempted to force their will upon us. They shed blood on the battlefield to retake Kispest from the communists, they shed blood in the South to hold Sankt Viet. They stood beside of us when the Democratic nations of this world attempted to dismember us. It is why we, why I, stand beside my Husband Konstantin and the Tarusans that have pledged to put him on the throne and remove the wickedness from Kremlyov that has taken hold.

While this would seem straight forward as we are standing side by side in the struggle against Ivan, the Democratic Forces once more have taken aim at our Kingdom. The "Csengian Patriotic Council", headquartered in Valls. This blasphemous "government in exile", made up of those who fled this country when it was in chaos, instead of choosing to stay, and fight for preservation of their country as we all did, with many giving the ultimate sacrifice as my own father did. This however would not be enough reasoning to be suspicious of what is being planned against our nation while we are at what they believe to be our weakest moments again.

We have CETO member states under an EF banner building on our borders, for a conflict that has not reached our borders. We have some of the very same states that are not CETO members participating under the EF banner that had attempted to influence the civil war in ways to dismantle our institutions, providing arms to those who fought against us, including the death of the military leadership that led to my own governments formation. I shall give a moment to my Husband to speak"

Citizens of Csengia, the lies, the abhorrent propaganda being spread by the Democratic States of the world against the Kingdom while it stands besides me and those who have taken arms up alongside my men. The Empire while it fights against itself, will still answer the call to defend the integrity of the Kingdom. We are mightier than any force that can stand against us. Your nation has answered the highest call, that which is to defend those who will defend you. The war may someday be on our borders in the Kingdom, none of us would believe it possible as our own might is greater than that of Ivans, it will be by the same forces that sought to destroy Pannonia, the "sick man" of Germania.

This shall not come to pass, should they come. They meet in Valls, right across the bay, and across the bay they shall stay, they deploy troops to the borders under the European Forum which holds no jurisdiction here. The Kingdom will stand, the Empire will stand under the righteous. The 10th Guards Tank Army will move from WestMark to the field on the Serault Peninsula, the 35th Combined Arms Army shall move from Sankt Viet to the Rheinian border. These Imperial troops will mark the first line of defense of the Kingdom. Let the White Helms see our resolve as they peer across the border.

OSTMARK'S PRAGMATIC NEUTRALITY: FOSTERING STABILITY AMIDST TARUSA'S CIVIL UNREST
AP Wien

WIEN (Ostmark) -
As the civil war rages on in the neighboring Tsardom of Tarusa, the small but resilient Republic of Ostmark has unsurprisingly chosen a path of neutrality, abstaining from interfering or taking sides in the conflict. The decision reflects Ostmark's commitment to maintaining stability, safeguarding its own interests, and prioritizing humanitarian aid over military intervention.

Under the leadership of Chancellor Karina Berger of the Social Democratic Party of Ostmark, the country has embraced a policy of pragmatic neutrality when it comes to foreign affairs. This approach recognizes the importance of stability and peaceful coexistence in the region, while also safeguarding Ostmark's economic interests, including its trading relationship with Tarusa.

Historically, relations between the Republic of Ostmark and the Tarusan Tsardom have been marked by tension and hostilities. However, in recent years, the two nations have quietly shifted towards a more neutral diplomatic relationship, recognizing the benefits of maintaining peaceful trade ties and avoiding unnecessary conflicts. This pragmatic approach has allowed both countries to focus on their internal politics.

Ostmark, being a small nation with very limited defense military capabilities, recognizes the limitations of direct or indirect military intervention in Tarusa's internal affairs. Instead, the government of Ostmark has chosen to uphold its tradition of humanitarian aid and assistance. The Ostmarkian Red Cross has mobilized its assets, standing ready to intervene should the civil war spill over into the Kingdom of Csengia or pose a direct threat to the lives and well-being of civilians near the Ostmark-Tarusa border. During the Pannonian Civil War, the Ostmarkian Red Cross was the only humanitarian organization allowed to operate in the city of Kispest, with the authorization and approval of Pannonian authorities.

Chancellor Karina Berger emphasized the importance of Ostmark's neutral stance during a recent address to the nation, stating, "Our commitment to neutrality in the face of Tarusa's civil unrest stems from our belief in the power of diplomacy, stability, and humanitarian assistance. We stand ready to support and provide aid to those affected by the conflict, but we understand the complexities and risks associated with direct or indirect military involvement."

While Ostmark relies on Tarusa for certain raw resources, such as oil and minerals, the country has recognized that a peaceful and stable Germania is in the best interest of Ostmark. By fostering trade relations in a peaceful environment, Ostmark can continue to benefit from economic cooperation and maintain stability within its borders.

Ostmark's commitment to neutrality should not be mistaken for indifference. Rather, it reflects a calculated approach to international relations, one that seeks to strike a delicate balance between safeguarding its own interests and promoting peace and stability in the region. Ostmark remains dedicated to its tradition of providing humanitarian aid, ready to step in and support affected populations should the need arise.

As the civil war in Tarusa unfolds, Ostmark's pragmatic neutrality serves as a testament to its commitment to peace, stability, and humanitarian values. By prioritizing diplomatic channels, trade relations, and humanitarian aid, Ostmark aims to play a constructive role in fostering stability and prosperity in the region, while simultaneously ensuring the well-being of its own citizens. Chancellor Karina Berger's stance sends a clear message that, even in the face of neighboring conflicts, the small north-eastern Germanian Republic has rebranded itself as an oasis of political stability and economic opportunities, and the pursuit of a peaceful, cooperative future with its neighbors and the rest of the international community is paramount.

Kingdom Responds to More Hostility
AP Kispest

(Kispest) With the announcement that Rheinbund is beginning to ramp up production of munitions and the deployment of more troops to the Kingdoms borders, on top of the proclaimed White Helmet deployments, the Queen has responded in kind by ordering the 4th Infantry Division and 10th Engineer Brigade from the bases in Halaszbastaya to the Rheinian border. "First it was the proclaimed deployment of the European Forum White Helmets, now they are moving more forces to the border with the Kingdom, the perceived secondary threat is real and further proof the EF is broken to allow mob rule by the democratic world.

OUTDATED YET NECESSARY: OSTMARK'S LANDWEHR FACE DEFENSE CHALLENGES
AP Wien

You must be registered for see images

WIEN (Ostmark) - Ostmark's Landwehr, the Territorial Defense force of the small Germanian Republic, finds itself in a unique position where the size and capabilities of its land forces are both disproportionate and outdated. With a population of a little less than 6,000,000 inhabitants, the Landwehr's strength of 15,000 active soldiers, 7,000 reservists, and the potential mobilization of an additional 60,000 personnel within three months may seem excessive. However, the reality of regional defense threats, including the ongoing Tarusan Civil War, necessitates the maintenance of such a large land force.

The Landwehr's armored component, consisting of 120 KOBRA-76 Main Battle Tanks, provides a considerable armored presence. While these tanks may not match the advanced technologies employed by neighboring nations, their presence serves as a deterrent and a symbol of Ostmark's commitment to defend its sovereignty. The Landwehr's arsenal also includes a significant number of infantry fighting vehicles, almost 7000, offering mobility and fire support to the infantry troops operating in various combat scenarios. Although these vehicles may lack the cutting-edge features of their counterparts in other countries, they contribute to Ostmark's defense capabilities.

It is crucial to acknowledge that the Landwehr's equipment is outdated if compared to modern military standards. This reality presents challenges in terms of maintaining operational efficiency and keeping pace with technological advancements in the region. Ostmark's defense forces may face difficulties when engaging with more modern and sophisticated adversaries. The nation's military leadership is well aware of this issue and recognizes the need for modernization efforts.

However, the financial constraints faced by Ostmark in recent years have limited the ability to allocate significant funds for military modernization. The country has had to make difficult decisions, dramatically decreasing the size of the military to redirect funds towards welfare programs and the economic transition from the centrally-planned National-Syndicalist economy to a free-market economy. The government's commitment to reducing the pay gap and implementing comprehensive welfare programs has been commendable, but it has come at the expense of military modernization. Balancing the demands of social welfare with defense requirements is a challenging task for any nation, particularly one with limited resources like Ostmark. The outdated nature of the land forces is a consequence of these difficult choices. However, Ostmark's dedication to social progress and equality cannot be overlooked, as it reflects the nation's commitment to ensuring the well-being of its citizens.

As Ostmark continues to navigate these challenges, it is crucial for the government to explore innovative approaches to military modernization. Seeking international partnerships and leveraging technology transfer programs can help bridge the gap between Ostmark's outdated military equipment and the capabilities of more advanced nations. Collaboration with friendly nations in the region can provide valuable opportunities for joint exercises, training programs, and knowledge sharing.

While the Landwehr's current state may pose limitations, its existence and readiness are necessary for Ostmark's defense against potential threats. The ongoing Tarusan civil war and the overall security landscape in the region underscore the importance of maintaining a strong and capable land force. Ostmark's military leaders must continue to assess and prioritize modernization efforts, seeking cost-effective solutions that enhance the nation's defensive capabilities.

In conclusion, Ostmark's land forces may be outdated due to financial constraints and competing priorities, but their necessity cannot be underestimated. The nation's commitment to social welfare and economic transition has resulted in difficult choices, including limited military modernization. However, Ostmark's dedication to the well-being of its citizens remains a driving force. As the nation navigates these challenges, exploring innovative approaches and seeking international collaborations will be key to bridging the technological gap and ensuring the Landwehr's effectiveness in defending Ostmark's sovereignty.

Clashes between White and Blue Carians as rival governments form
AP Nikaia

Clashes between rival Carian forces have been reported near the northern Carian city of Leopolis, including casualties. In Nikaia, the official Carian government, which is controlled by the pro-Pelasgian Whites, has proclaimed the annexation of the country into Pelasgia as an Autonomous Republic, a decision which it hopes to approve via referendum later this month. In Leopolis, however, the deposed Despot of Caria has managed to gather significant backing from the pro-independence Blues, as well as some smaller paramilitary forces that he was reorganised into the Despotic Guard.

An attempt by the Carian National Guard to converge on the city to arrest the Despot and several of his backers ended in failure when forces loyal to Attalus fired upon the National Guard. There were reports of at least one National Guard helicopter being downed, and a Despotic Guard convoy being destroyed by the Pelasgian Air Force in a retaliatory strike. As of now, it is unclear whether clashes are ongoing. The Carian Orthodox Church has attempted to mediate a settlement between the two camps, but the religious diversity of Caria makes that difficult, unlike in Euxenia.

Right now, the possibility of a referendum being organised under the joint supervision of the Orthodox and Catholic churches (@Radilo ), rather than the one presently scheduled to be held by the Nikaia-based authorities, is being seen as the best hope for further bloodshed to be avoided.

Ebria: Between peace discourse and silent preparation
AP Valls

It is no secret that the policies of Ebria have alternated between hawkish and doveish, with many seeing the existence of the Csengian Patriotic Council and its de jure statal formation, the Independent State of Csengia, as an Ebrian sponsored group, as a form of Ebrian hawish positioning against Csengia and Tarusa, as the kingdom was critical to much of the events in the Pannonian Crisis. Those positions were also balanced with positions of pragmatism, peace and deescalation in the European Forum, which can be seen by the fact that Ebria did recognise Csengia as the successor of Pannonia last year and was even supportive of turning Zara into an autonomous duchy within in to replace the state of anarchy, blockade and lack of international recognition, especially after the Zaran socialist coup d'etat.

Today, Ebria seems to be still playing the balancing act, as the Csengian dissidents have left the Crownlands after never being officially recognised, and even reopening the border along the Serrault Isthmus, with commercial traffic returning between Ebria and Csengia. This of course, is still working together with the European Forum positions of Ebria, which at the same time, supported positions such as resolutions 9, 10 and even a controversial resolution 11, which called for the replacement of Kremlyov faction in the EF (which was absent and left the position anyway) with the Kispest faction. The resolution seemed to have been too much by even the hawkish standards and has been rejected by the other members. Still, at the security council, Ebria has always called for more patience, and preparations, before anything.

Even so, this doesn't mean that the Crown is not preparing for any possible conflagration, as even many foreign analysts have seen the Ebrians as too paranoid. The Plan of Total Defence has seen the recall for training of nearly everyone who is fit for military and has gone through the year long military draft, amounting to about 3 million reservists. While the plan is in action, the reservists will be recalled for a week long training every 3 months or for a weekend every 5 weeks. The Territorial Defence Forces, newly created with the recent rise in tensions, have also seen record breaking signups, with the authorites expecting about 250,000 people, but receiving more than half a million, many being put on waiting lists. The Catholic and Royal Army has seen an increased expansion in its equipment, with purchases from both the Federation of Westernesse and the Rheinbund, while the local arms industry seems to be working at full capacity and arsenal facilities are expanding in Calatrava and Manzanares.

The Ebrian population, while still supporting the idea of global peace, seem to go through exercises that include bombings in the cities and even chemical weapon attacks. "There have been enough whistle-blowers from Csengia and Tarusa which state that the Empire has an ever increasing arsenal or chemical weapons. Many seem to ignore it as fearmongering. I would rather be seen as exaggerating the preparations, should no war happen, rather than be taken by surprise. Of course, our aspirations is for life to continue normally, and for the tensions to go down, but at the moment, we don't think it is very likely," stated Dario Alfonso Rios Lopez, the president of the government (Ebrian PM).

The policing action against Gutarike has probably put a lot of strain on the Valls Pact members, but while not openly participating at the moment, especially as the admiralty stated that the Ebrian navy is not ready for faraway actions, Ebria did send frigates in the last months for police duties in the Gothic Sea, when the piracy episodes first started and has escorted commercial convoys bound for the Hansa and Ostmark. As of yet, the Crown seems to be in negotiations with the Hanseatic Republics, and admiralty is open to leasing two frigates to the Hansa, for the anti-piracy police actions, which would represent the Ebrian participation. "We did sign the Valls Pact, we did condemn piracy, but the Gothic Sea is too far away for our power projection. We will cooperate with our colleagues, but our first and foremost duty is in the Meridian Sea, to keep it safe and peaceful not only for us, but for our allies in the Meridian Union too," stated Admiral General Gabriel Carbonero Ayerbe.

Tentions rise in a Rio de Oro caught between status quo and anti-Ebrianism
AP El Aaiún

The 3 million north-western Himyari state, characterised by its huge yet sparsely populated territory and semi-nomadic Tekne population, of Uroduah descent living in the Sea of Fire Desert, roaming the dunes from oasis to oasis, while Ebrians, Nethians and Uroduah live in the urban communities such as the capital, El Aaiún, and Sidi Ifni or Villa Cisneros, with literally no other urban type settlement around the country, has been an associated state of the Ebrian Crown, led by a Governor General as head of state and a locally elected Prime Minister (President in Ebrian style terminology), and has had its own independent internal and external politics, with the exception of the Association Laws, which makes Rio de Oro a part of the Ebrian market, giving Ebrian and Oreño rights to move around and act as they are citizens of each other's territories. This status quo has been functional for the last 30 years, but a growing movement is creeping in, calling for the total and full independence of Rio de Oro from Ebria.

Partido Nacional - Hizb Wataniun, led by Ali Ould Salek has dominated the politics of the state in the last 30 years, in a still democratic environment, which was the exceptional situation coming from a mixture of a lack of political participation from the nomadic Tekne, while for the urbanites, it was always the party representing the status quo and the union with Ebria, which always offered subsidies, trade and an openness towards migration to and from the Meridian Area, but there have been societal shifts in the past 10 years which make it untenable and it makes it clear that real opposition begins to the exist in the politiical scene. The desertification of the southern coastal areas, traditionally a Tekne stronghold, has been brought by more and more droughts and in the views of some Ebrian scientists, a cataclysmic decline and depletion of the local groundwater sources, have brought a local migratory movement through the settlement of many of the nomadic Tekne into the cities of the nation, pushing them into the political life.

Two main opposition parties have appeared, namely the Partido de la Democracia Popular (People's Democracy Party), a socialist and secularist Party which calls on the influences of the People's Republic of Bezonvaux, the failed Hamrunite separatiste movement and its socialist islamist tendencies and the Pan-Himyari Communist Party, the Antelopes of Natal, led by Mohamed Ould Taya and the the Partido de los Fieles - Hizb al Muminim (Party of the Faithful), led by Omar Ould Ali, a Muslim Cleric which calls for an Islamic revival. The latter has been born as a reaction to the War in Al-Magrab and Hajr, and calls for a religious revival to strengthen the Uroduah and the Muslims worldwide.

The Ebrian Authorities are extremely concerned by both those movements as they fear the entry of socialist and also islamist influence in the Crownlands in general and in Hamrun in particular. In a widely criticised TV appearance, the Ebrian ministry of foreign affairs, Pedro Mendez, has stated that Rio de Oro, even when it was a colony has never been self sufficient nor profitable and the Crownlands of Ebria would greatly win economically should it fully cut off the Associated State. This has been followed by a reaction of the President of the Ebrian Government, Dario Alfonso Rios Lopez, which while calling out Mendez and his statements, also stated that the current constitutional status quo has been chosen through referendum and it can be changed constitutionally too by the people of Rio de Oro.

This is problematic not for the Ebrian Ebrians, but rather by the urbanite Uroduah and Ebrians which form the extremely thin middle and upper classes of Rio de Oro, whose financial stability and prosperity sits on the economical ties with Ebria itself. Fights have errupted already between the supporters of the National Party of those of the People's Democracy party, all while the Party of the Faithful is organizing sit-ins in front of Churches built by Ebrian authorities in a way to protest the fact that Ebrian authorities have blocked any building of new mosques since the 1930s in the country, and the current state laws still block it as part of the national secularism laws, while the Catholic Church managed to bribe its way into building new Churches. Omar Ould Ali has called the whole situation a state sponsored prozelytism campaign.

It is unsure how Valls would respond to these rising tensions, but after the Hamrunite separatist crisis, the republican episode and the near Continental War, it is believed that the Ebrian government will just cut its loses short but that might mean a political, economical and social disaster in Rio de Oro, as the state lacks in natural resources and its population, even at 3 million has risen to such levels thanks to the stability offered by Ebrian subsidies.

A New government Rises In The Empire
AP Kremlyov

From the ashes born anew is what was said. Emperor Konstantin flanked by his own war time cabinet and General Yakov Kosogov of the briefly declared Republic of Tarusa, the self declared military junta, has declared the return of Imperial rule to the motherland of Tarusa. In the declaration the Emperor outlined some of the deal struck between officials and the junta to bring the close to the civil war that much closer with a draft of a new constitution outlining changes in the government to reflect his own values and that which the junta perceived as grievances from the reign of Ivan and wishing to never again see the betrayal they had been subjected to and the hardships of the nation.

Some of the major points included the reformation of the Duma as a bicameral legislature which had been dissolved under Ivan, with the house of Boyars as the higher chamber to be appointed by the Emperor from the nobility of the Empire and the House of Commons which shall be elected by the common men and women of the Empire. The caveat for the House of Commons is that one third of the seats are reserved for those whom have served their nation dutifully and been retired or discharged honorably from the services of the nation., showing the respect to those whom have taken the duty to protect the nation by guaranteeing them a voice in the current and future of the nation. There shall be a Prime Minister whom is elected from the Duma to serve as the highest level of advisement to the Emperor, but the Emperor shall remain as the Head of State and Government, as the Emperor is the highest authority of the nation and the people and answers only to God himself.

Additional key points are such as the Prime Minister must resign if he cannot form a functional cabinet and the military chiefs of each branch will be selected by their respective services. The nation shall allow the formation for the first time in history of political parties, the political parties must be registered with the appropriate authorities that will oversee political actions, however the first two political parties that are approved currently without equivocation are the Imperial Rule Party and the Nationalist Party, these two in the coming months will be able to begin registering as additional parties will undergo vetting and approval from the yet to be determined authorities in charge of elections and political parties.

As the closing of the public televised debut of the new government that will rise in the Empire both Konstantin and General Kosogov called on those whom still seek to resist this transition to lay down their arms and rejoin the new and reformed Empire. That clemency would not last forever and they would deal with those who continue to resist as traitors to the nation, the people, and the Emperor.

Emperor Declares European Forum Dead
AP Kremlyov

The Empire under Konstantin in the early morning hours issued a notification that the authority of the European Forum was long ago dead, and that it was time for the European Forum to be retired unto the history books of nations as the failure it had been for years. As such he was withdrawing the Empire from its halls permanently by not only leaving the seat vacant that had been left vacant by the Baron under his father but by unrecognizing the entity entirely and withdrawing from it forever.

The EF has been used as nothing but a tool to justify their actions and attempt to bully smaller nations. Lest we not forget the snub from the nations in the European Forum at myself, lets remind them of the usage of white helmets to openly invade the Kingdom of Csengia, to justify their violating of Csengian territory with a no fly zone, and openly interfering with the Tarusan civil war and violating the territorial waters of the Crown Colony of Maghreb and the mining that led to the sinking of an anti-state commercial vessel, and the invasion of Gutarike. The EF is used by CETO and whatever nations find themselves temporarily aligned with this malicious alliance. We can, and shall, call it as such which makes me sound like my predecessors, but they have done nothing to curry favor with myself and continue to carry out actions that show their intent. The sinking of the museum pieces used as an honor guard to escort a VIP from Anglia to Frescania, ships so old they hold negligible capability to carry out actions of violence, shows how corrupt and decadent the European Forum is to the whims of a select few and the unwillingness of those within the organization to carry out punishment when one of its chosen few carry out unjustifiable actions such as it just has.

An Ackward Spot for CETO Members
AP Nouvo Porto

With @Tianlong having recently destroyed what has been dubbed the @Angliarique Museum Fleet that was threatening the European Forum Headquarters on Frescania, which was formerly part of @Ebria and populated mostly by ethnic Ebrians, the nations in CETO have now have a precarious relationship with the Sanctum of Laurels.

Radilo, in particular, is in an ackward position. Wanting to expand their relationship with business partners in Angliarique, the major tobacco producer Renualt-Manifattura Tropicale, brought about 300 Spascirian laborers to work on their farms in @Oltremare , with plans to hire more workers in the near future. This recruiting was done by the Spascirian Labour Council, a group with serious allegations of human and civil rights violations. Radilo faces a substantial labor shortage, and RMT has a hard time recruiting laborers. Per Radilan law all Spascirian laborers are compensated fairly and are full memebers of the United Peasants, Radilo's main agricultural workers' union.

RMT is a firm with a controversial history. Formerly Cigari e Sigareti Celesiria, the company is known to have a complicated relationship with organized crime and infamously tried to suppress information about the negative health effects of smoking.

Though Tianlong has not invoked Article 5 of the Central European Treaty, which would compel Radilo take up arms against Angliarique, the situation is certainly uncomfortable for the private sector. When reached for comment, the Foreign Minister's office reiterated their support for their ally Tianlong's actions. They emphasized, though, that the Most Serene Republic has no ongoing conflict or animosity with Angliarique, as the issue is settled in the opinion of Nouvo Porto.
