The Tribunal Strikes Back. Assets of 2 political parties frozen

The war between the political parties that led the Civic Front and the Ribamar Tribunal continues. After the Assembly Commission dismissed the main prosecutors from the "Dictatorship Trials", the Ribamar Tribunal started a new investigation regarding the politics of the biggest party in Beira and the main leader of the Civic Front during the days of the Civic Process, the Partido Azul, and it's smaller offspring, the Partido do Povo Unido.

After a person whose identity was kept anonymous came to the Agency of Fiscal Administration and to the Anti-Corruption Directorate with a series of documents showing the embezzlement of state owned actives that have been transferred from the ownership of the state to the ownership of the Partido Azul. Those transfers have been made during the tenure of Chancellor Manuel Perahia, in the late '80s. From the ownership of the Partido Azul, those were then transferred at the orders of Chancellor Perahia to the newly formed Partido do Povo Unido. The document also states that the party was formed at the orders of Chancellor Perahia as an extreme right-wing annex of the Partido Azul to attract reactionary elements from the Beiran society towards a party whose role was to always be in a coalition with the Partido Azul. While the laws of the Civic Front stated that the front united all the parties to keep the country stable, it seemed that Perahia started to see the cracks appear in the unity of the Front during his tenure as chancellor between 1983 and 1994, as he foresaw the fall of the Civic Process and the need of the Partido Azul to compete in free and democratic elections.

As a result of the denouncement, the Anti-Corruption Directorate has started an investigation and at it's call, the Ribamar Tribunal, the main tribunal of the Confederation has frozen all the assets of the Partio Azul and Partido do Povo Unido presented in the documents. This literally has crippled the PPU, as more than 80% of the buildings owned by the party come from the said transfers. Around 15% of the buildings and assets of the Partido Azul have been frozen.

"This is a clear strike at the democratic process of this country. One week before the vote and here we are, our allies, the PPU must vacate their buildings while we must vacate nearly all our buildings in the state of Vila Verde. Let it be noted that Beira still lives currently under a dictatorship of a deep state, which twists and turns without caring of the lives of the people. Coups d'etat have become more subtle. Gone are the days in which we could have seen tanks on the streets. Now coups are organized in tribunals and parliaments," stated the Chairman of the Partido Azul, Danilo Pinto.

General Elections in the Confederation

The Confederate Electoral Bureau has published the result's of yesterday's vote. After an election campaign that was extremely tense, characterized by a legal was between the Partido Azul and the Ribamar Tribunal, during which violent clashes were sometimes reported, the CEB has declared that yesterday's elections went on without major incidents, the only one worth noting taking place in Setubal where one clerk tried to steal the voting stamps and was arrested and accused of interfering with the voting process.

Yesterday, the people of Beira voted both for the members of the Directorate and also for the new assembly, this being the first free vote in the history of the country in the last century. During the Civic Process, the local direct democratic process was kept alive by the regime, even if it was strongly regulated, while the general elections have been described mostly as a sham.

In yesterday's Assembly elections, the most successful party was Partido Azul, receiving around 43% of the votes. It's main problem that in the current political scene, it's long allied party, the Partido do Povo Unido has been disbanded recently and many of it's supporters have not participated in the elections. The Partido Azul was followed by the Partido Radical with 35% of the votes and by the Partido Trabalhista with 22% of the votes.

Even if it has received the largest percentage of the votes, the Blue Party lost the elections, as it needed at least 50% to form the government. The Partido Radical and Partido Trabalhista have already stated during the electoral campaign that they aim to form a coalition that they will call Frente Popular. With this agreement, Eliza da Silva, the Chairwoman of the Partido Radical will become Chancellor, the first woman Chancellor in the history of Beira and Carlos Ribeiro, the General-Secretary of the Partido Trabalhista will become Vice-Chancellor.

In the Urudoah and Lundan electoral rolls, the local chapters of the Partido Trabalhista were the most successful, winning 70% and 68% respectively, the other votes going to Partido Radical. The Partido Azul has received less than 1% of the local votes.

In the Directorial Elections, the Radical Party managed to become the most successful party winning 6 states out of the ten, followed by the Partido Azul, winning 3 and by Partido Trabalhista, winning for the first time a spot in the Directorate. Some conservative newspapers have already rushed to give Ribamar the nickname Red Rib after Manuel da Cunha managed to win the directorial elections in the state with more than 75% of the votes.

"The strong presence of the Partido Trabalhista in the Assembly has shown us that Beira has left behind the two factions system in which the Blues and the Radicals were the main groups that led the nation and even if they presented themselves as a rival to the other, they cooperated and supported each other. This political dead end that has managed to keep the Civic Front in power for such a long time, we have nicknamed it "Cafe com leite politics", as the Blues were supported by strong and rich coffee plantations and the Radicals by the dairy corporations. It seems that this political apparatus has broken down, when Eliza da Silva was elected Chairwoman of the Radicals as she allied with the social democratic Partido Trabalhista instead of keeping the status quo," stated Santos Gouveia, political columnist at Tempos.

"This vote is an important milestone for the Beiran people and it's politics. The days of the fascist regime are officially done now. From now on we will work tirelessly to modernize Beira and to legally purge it of any anti-democratic elements that have worked in the past to oppress the people. The Confederation of Beira has returned to it's roots and to the ideals of the 1855 revolution. From now on there will be no second class citizen in Beira! From now on there will be a responsible government working for the people, not for a fascist and corrupted cabal!" stated Eliza da Silva in her speech in front of the masses assembled in Vila Flor to receive the results of the elections.

Government sworn in. Presents official plans of administration

The government of the Frente Popular has been sworn in. In the ceremony held at the Casa Verde, the palace holding the three main institutions heading the Confederation, the Assembly, the Directorate and the Chancellery, each member of the new government swore on the constitution and on the bible to respect the interests of the people and afterwards, Chancellor Eliza da Silva has given a speech presenting the governing plan for the administration. The new government also has created a new ministry concentrating on administrative modernization.

The new government of Beira is made of the following:
Chancellor: Eliza da Silva (Radical)
Vice-Chancellor: Carlos Ribeiro (Trabalhista)
Minister of External Affairs: Tiago Branco (Radical)
Minister of Administrative Modernization: Celio Carvalho (Trabalhista)
Minister of Finance: Irina Teixeira (Trabalhista)
Minister of Defence: Gervásio Mata (Radical)
Minister of Interior: Artur Cardoso (Radical)
Minister of Culture and Sport: Afonso Serra (Radical)
Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education: Cesário Borges (Radical)
Minister of Education: Marina Couto (Trabalhista)

The plans the new administration have presented in the parliament have already been uploaded on the official site of the government ( ), being currently the fastest governing program presented by a new administration. The new plans show great interest in the government to reform and modernize Beira to take her past it's Civic Process days.

The governing platform includes the following:
1. Transform the corporate economy by legalizing strikes and trade unions. Make them more centered on the worker by rising the number of communally owned businesses.
2.Adopt a Lustration Law that prohibits ex-members of institutions that suppressed the democratic process of Beira to hold office.
3. Create an institution which will investigate the crimes of the Civic Process and begin legal procedures of the criminals.
4. Create an institution which will investigate any form of corruption.
5. Stop the brain surge by giving strong boons in taxation for people who left the country if they return and start a business. Those boons will also affect companies that employ people who have recently returned.
6. End of the "Separated Development" policies, thus giving full rights to Urudoah and Lundan people.
7. The creation of 3 new Dioceses by upping the status of the Tafilaet, Lunda and Jewish Autonomous Regions.
8. Social programs to end illiteracy and the health crisis in the inland regions.
9. Tax and bureaucratic relaxation in the coastal regions to promote investments, both national and foreign.
10. The creation of an e-government platform to support and ease the direct democratic process of local politics.

"Until we can say that our society has been purged of any kinds of Civic-fascist elements we must start the trials and punish anyone which has made even the slightest effort to keep the fascists in power and to oppress the people. Our country is lagging behind from the world's average levels of human development, health, education and economy. It is them, that we must thank for all that," said Eliza da Silva showing the Blue Party caucus in the Assembly, "it is them whom have fed us with stories about the evils of solidarity and class consciousness. It is them whom have fought for more than 90 years to keep us ignorant of the world around us and it is them whom have divided us all in so called corporations and have promoted the idea of stabbing each other in the back and report to the secret police what our acquaintances are doing, in an attempt to destroy any kind of humanity in us, to keep themselves in power. They are the ones which have forgotten the social nature of Christianity and were supporting so called Christian hospitals and schools from state funds while dividing our countrymen and women in first class and second class citizens, with their own cronies receiving their best services. They are the hypocrites which present themselves as defenders of the faith while also being the defenders of capitalism, worshiping their true idol and God, the Real [Beiran currency ed.note]. They have made huge wealth while the people of the interior are suffering. When the Urudoah and the Lunda are nearly famished! Since they have reluctantly agreed to end the dictatorship at the threat of a national revolution, the Blue Party has worked tirelessly to delay if not completely halt the work of the Ribamar Tribunal regarding the investigations of the crimes of the regime. They are doing this to defend the heads of their members, whom most likely have hundreds of victims on their conscience. We will suffer from this no more. I will work tirelessly to see them all brought to trial as long as I am alive. Our legal purge will be completely transparent. We will invite foreign observers from Andaluz, Implaria and Gallega to ensure the legality of the trials. The era of the Civic Process is long over. The era of liberation has arrived," stated Eliza da Silva, attacking the Blue Party and the former civic regime.

In the first day the government functioned, Eliza da Silva and Carlos Ribeiro have already signed three Emergency Ordinances. The first gives the right to move, travel and work in the whole Confederation for the Urudoah and Lunda people. The second formally creates the Anti-Corruption Directorate which will specialize in investigating corruption cases and financial fraud. The last one formally creates the Institute of Investigating Civic Crimes, which will take over from the Ribamar Tribunal the investigation regarding the crimes of the dictatorship. The prosecutors which have been dismissed by the Blue Party have been nominated again to work at the cases at the new instutute.

Office of the People's Commissariat for External Affairs
People's Federal Socialist Republics of Kadikistan
The Kadikistani People's Government would like to congratulate the Frente Popular on it's recent victory in their homeland of Beira. These events show that leftist recipes, although not entirely the same as our own, are still popular around the world. We are hopeful that the Frente Popular will rule the nation wisely and guide it on the right path. The Kadikistani State and the Union of Kadikistani Communist Workers' Parties is especially content about the legalization of Marxist-Leninovism, which was wrongfully persecuted for much too long. This act shows the democratic intentions of the new Beiran government and for this we are hopeful.

Freedom, Liberty and Identity. New movements and parties arising from the ashes of the dictatorship

The Revolutionary Workers' Party is a new political party that has appeared on the political scene of Beira, as the Ribamar Tribunal has decided to allow new parties to be formed after a 90 year hiatus. It is also for the first time in Beiran political history to have Marxism-Leninovism a legal ideology. During the disastrous near a century rule of the Civic Front any ideology that openly challenged the regime's status quo was declared illegal and it's supporters were met with the iron fist of the DGS. Some of them were arrested and many executed, while others have ran into the bush and the authorities have never heard of them. In the late 60s and early 70s there were urban legends talking about those Marxist-Leninovist bush rangers which have managed to survive for more than 30 years in the bush, until the government started sending teachers and physicians to the native homelands, at that point the said Leninovists would have assumed new identities and moved in the homelands. Though many of those stories are false or exaggerated, it is clear that there were some Leninovists which have survived the purges hiding in the bush and then taking refuge in the Urudoah and Lunda Autonomous Regions.

One of those refugees is Samuel da Costa. The current 95 year old was put on the black list of the DGS for "Marxism-fueled anti-social behavior" in 1942 when he had to leave the city of Setubal, in which he was working at a car factory and headed for the bush. He spent around 20 years in various villages in the bush, moving every one or two years and changing identity, until he managed, at 47, in 1969 to move to the Urudoah Autonomous Region and find refuge there. He thought that he will die long before he could leave the region to see his home again, but life gave made him a huge surprise when he heard that the regime fell and he could return to his old name. But it was too late, as 75 years later, anyone he knew in Setubal has died either in the prisons of the DGS or of old age. Yet, this didn't stop him. He has joined the Revolutionary Workers' Party and went to Ribamar together with the the main leaders of the party, Susana Rosa and Rolando Coutinho and signed for the legal creation of the party.

The life of Samuel da Costa is just one of the thousands going to hundreds of thousands of lives which were disrupted by the fascist dictatorship. As much as Kadikistan is seen with bad eyes in Beira, Marxism-Leninovism was popular in the country during the days in which Nikolai Leninov was the paramount leader of Kadikistan. The main element that changed the way Kadikistan was seen even by many Beiran Leninovists was the signing of the Status Quo Treaty, which was seen by locals as Kadikistan betraying it's revolutionary cause in Himyar and supporting the regimes emanating from Christopolis, which was propping the Social Republic and the Civic Regime for most of it's existence. In time, the old Leninovists were hunted down while the new left-wingers were seeing Marxism-Leninovism as an ideology which was dividing the anti-Civic groups.

Another important group that has appeared in Beira after the congress which ended the Civic regime is the Kashtan Friendship Association. The group, even if it didn't form as of yet a party and from the last statements of it's chairman, Heriberto Gomes, it will take some time before it will do it, is concentrating in promoting the Independent Democratic Republic of Kashtan, supporting the culture and politics of the IDRK. The group wishes to organize trips into the Republic and promote the social system of the state, calling it the only democratic and truly independent state in Europe.

Socialization of the Corporate Economy
The Minister of Finance, Elena Teixeira, has held today a press conference in which she disbanded much of the Beira '30 plan which was put together by technocratic ministers in the last days of the Social Republic. She declared that the plan was even a turn away from the classic corporate politics of the Civic Regime and adopted neo-liberal policies that would have destroyed the proletariat of Beira while making the corrupt Civic officials even richer. Minister Teixeira has reiterated the need of the people to live a dignified life without having the "privilege" of slaving away in factories whose profits were being flushed away by corrupt fascist officials.

The new social-economic plan presented by Minister Teixeira proposes the socialization of the corporate economy through a series of legal changes. First, the corporations are to be disbanded, as they are representing a fascist political intrusion in the economic life, supporting the delirious idea that social classes can collaborate. History has shown us in the last century that fascism and corporate economics belong to the dustbins of history, as the so-called class collaboration was nothing more than a way for the employers to oppress the proletariat, to divide it and to turn it to the DGS, should they show that they are more human than robots. The Minister also declared that the Beira '30s plan to make the corporations more
efficient was to give them private management, which would have ended up in mass unemployment. Currently, 90% of the Beiran companies are banded together in corporations, 10% are privately owned and 10% are commonly owned, the last ones being the Haciendas and the industrial and banking cooperatives.

The new economic plan presented wishes to turn those 90% corporate owned companies
communally owned companies. All of them were nationalized in 1927 by the fascist regime and will remain under the authority of the state but with some changes. The state will first disband all corporations and will create workers' councils in the companies so that they are administered and managed by the workers, while the state will keep a close eye to be sure that all it's laws are respected. Also, the profits of the factory will be divided in two funds, one will go to an investment fund and another will go into a people's fund which will be divided equally between the workers at the end of each year, similarly to how dividends are shared by the stock owners in capitalist economies.

Private enterprise will be allowed and it will even be promoted, with the state wishing to invite foreign investors, but all of them will have to respect the Labour Code of Beira, to avoid any kind of exploitation of the working class. All the workers will have to be members of a trade union. The new economic model pushes for the secondary and tertiary economic sectors a recipe of success that was applied to the first sector of economy. The Haciendas were transformed in the early 70s from feudal estates to successful agricultural cooperatives showing that the workers were economically, socially and politically mature enough to not only keep the haciendas alive, but to make them prosper through their own management.

Series of Terror attacks and Assassination attempts

Beira has been struck by a series of terrorist attacks after a few days ago, two MPs of Partido Trabalhista were the target of a car bomb attacks. Today, two new attacks rocked the country. This time, the targets were Chancellor Eliza da Silva and the mayor of Setubal, Sergio Caetano. The first attack took place in the homonym capital of the Setubal Diocese where Mayor Caetano was shot and killed in a drive by shooting attack. The mayor was travelling from his house to the town hall driving his personal car. At a red light, a motorcycle with two men mounted on it stopped near the mayor's car and one of the men took out a gun and shot the mayor. Sergio Caetano died on the spot. Witnesses have quickly called the police and the ambulance. Nothing could have been done to save Caetano's life. The police has started an investigation but stated that the conditions in which the attack took place, the early morning in which the streets were near empty and the lack of plates on the motorcycle will greatly make the process tougher.

A few hours later, in Vila Flor, Chancellor Eliza da Silva, was travelling from the Ministry of Interior to the Palacio Verde, when her three car motorcade was attacked on the Avenida Longa. In the traffic jam, two attackers wearing sky masks have started shooting towards the three cars. They have been neutralized by the National Republican Guard quickly, but not before they wounded the driver of the Chancellor's car, shooting him in the right arm.

Ariving safe at the Palacio Verde, the Chancellor held a press conference, condemning the terrorist attacks and declaring that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.

"It is clear that our process of purging the country of it's fascist elements has not only annoyed the shady kind of people, but it has fully made them ballistic. I cried Monday when I heard that two of my friends have been attacked and that tomorrow I will have to bury one of them. I cried this morning when I heard of the assassination of another dear friend, Sergio Caetano, but a few hours ago I started to be enraged. This is a civilized country. If those thugs think that they can keep their old dictatorship by murdering everyone that fights for justice in this country, so be it. They will be met with fire and lead. I will not stand idly to see that the Beiran people start to feel anxiety when they have to go on the streets out of fear that a mad bloodhound would bomb or shoot something or someone. No, we will war with them if needed and I want them to look me now in the eyes and see that I am intending to use the state's force to the fullest in dealing with all kinds of political violence," stated Eliza da Silva.

Danilo Pinto surrenders and promises cooperation

The Ex-leader of the Blue Party, Danilo Pinto, which has resigned from the party last week has decided to surrender himself to the Ribamar Tribunal and cooperate with the authorities in the dictatorship trials. Pinto has been the former leader of the Blue Party and since the congress he has called countless times for it's reformation and it's separation from the authoritarian past and it's entrance into the new Beiran politics as a democratic, modern, conservative party. It may have seemed that the reactionary factions in the party were more important than the reformist factions and this ended up with Pinto's resignation.

Danilo Pinto has been received by the General Prosecutor of the Ribamar Tribunal, Antelmo Machado, whom has promised the ex-Blue leader safety from any kinds of attacks as long as he will cooperate with the Tribunal in defeating the Civic cabal that is threatening the lives of Beirans everywhere.

"There are many things that need to be said. There truly is a Civic cabal that functions inside this country, similar to a deep state and it is controlled by powerful and rich people. I thought that I could make them understand the new world. I thought I could make them understand the futility of resisting change. But the fact that they have chosen to use violence to revert Beira back to it's dark years, have made me decide to talk and to help the authorities fight them. I feel that my lack of decisive action has brought already too much suffering, so even if I am risking my own life, I will talk, and I hope this will make titans fall," stated Danilo Pinto.

The World's Drug Problem. Episode 2

She was only 14! This is how the titles rolled when the world found out about the death of Augusta Souza, a 14 year old gild from Ribamar. She was found by her mother in the bathroom, unconscious after she took a heroin overdose. Up until recently, it seemed that the world was divided, with the Frontier and Toyou having heroin problems, Himyar cocaine problems, and Gallo-Germania, with it's large population and wealth, both. But the appearance of heroin in Himyar might signal that things are changing.

We have first started to work out who and why Augusta Souza ended up with a heroin addiction. In our investigation we have interviewed her parents. It may have seemed that the distress brought by her parent's separation may have made her try to escape the world. After we have found out some of her friends and talked with them, many seem to have started first with ecstasy, LSD and then heroin, first by snorting it and afterwards by injecting it. The main establishment in which so many teenagers seem to have found their way in the world of drug consumption may be the Sound Club in downtown Ribamar.

From what our team has talked with several psychologists in rehab centers, it seems that a mix of family estrangement resulting from the machismo culture developed by the Civic regime and the antithesis of social regulations from the overly regulated lives the people lived under the Civic Process to the plethora of vices that can be easier fed by the lackluster enforcement in the current, post-dictatorship phase, many have called the current drug problem a temporary rebelliousness of the youth. As much as many of those psychologists seem to be sure that this phase it temporary, we cannot but comment on the fact that this current rebelliousness has made countless teenagers use narcotics and end up even stealing or prostitute themselves just to get money to buy drugs.

What has quirked us is how come heroin, which was the main drug on the Frontier-Gallia route has managed to share a room with cocaine on the Himyar-Gallia route. For this we have presented ourselves as interested in buying some drugs. It wasn't difficult in finding a dealer. We managed to get him respond to a few questions, before the sounds of sirens from a police car made him nervous and we left.

Q: Do you sell other stuff aside cocaine?
A: Currently, if you want I have heroin and hashish too.

Q: But some time ago, there wasn't heroin around. What happened?
A: Well, it's the whole scandal with the War on Drugs thing. Too much media attention on that route it seems to have made them change take their stuff first to North Himyar and then to Gallia and Germania through Gallega and Eiffelland. Heroin prices have been greatly reduced in the last weeks thanks to this new flux of merchandise.

Q:So is heroin replacing Cocaine now?
A: No, Heroin in high risk. You usually get a few customers, but they are hooked. They will be loyal to you no matter what. Whereas Cocaine is a party drug, and from what I heard, there are mountains of it being used in parties in Bad Hersfeld, in Eiffelland.

Q: You know there are teenagers that are sacrificing their lives for this, right?
A: Yes, I do. But I don't feel remorse. It's their life. Their decisions. I do this because I need money. If they want to use drugs, I will not tell them not to. It's their parents' problem, not mine.

Q: Do you have children?
A: Yes, three girls. And I will concentrate my whole life on teaching them about how drug abuse transforms them into slaves. I will not tolerate narcotics in my family.

Before we managed to ask him if he finds this hypocritical, he ran away, as he heard police sirens approaching. Read the whole interviews on

With the eyes of the world on the Ribamar Tribunal and Danilo Pinto, this is the Confederation of Beira's opportunity to show its commitment to justice that is both fair-mindedness and also unafraid of showing mercy. We hope that the tribunal shows the strength of judicial independence in Beira, where the political environment has been poisoned by Eliza da Silva's troubling rhetoric about "Civic-fascism." Gunnland stands ready to offer asylum to the leaders of the Civic Process who may require it.

We extend our condolences to the people of Beira, especially to family and friends of Mayor Caetano. We strongly condemn the assault on both Mayor Caetano and Chancellor Da Silva. Eiffelland offers its cooperation to find the culprits of both assaults.

Office of the People's Commissariat for External Affairs
People's Federal Socialist Republics of

While it is not in our habit to respond to similar unfounded and sensational news-creating by tabloids such as Tempos de Ribamar, we have no other choice than to recognize that the fabrications published by them have been getting traction across Europe. The Kadikistani State as well as the Kadikistani Communist Workers' Party hereby officially and formally distances itself from the international drugs trade. The Kadikistani government, nor its armed forces, have played any role in the transport and distribution of illegal narcotics. To say otherwise it to spit upon the graves of the many Kadikistani sons and daughters that have fallen in service of the revolution by combatting the criminal syndicates who are responsible for facilitating the drugs trade on Kadikistani soil. We will continue our fight against these criminals, but neither can we stand for some backwards tabloid to spread rumours among the working class that we are somehow responsible for everything. We see an Implarian hand in this and a ploy to discredit and undermine the Kadikistani State from our rivals in the Himyar.

Signed,
Petar Kujundzic

On behalf of the government of the Commonwealth of Gallega, representing its people, and myself in the capacity of a Consul of the Gallic Republic, we extend our sincerest congratulations on the transition to a full and free democracy in the Confederation of Beira following decades of the Partito Azul regime. Though the road forward may be occasionally
fraught with hardship and may sometimes yield some setbacks, know that the peoples of Gallega and their National Directorate will always be available, ready and willing to support Beira on its journey to a better future for all her people. The Commonwealth is prepared to offer any support required of the government of Beira and, on behalf of the First Consulate of Gallega, wish to extend the thanks and appreciation of our nation for the role bestowed of observers in Beira's transition to a full democracy, ensuring equal political and civil rights to all citizens of Beira and defense against fascism.

The Consulate of Gallega also extends our condolences for the recent incidents of political violence in reaction to the progress made towards a free and fair Beira. To this end, any security assistance required for the protection of the Confederation of Beira can be provided by the Gallegan contingent upon request. We wish you many years of peace, prosperity and liberty.

The Free State extends its deepest condolences to the victims of recent atrocities in Beira and hopes this does not represent a concerted attempt to reverse recent democratic progress.

Going forward, we urge all Trivodnian citizens to avoid travel to Beira completely necessary, and for Trivodnian citizens currently in the country to return home immediately.

World Festival of Sports Opening Ceremony

The biggest Cultural Event in Beira has begun on the 1st of December with a gigantic opening ceremony. The whole world is now turning it's eyes towards the city of Ribamar as hopes and dreams are being brought alive with the Festival of Sports main goal, of changing the tensed and sometimes bloody national rivalries into sporting events in which fair play is the foremost element. The main theme of the opening ceremony was ecology, an theme which from 2007 onward has been central in the discussions regarding the Beira of tomorrow.

The Ceremony featured ten artistic moments bringing forward episodes from natural and Beiran history, in which more than 10,000 artists performed. After the artistic moment, the Parade of the Athletes has brought together for the first time all the best sportsmen and women of the world showing that the bright future which we all want can only be achieved through unity.

It has been an important moment for the Beiran Ministry of Culture and Sports as it finally shown that Beira has achieved the necessary legitimacy for which it has fought so much during the dictatorship years. When the first Festival Projects were brought forward in the late 1980s, they were met with boycotts from many of the world's nations, many which today are now present in Ribamar.

The festival's first event will be the basketball match between Xinhai and Pelasgia, followed by the football match between Kadikistan and Beira. After the shuffle and the odd number of the teams participating in the football events, Eiffelland has been sent directly to the semi-finals of the football tournament.

After the two games, the diving events will take place, followed by Gymnastics, Men's Rings.
