Suddenly stopping in the middle of nowhere for reasons unknown, Rasmussen must exit the train to help get it running again by request of the conductor (Stensland). Adamidis), the son of a rabbi, finds himself conflicted between his heritage and his role as a customs officer at Hierosolyma airport, as he discovers Zionists attempting to flee the country after the suppression of the revolt. The former friends are pitted against one another, directly or indirectly, in the ruins of Hierosolyma during the last days of the conflict, and its immediate aftermath.
