2 Geotrian journalists freed from Serenierre


​

After a critical diplomatic crisis involving 27 journalists being arrested for Burgo-royalisme, 25 had no evidence of illegal activities and are being released back to their home countries, the remaining 3 were charged and convicted with supporting evidence. Only 2 Geotrian journalists were wrongfully arrested in the raids on the Affiliated Press office and various human rights organizations, none were convicted of a crime. The nationalities of the three that were convicted were from Pelasgia. However with the increased tensions occurring between Serenierre and Bourgogne seem to still be high, but for now the balance of peace has been leveled out. The embassies between Geotri and Serenierre are not being reestablished in the foreseeable future.

The Economic Feud between the Chetnik Empire and the Kingdom of Eiffelland
​

The situation between the Kingodm of Eiffelland and Chetnik Empire has resulted in both countries boycotting each others goods that started as an argument on the morality of a medicinal drug that has the side effect of acting as a sort of infertility pill. The Chetnik Empire specifically from the company Boehrig Ingelheim, which produces medicine and other medical equipment. And, Eiffelland has banned the goods from the company, šajkača, owned by the cousin of Dictator Ninkovic. However this ban does not effect goods produced by any companies in Geotri, however it does affect people within both of the other countries.

Education and what it's budget


​

Currently the Department of Education has received a much larger budget, and has finally decided to divide its money to various things to improve the state of education in the country. The main thing that they have focused their money is teacher salaries, buses, new and modern textbooks, and most importantly modern schools in areas where it is direly needed. The goal is to provide the means of having a well educated people capable of advancing the nation and themselves. The nation still has a long road ahead to become one of the most well educated countries in the world, but these are the first steps that are being taken to push us into that direction.

Navy announces a new wave of warships to begin construction

Rear Admiral Kaleb Dittrich announced Tuesday morning that the Navy has ordered a new ship design from Steyer & Asser, a Geotrian company that primarily produces ships for the government. He has not stated what class ships will be designed but he has said that they were able to purchase and maintain these new ships from the redone federal budget. He has made little other remarks other than that this ship will be a major addition to the Geotrian Navy and will be "essential for the defense of the nation in the future."

We are not calling for an arms race, we are simply updating our navy just as every single nation has done. If it is such a crime to update outdated equipment we would still be using sticks and stones to fight our wars, still hunting and gathering to gather food. Innovation with ALL technology is necessary, for one idea may help another blossom. If the sail was never invented many warships would not have been created but it also allowed trade and emigration between peoples and the transfer of knowledge.

Kadikistan the Center of Attention once Again


​

With the threat of war in the Kalahari Sea averted a short time ago, Kadikistan once again threatens the careful balance of global peace. The issue this time, a bridge between Kadikistan and Calidia, will cause a blockage of trade on the northern coast of Trividonia. With several countries trying to find a solution that would appease both sides, Kadikistan then threatens all who would attempt to stall or cease its construction will be declared war on by all members of the Rurikgrad Pact.

The following statement was issued by the Commissar for External Affairs to all countries, Chancellor Adolf Schmeid said in a statement this morning, "We are appalled by the threats made by the Kadikistani official, it has also come to our attention that they may also be using this to scam neighboring countries of money to boost their faultering economy.

Udel and Heithal Motor Works seeks to sell its cars in Telora

After many countries began making trade deals with Telora, it is about time that officials from both prominent Geotrian car companies seek to make deals with Telora. With current laws the government can not facilitate a deal without consent of the companies whose goods are being traded, luckily both companies have given the OK to make a deal on their behalf with Telora. Geotrian officials are expected to contact Teloran officials by the end of the week with a deal.

High speed chase leads to a shootout!

​

Several officers were responding to a call that a local bank was being robbed, and when authorities arrived at the scene the 4 men were already hitting the road speeding away from the scene. The officers then took off in a 1 and a half hour long car chase that ended when the criminal's car was damaged to the point it would no longer continue. At which point the 4 men got out and began opening fire on the officers. Sadly 3 officers were killed and another 1 was injured. The officers then surrounded them and began to return fire, all but 1 of the criminals were killed. The last man was recovering at the hospital when he was arrested. Funerals for the fallen officers have not yet been announced by the victims grieving families.

Early tests of a Jet aircraft that can vertically land and take off has failed


​

The Luftwaffe has announced that tests of a jet aircraft, dubbed the VKST-57, crashed and killed its pilot. Hauptman Mike Bolunder was conducting a test flight when he attempted a vertical landing and the jet suddenly veered off course and crashed. He was able to successfully land and take off 3 times, sadly he was unable to regain control of the aircraft and crashed.

Companies still waiting for an answer from Telora


​

Several companies eagerly await an answer from Teloran officials on whether or not a trade deal can be made. CEO's from Udel and HMW have agreed to allow the Geotrian government to negotiate a deal with Telora on their behalf almost two weeks ago with no response from Teloran officials. "We urge the government of Telora to consider negotiating a deal with the companies, we are merely their negotiator. Do not restrict economic progress of these companies merely based on who is negotiating on their behalf. Economic prosperity of these companies benefits the workers here," Minister Heinrich Taussig said in a statement Friday afternoon.

VKST-57 Tests

VKST-57 tests since the accident 4 days ago have allowed scientists to modify the VKST-57 to be more safe and more effective in future tests. "While regrettable the accident was involving Hauptman Mike Bolunder, it has allowed us to ensure that we will not make the same mistake and lose another brave soul," one of the lead scientists on the project stated Thursday, "We hope that Hauptman Bolunder's death is not in vain and will allow us to prevent another accident again.

Electrical Fire burns down manufacturing plant


An electrical fire caused by a faulty industrial outlet burns down a manufacturing plant producing microwave ovens, several were killed or severely wounded but many were able to escape the plant. The fire was unable to spread to neighboring plants due to the speedy response of local firefighting forces, according to our local reporters. The faulty outlet, which caused the fire, was investigated and appears to be tampered with before the fire started, according to local police investigators. Police are however unsure whether this was done purposefully or was a mistake when the plant was constructed last year.

Geotrian Involvement in Borovanger
​

Geotri has been involved in the Civil War in Borovanger, providing troops and equipment, and we announce that the troops are being returned and equipment will be medical supplies and food instead of small arms and bullets. Chancellor Schmeid said in a statement earlier this week, "While our efforts in Borovanger have not reached our goals, we will support the decisions made in regards to the fate and will provide any assistance needed to the peoples of Borovanger. We can and will provide the necessary medical supplies and food supplies, and we will accept any refugees fleeing from Borovanger." Currently ships have left early this morning to reach Borovanger to retrieve the valiant soldiers returning from Borovanger, the ships are slated to return by the end of the month.

VTOL Technology and its Current Progress

Current VTOL Technology, which stands for Vertical Take Off and Landing, has progressed far since the VKST-57 Crash that tragically killed the test pilot. Current tests have proven that the VTOL planes have become much safer and refined, however it is still far from becoming a "finished product." A lead scientists said in a statement last week, "While we have come a long way from our first attempts, it is still far from being finished. At this current pace it will take another decade or two before we are able to refine the VKST-57 to be able to take off and land without the use of a launcher." With its limited budget, the project is making great progress, it is still far from finishing this race.

A New President?


​

While Chancellor Schmeid is the leader of our nation, the President helps and assists him in running this fine, prosperous nation. However the current president, President Heinrich Keisengar, is reportedly being replaced. Current reports from inside the Chancellor's office say that "Chancellor Schmeid has called his closest friends and advisers to help him in picking a replacement for President Keisengar. And that President Keisengar is expected to make a statement in regards to these rumors later today." While there is no definitive answer as to why President Keisengar is being replaced, some speculate it may be due to declining health or due to his advancing age. Currently President Keisengar is 66 and reaching the age limit for serving in office, 70. Whatever decision is made it will be made for the better of Geotri and her peoples.

Welcome President Robert Boettcher

Former President Heinrich Keisengar has willingly stepped down due to increased medical issues that are personally affecting his health, according to a statement made by Chancellor Schmeid on 9-26. "I am deeply sad to see a good friend step down from this position, however I am glad that he is seeking medical help that he has desperately needed. After convening with my advisers and officials we have decided that the president shall be, President Robert Boettcher!," Chancellor Schmeid said in the statement. President Boettcher said in his statement that he is, "fully committed to ensuring the prosperity and peace of Geotri," and to also "I shall continue to push for advancing our education system to be the best in the world, our military the fiercest, and our economy strong and sound." With a younger, more charismatic person in office, the confidence in the government has grown more and more.

The ships should have arrived at Banyuls-Sur-Mer by now and our troops should be boarding the ships as we speak. The process should finished by next week, assuming there are no issues that occur.

Sights turn to the Stars


​

The unmanned rocket Stargazer had the most successful launch in Geotrian history, having reached the outer limits of the Troposphere. The rocket having reached its final stages of flight reached almost 10km, the outer limits of Troposphere, is the farthest reaching rocket that Geotri has launched. The goal of these rocket tests is to "Reach and explore outer edges of our solar system and galaxy." While the military are keen on its militarily applications, the government is set on using it for "Non-Violent, scientific purposes." Current goals of the space exploration are unknown, but if one thing is certain it that the stars are the future.

Continued Rocket Testing
​

the Geotrian Raumfahrtagentur, or the GRfA, has continued testing rockets to reach past the Atmosphere and into Outer Space, according to a statement made by an official within the Agency. The GRfA has planned to launch a new modified version of the Stargazer to test and see if it can reach further than the original rocket. The launch is set for the 18th, weather permitting, and will be another milestone in the exploration of Outer Space.

The Grand Duchy of Bourgogne

The Grand Duchy welcomes the GRfA to join the current space consortium being led by Bourgogne and Eiffelland. The program is aiming to send a manned flight to space in the 18-24 months. Further plans for an orbit are currently underway.
