The foreign service serves the people of the Hanseatic Republics abroad, both through the discourse between foreign powers and businesses. Although ascribing to post-delegationist thought, the Hanseatic Republics recognize the need to conduct business abroad in order to enrich and promote the people of our free republics. With its origins traced back to the Skaanskelag's foreign ministry, the foreign service works on these projects and more.​ Was wir machen What we do We work in the interest of the Hanseatic Republics and Metsamaa across the world as a force for good in the world. We promote the interests of the citizens and inhabitants of our Republics abroad, safeguard the security of our Union, defend our values, and tackle global challenges with our international partners. As the Hanseatic Republics and German society are intermingled increasingly in international networks, the Foreign Ministry promotes intensive exchange and partnership with the world in the fields of business, culture, science and technology, the environment, sustainable development, and in many more areas. ​ Wie wir arbeiten How we work Shaping global discourse and increasing globalization is one of the most important tasks of our diplomacy. In this arena, the Foreign Ministry works closely with partners in civil society, including business associations, unions and humanitarian and human rights organizations. Through its embassies and consulates-general, it also communicates with the public abroad in order to convey a positive, up-to-date image of the Hanseatic Republics. We are supported in this pursuit by Honorary Consuls, and volunteers who work on the ground in host countries. Today, as a post-delegationist society, we believe that many of the world’s challenges can no longer be met by individual countries or States and must instead be tackled in concert with numerous international partners. Such challenges include regional conflicts, terrorist threats, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and the violation of human rights. Our ambition for the Ministry for Foreign Affairs is to maximize our global impact in the service of the Hanseatic Republics' interests and values – working together with our partners and allies, both potential and actual, as a force for good in the world. We employ around 10,000 staff in our diplomatic offices worldwide, including in the European Forum and overseas embassies and high commissions. Our Hanseatia-based staff work at the Friedrich Knebel Building, at Kehrwieder 8, Hammaborg. You must be registered for see images Herzlich Willkommen! Hello! It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Foreign Ministry's page and to introduce you to the work that we do. It is my role as Foreign Minister to be the first point of contact for all foreign dignitaries and important guests. My goal is to serve the citizens of the Hanseatic Republics to the best of my ability. I represent both the first Foreign Minister for the Hanseatic Republics, but also the first woman to serve in this position as well. This shapes both my mission in our representation to the world, but also my hopes and ideals for what this office can do. It is my hope the navigate the current global crises that we face with dignity and respect, while still remaining open to peace and our propensity for commerce. I have a unique background, having been educated in both the Hanseaten and having grown up in Tianlong, where I learned their language and customs. My university studies have taken me on exchange to the Federation, and as a result I feel a certain attachment to both travel and learning foreign cultures. It certainly helps that the Federation and Tianlong are both important business partners for the Hanseaten. My efforts in serving the German people of the Skaanskelag was part of this, as I served in important meetings opposite of Tianlong, and have worked as the ambassador to Ostmark during their socialist period, and Chargé d'affaires in the Rheinbund prior to this office. It is my hope that together we can lead Europe towards a more prosperous future, both economically and culturally, but also in terms of equity and liberty. These virtues are important for the Hanseaten, in tandem with our commercial interests, we cannot forget the common rights of the people. We shall not ignore them near or far, and it will shape how we conduct our affairs. This is why we oppose piracy, slavery, and any who may sponsor them. With this all in my mind, let me conclude by welcoming you to the Hanseatic Republics. Diplomatic Notes​

Countries with diplomatic or civil restrictions:​ Republic of Pannonia/Csengia (March 15, 2021): Travel Caution - An enduring civil conflict risks the threat of petty crime, violence, collateral harm, death, or extreme hostile scenarios in which citizens and permanent residents of the Hanseatics are advised to avoid this region. — As of September 13, 2021 the Republic of Pannonia is recognized as the Kingdom of Csengia and all obligations and contracts shall henceforth be issued to this entity.​ Republic of Gutarike (January 31, 2023): Travel Caution - This "pirate republic" is prone to lawlessness and theft. Hanseatic nationals are advised to avoid all travel to Gutarike due to the open state of conflict between the Hanseatic Republics and the pirates of Gutarike.​ Empire of Tarusa (May 15th, 2023): Travel Caution - The Empire of Tarusa is under threat of Civil conflict and open rebellion. Although thus far the Hanseatic Republics maintain neutrality in this conflict, the volatility of the region could lead to undesired hostilities or consequences for Hanseatic citizens. I have received word of the Gothic Fleet of the Empire pledging itself to my banner, along with this pledge I have been informed of the Empires role in the sinking of Hanseatic vessels in the past in support of the pirates. While not being an open secret, but one covered under a lie from above, the command staff knowingly know the truth and it has passed into my own hands.

How can we assist each other in this coming conflict we each face? My brother Emperor Ivan believes he still commands the navy and the Imperial armed forces and that I only wield the might of the Csengian armed forces. This is not the truth, those of the Imperial banner in the Kingdom and in the Tarusan exclave of WestMark and the Gothic Fleet have pledged to my cause significantly improving the capabilities of myself to unseat him. He has clearly thrown his lot in with the lawless Gutarike, who will undoubtedly also support him directly or indirectly in the coming conflict as hands that wash each other. I will use the Gothic Fleet to assist in squashing the piracy of Gutarike and bring about an end to the lawless state alongside the Hanseatic League while also forcing a blockade on the empires Gothic Ports. In exchange, we request that a land corridor for supply and transportation be allotted, perhaps if willing an armed incursion into the Empire alongside my forces and those that undoubtedly will rebel inside the borders. I have no doubt that my brother once he realizes the only way to bring about my demise is coming directly across the continent will take this route and come across the Germanic borders with or without the expressed permissions of your states.

Together we can win, alone we will have dark times upon the continent for the foreseeable future as an endless conflict will be waged.

Our Union has witnessed the general discord that has slowly reached boiling point in neighboring Tarusa with great concern. With our own apprehension we have received your correspondence and with great deliberation determined your insurrection as well-established. To bear this in mind, our communication and correspondence with the Konstantinist Insurrection does not place official recognition upon the movement.

Formal communications held between our parties will begin in earnest whence the Konstantinist Insurrection proves its merit beyond reasonable doubt. For the moment being analysis from our Foreign Service in combination with other various agencies have dictated that informal communications with you and your insurrection are important to the national security interests of both this Union and the general peace and harmony of the Gothic Sea region.

On this formal introduction and understanding of the parameters in which our correspondence may begin I am pleased to have your correspondence and most certainly wishing to adjudge the situation in the neighboring Kingdom of Csengia and her vassal states. As you are now informally their suzerain, the Hanseatic Republics of course desire common discourse and harmony upon our borders. Formal discussion between my ambassador to your Kingdom may no doubt occur in Kispest.

Understanding the parameters of the Konstantinist Insurrection is of natural consequence to both my own curiosity and the necessary condition required for which your own terms of assistance may be addressed. Your correspondence immediately speaks towards collaboration upon both the seas and the land. This office and of course yours truly does not naturally comprehend the landscape in which this insurrection operates. To our knowledge the Imperial Navy now operates under your command; and yet, there still lingers a sense of vulnerability within which Ivan of Tarusa may decide in earnest to strike upon the sovereign lands of the inhabitants of Lethonia.

Thereby I may not immediately accede to all your terms and desires upon one instant, yet which to build bridges and create levers in which they may be used.

The Hanseatic Republics will proceed as follows, in that the best our Union may assist and co-operate with the Imperial Navy, the Hanseatic Republics shall. Building upon common understanding upon the seas thereby we may cross future bridges of greater co-operation. Our efforts upon the Gothic Sea not withstanding, the Hanseatic Republics do not wish to act as though they are not eternally grateful for your peaceful desires with our Republics. As such, we wish to continue to build new bridges and immediate lay forth assistance. The embassies and consulates of the Hanseatic Republics may be used as locations for your insurrectionists to use as storage and informational brokerages in your efforts within the Empire of Tarusa. Additionally, infrastructure works of your movement may be allowed only within the Lethonian region. That said, no obvious build up is allowed in which imagery from both low or high atmosphere may bear witness.

Before greater collaboration may build, we must first test ourselves in the first efforts of our collaboration. To the defeat of the Gutnish Pirate Republic, and the building of basic infrastructures. With such successes, the Hanseatic Republics may commit its own forces to your efforts in Tarusa in further theatres, in future periods, with approval from the proper competencies within these Republics. As it stands, the situation currently is this.

The Gothic Sea Fleet has swore allegiance to my cause and my claim on the crown, this is the largest and most powerful of the Imperial Fleets. They are currently holding the line at a few naval installations on the mainland, but have complete control of the islands controlling the entrance to Kremlyov, Ostmark, and Lethonia. This is only possible as command staff of the Eastern Military Distract have as well joined my cause providing a valuable choke point to any efforts that would be possible into the Gothic Sea by the Imperial Coast Guard under the interior ministry which is still heavily influenced by Ivans ideology. There are other commanders of various divisions and armies in the mainland that are loyal to our cause spread out across the home of the Empire, they have not acted in open defiance as of this time, so the validity to their allegiances could still be questioned as it is only by information from ongoing intelligence that we have been told of their willingness to act in the rebellion.

WestMark and the Imperial Army, Navy, and Aerospace forces stationed within the enclave and within the Kingdom have swore fealty to myself as the Emperor which is a great addition to the forces I wield from the Kingdom and its vassal states. The Sankt Katherina island chain as well as the Silk Seas detachment is behind this cause, while providing little in the way of tactical or strategic assets, it is one less position for those forces loyal to my cause to have to attempt and seize or risk a surprise coming from.

Unfortunately, as far as I am aware, I have been unable to influence much in the way of the other Imperial holdings abroad. Maghreb and the Free State are firmly in the hands of my brother, including naval and aerospace forces in those respective lands. This leads to a strategic issue for myself, and most likely the Hanseatic Republics. The amount of oil that will hit the global market will take a drastic hit, as it already begins to slide. The Empire has for a long time been stockpiling, and it will obviously be able to continue providing for its mechanized forces and industry with ease while the rest of the world struggles to meet their demands. The Kingdom does not have its own oil sources, we are a victim to the oil markets of the world as much as the rest without the Tarusan taps. Conservation efforts by the government of my wife had led to a reduction in usage while supply had stayed at a slightly below average rate, this has granted us a surplus, that will be quickly diminished. We shall be issuing an emergency restriction on fuel across the nation to attempt to keep our ability to fight.

What does this have to do with the Hanseatic Republics? I shall recognize the claim on the Gutnish Himyar, in the hopes of keeping a friendly source of the fuels we need to wage this war coming. How Ivan shall react, without the Hanseatic Republic openly supporting us at this time, is even questionable as his actions have been rash and destructive.

How may we collaborate without openly collaborating? My minister of War Leontiy Makarov has recommended to me that we issue an "exclusion zone" in the Gothic Sea. We can delimitate a "safe corridor" for commercial vessels, but require vessels to allow us to board and search for contraband that our nations agree upon. Anything else in the exclusion zone, or vessels that refuse to be boarded shall be considered hostile and dealt with accordingly.

The Empire of Tarusa is formally lodging a diplomatic protest to the stationing of Westernesse forces within the boundaries of Lethonia. The size of the forces while not estimated to be large, is also not a small detachment either. With the civil war not bringing military forces in conflict with each other near the borders of the Hanseatic Republics, nor any hostile nature or provocations from our regime in Kremlyov it bears to question why such a large contingent of land forces is required within the Republics.

It leads to belief that the Hanseatic Republics is as well coordinating itself with the Konstantinist rebellion and is planning to be a springboard for operations against the Empire, whether Konstantinist, CETO, the Valls Pact and European Forum. This is an unacceptable position and may very well sour what good cordial relations had potentially remained at this time between our nations given the extreme matter of many of the signatories of the Valls Pact showing an interest in disbanding the Empire.

This also follows a statement from the Democratic Defense Initiative essentially claiming hegemony over the entire Gothic region, a region which only 1 member state of the alliance is a part of. Yet another encroachment against the Empires interests and that of the nations not aligned with the Democratic Defense Initiative that share a coastal shelf on the Gothic Sea.

We formally endorse the temporary introduction of Federal forces to Lethonia and the Gothic Theater. These forces from beyond the Gothic Sea, which soon will include assets of the Nievish Revolutionary Fleet, are long overdue responders to the piracy problem which has cost lives, maimed innocents, and stalled world commerce.

If these are not pirates, brigands, or reavers without stately recognition then who pray-tell are they? We thusly ask why our friends in @Tarusa are challenging a diverse international response to extinguish the piratical flame that took flight from the Gutarike? Surely the rightfully crowned order in Kremlyov wishes to wipe these partisan opportunists, murderers, and thieves from the Gothic Sea.

This was and still is an international problem that demands action made by brave actors to restore safe journey for private and patrolling vessels. We hope that the Empire of Tarusa, led by Tsar Ivan, will join we who seek to restore this peace. Further, mark us as the Communal Order of the Thaumantics that should the Federation not leave when their mission is through, or should a permanent build-up erect in the region between Tarusa and the Thaumantic that we will join the Empire in pushing them out and to their rightful homes by any means necessary.

Our Union remains steadfast in a belief in world peace, but does not believe it possible. One misstep can lead to the irresponsible wrath of the Alliance of Absolutism. We do not trust them. We will not trust them. They cannot be trusted. When the leaders of the Alliance of Absolutism speak one opinion, the truth is often far away from the apple that fell from the tree. In fact, the truth is more than likely the inverse.

Even still, with peace as our guide, we will march forward with pen in hand, and a shield in the other. Esteemed friend and ally, Denton Graves, Secretary of State of the Federation of Westernesse,

Our Union of Republics and Cities has largely witnessed from the distant vantage point that is North Germania the barbarism and callous disregard for humanity forced upon Europe by imperialists. The trials and tribulations seen in the Meridian while sorrowful in nature also has been given little regard beyond the posturing that could be done by our Union in order to claim a more advantageous geopolitical position. The Meridian States which abandoned the Hanseatic Republics in their time of need both at Valls, and again upon invasion by the Empire of Tarusa now see our inaction in reciprocity.

We welcome the strong communication and assistance given to us by our most trusted and strongest friends in Charleroi. The news however comes to our Union with great concern. The Federation, as we have recognized now moves forward towards war and open combat, requesting that our nation remain at peace while the Federation carries this burden upon itself. By nature, we do not see any conflict which the Federation engages in, not equally a conflict that our Union must also share the burden in.

However, this request by your Department of State takes into consideration the natural order of things in which the Federation may have to engage in open combat with the Preßburg Pact. The Federation understandably will take the highest burden of the defense of the Hanseatic Republics in the event of invasion, despite considerable progress made by the Hanseatic Republics in defensive readiness and solidarity. Thus, the request of declared neutrality has been considered with utmost diligence and respect.

This office, considering the affairs of foreign entities, both present and historical has determined that little respect for declared neutrality would be considered by any foreign foe considering the continued station of Federation military assets in the Hanseatic Republics. As the Hanseatic Republics will not consider the removal of such assets as strategically sound military readiness in our common defense, it becomes henceforth legally impossible to have a declared and justified neutrality that may be respected by the Preßburg Pact.

The deliverance of nuclear weaponry as promised in our prior meeting does change the calculus to great effect. With such deterrent, our defense can easily be provided for, and the manufacture of additional nuclear warheads will allow for greater possibilities in the defense of the Hanseatic Republics. With this fact in mind, such partial neutrality may allow for the desired impact in the diplomatic and war behavior of the Empire of Tarusa in regard to these Hanseatic Republics. As such, the Hanseatic Republics will honor this request made by the Federation of Westernesse and declare a partial neutrality within the coming twenty-four hours. Additionally, such action will cause the Hanseatic Republics to cease all current clandestine operations within the Meridian Sea Theater, and as such leave the Federation without direct support in their war in the Meridian.

Lastly, this office must protest any mining operation of the Gothic Sea. Whilst such an undertaking would not place great strain upon our friendship, such action would in the minds of these Republics prove more costly to the commerce of the Hanseatics than providing any real deterrent or combat problem to the Empire of Tarusa. It is our estimate that civil shipping will be disturbed far more than Tarusan Naval operations which stand ready to be struck by land-to-sea missile from the newly Federated "–Gauten" coastline.

With this in mind, our neutrality whilst partial can operate with our considerably large naval resources as the "eyes-and-ears" of the Federation Navy where it is not. Our continued surveillance of the seas shall be open knowledge to the Federation.

Continued, the Hanseatic Republics request in the eventuality of such a war, the ability to continue to manufacture, repair, and replace fighter jets once produced in the former Gutareich, which have been on short supply since their collapse and will no doubt be no longer accessible to our Republics upon your declaration of war. Alternatively, the replacement of our jet fighters with Federation-made fighters of similar or superior capability.

The Hanseatic Republics wish upon the Federation the greatest of fortune in their endeavors where only the bravest men and women dare.

The Hanseatic Republics welcome the end of the Civil War in Ebria and looks forward to the state visit of Ebria's President Ana Isabel Gallego

Over the course of the Civil War in Ebria the Hanseatic Republics have taken a policy of non-interference prioritizing the common people of Ebria and shipping humanitarian supplies to the region. The end of the war does not mean the end of the shipments as Ebria will take some time to return to full functionality. Our Ministry expects Ebria to have a problems with "food deserts" where over the course of the next six months food may prove difficult to easily obtain on a daily basis for many Ebrians which may have been accustomed to visiting a local grocery store by foot. Hanseatic food aid will continue to Ebria until these problems are solved.

Ebria will take a long time to return to normal, and as a fellow democracy, aid both material and economic will be provided to our friends of democracy. - Foreign Minister Maass

In the meantime the Hanseatic Republics welcome President Ana Isabel Gallego and her efforts to find supporters of Ebria's new democracy. She will find an eager audience in North Germania where Hanseatic business will look to meet and secure contracts in effort to rebuild Ebria. Additionally, the Hanseatic Republics will likely look to secure friendship accords and will offer assistance in the defense of Ebria from foes both foreign and domestic.

Those associated with the Fascist movement in Ebria will not find safe harbor in the Hanseatic Republics, and this Union will cooperate fully with Ebrian security forces on their extradition.​
