The Cedar Cup
Organised by the Rugby Union of Natal
sponsored by Cedar Airlines
a subsidiary of the Sunset Airways​

The annual rugby tournament, the prestigious Cedar Cup is soon to begin. The worlds greatest rugby clubs from around the world have qualified and will enter into a knockout tournament until one club stands to take home the Cedar Cup. This competition will begin soon and will be hosted within the Occidental Republic of the Natal.

OOC: Just like all the other Jacaranda Cup things. Anybody can enter as many clubs as they wish (Probably around 3-4, depending on your nations population you could have more or less) and these clubs would have qualified by typically winning their own national league/tournament.

General rules in the group stage:
1. There will be 6 matches per pool. Each team will play with each other.
2. Each win will be awarded 3 points and each draw will be awarded 1.
3. The club with the most points from each pool will proceed to the knockout phase.

I know I may be butchering the rugby setup with this, but I know my football (soccer) rules in cups and championships better than the rugby ones.

So for the matches themselves:
Coin Flip to decide which team starts:

Team that wins coin flip enters Stage 1 with ball.

1. Run with ball:
Roll die.
1-2 opposition gains the ball (and enters Stage 1 with ball)
3-4 enter scrum
5-6 roll for try

2. If SCRUM is entered:
Roll die
1-3 opposition gains the ball
4-6 ball is maintained return to step 1.

3 [a]. If team achieves roll for TRY:
Roll die.
1-2 fail
3-6 TRY achieved +4 points

3 . NOTE: if a 2 roll is achieved re-roll.
5-6 becomes a ''Drop Goal'' +1 points.

4. If a TRY is achieved:
roll 1 die for conversion.
1-3 fail
4-6 conversion achieved +2 points

Team that scored TRY or drop kick, opposition enters phase 1 with ball.

10 total runs are made per ''match''.

Snapping Turtles Club Sjököping

The reigning champion of Rugbyligan, the Snapping Turtles Club was created in 1993 when exchange students to the Federation brought back Rugby to Gutarike. Since then, Rugbyligan, which was instituted in 1998 has been dominated by Snapping Turtles Club with 19 national titles.​

The Twin Echo Snapping Turtles [FED] vs Tokjin University Rugby Group [TIA]
Score: 10 - 22 Scrums: 6.
Notes: The opening match. In the first half, The Twin Echo Snapping Turtles seemed to dominate the match, but the Tokjin University managed not only to equalize but rather to even lead the game, with a very strong defence, followed by a lightening offence. This style of game proved to bee extreme exhausting for the Tianlongese, but it was too late in the game for the Westermen to do anything in changing the score.

The Nauplia Rugby Association [CAR] vs VVA Tiversk [TAR]
Score: 10 - 18 Scrums: 12.
Notes: A very intense match. The Tarusans from VVA Tiversk seemed to try an dominate the field, doing their best to outplay the Carians from Nauplia. Around half time, the Carians adopted the same tactic, and even managed to take the lead, but it seemed that the very strong Tarusan defence didn't manage to break through and in the very end, the Tarusans came out on top.

The Golden Dragon Club [TIA] vs The Taima Braves [NAT]
Score: 22 - 8 Scrums: 6.
Notes: The Golden Dragons seems to have been everywhere on the field, completely overwhelming the Taima Braves. A strong offence, complemented by an even better defence has shown the viewers that the Golden Dragons might have come to this cup as one of the best prepared teams.

Graticola Isola [RAD] vs The Blackmere Gators [NAT]
Score: 38 - 0 Scrums: 16.
Notes: A completely one sided match, where the Radilan Graticola Isola played rounds around the Blackmere Gators. A completely absent offense and and a subpar defence have brought a record breaking defeat for the Natalian team, while diligence and discipline has written history for the Radilans.

Imperia Ilimsk [TAR] vs The Harton Cougars [NAT]
Score: 20 - 14 Scrums: 22.
Notes: After an intense and close first half, the Natalians seemed to have faltered and the Tarusans used this to gain momentum. At the very end, the Cougars did their best to try and set up their game, but it was too late. The start of the 2nd round was delayed by a naked striker who invaded the field and ran across it. Later investigations proved that he was a citizen of Tianlong.

Makarta Warrior [TIA] The Tiroe City Strikers [FED]
Score: 20 - 18 Scrums: 12.
Notes: The Makarta Warriors and the Tiroe City Scrikers seemed very closely balanced at first, as the Warriors opened the score, the Strikers took the lead by the 2nd half, but with a series of tries with conversions, the Warriors managed to win the match.

RC Kremlyov [TAR] vs The Ellwood City Blues [FED]
Score: 12 - 14 Scrums: 9.
Notes: A very close match where for most of it, RC Kremlyov has the upper hand, but the Elwood City Blues treading closeby. In the very last seconds, the Blues managed to achieve a try with conversion, winning 6 points and taking the lead, winning the match.

Snapping Turtles Club Sjököping [SCA] vs Collective Stars Club [NIV]
Score: 12 - 6 Scrums: 10.
Notes: TA match where the defenders where clearly the MVPs. Both teams had great defenses, but its the Scanian Snapping Turtles which managed to break through with Nievish team. Because of the political rivalry, extra security was offered for this match.

The Twin Echo Snapping Turtles [FED] vs Imperia Ilimsk [TAR]
Score: 98 - 39 Scrums: 8.
Notes: The Westermen thoroughly dominated the Tarusans in this match. In the first half, it felt that Imperia will be getting the upper hand but the first penalty kicks which brought them in the lead fully motivated the Westernmen to play at their best, giving the Tarusans no chance to do anything in the 2nd round.

Malcolm Marx Stadium, Cedar City, 15th of June
Tokjin University Rugby Group [TIA] vs The Harton Cougars [NAT]
Score: 61 - 45 Scrums: 10.
Notes: After losing their first match, the Cougars changed strategy. Initially the match was very balanced between the two teams, but it was clear by the mid of the 2nd round that the Cougars had more stamina and endourance than Tokjin University, giving the Natalians a strong advantange against the Tianlongese defence.

Golden Sunset Stadium, Inwood, 16th of June
The Nauplia Rugby Association [CAR] vs Makarta Warrior [TIA]
Score: 40 - 81 Scrums: 5.
Notes: Makarta started the match in a very strong position acheiving three conversions in a row. For the remainder of the 1st half, the Nauplians were demoralised, but in the 2nd half they tried their best to recover. It was sadly too little, too late.

Benjamin Alejo Stadium, San Juan, 17th of June
VVA Tiversk [TAR] vs The Tiroe City Strikers [FED]
Score: 53 - 83 Scrums: 9.
Notes: Both Tiversk and Tiroe City began the match evenly, and after a first half dominated by VVA Tiversk, Tiroe City began to catch up, managing to clearly show their endurance and stamina at the very end, seeming like they were everywhere on the field.

The Golden Dragon Club [TIA] vs RC Kremlyov [TAR]
Score: 65 - 90 Scrums: 11.
Notes: The Tarusans started the match strong, getting the lead. It seems that as much as the Golden Dragons tried to catch up, they didn't manage to outplay Kremlyov.

Benjamin Alejo Stadium, San Juan, 19th of June
The Taima Braves [NAT] vs The Ellwood City Blues [FED]
Score: 66 - 69 Scrums: 10.
Notes: The Westernesse Derby, the most famous rugby rivalry in the world between the Taima Braves and the Ellwood City Blues surprises its public, as it provided the best show as of yet in the Cedar Cup. In the first part of the Match, the Braves started strong, but Ellwood City started to recover and the 2nd half continued very closely, with Ellwood City managing to get the advantage literally in the last seconds, winning the match.

Malcolm Marx Stadium, Cedar City, 20th of June
Graticola Isola [RAD] vs Snapping Turtles Club Sjököping [SKA]
Score: 48 - 72 Scrums: 6.
Notes: Graticola started the match strongly, building upon being previous huge victory against the Gators, but by the end of the 1st half, they started to slow down, as the Snapping Turtles took the lead. In the 2nd half Graticola managed to start it strongly again, taking the lead, but the Snapping Turtles quickly started playing rounds around them, thoroughly dominating the field.

Golden Sunset Stadium, Inwood, 21st of June
he Blackmere Gators [NAT] vs Collective Stars Club [NIV]
Score: 42 - 72 Scrums: 8.
Notes: MA very close match between the Gators and the Collective Stars. The Gators broke the ice scoring, but quickly the Nievish went on countering them, with the 1st half ending with an equal score. By the 2nd half, the Natalians seem to have been thoroughly exhausted as the Nievish dominated the rest of the match.

The Twin Echo Snapping Turtles [FED] vs The Harton Cougars [NAT]
Score: 46 - 67 Scrums: 6.
Notes: The game started strongly for the Cougars, who managed to get two conversions and a field goal, before the Snapping Turtles mobilised into play. Even so, the Turtles didn't manage to take the lead as the Cougars continued their advance. Sadly for the Natalians, it was too little, too late as they already had no chance to advance to the knockout stage.

Tokjin University Rugby Group [TIA] vs Imperia Ilimsk [TAR]
Score: 119 - 37 Scrums: 10.
Notes: A record breaking match for the Tianlongese team, where they played rounds against the Tarusans. Because of the huge difference in goals received, the Tarusans won't be advancing to the knockout stage, with the Twin Echo Snapping Turtes taking the lead, even if they are even in points.

Golden Sunset Stadium, Inwood, 24th of June
Coligny City Bisons [OTW] vs The Tiroe City Strikers [FED]
Score: 77 - 57 Scrums: 4.
Notes: The Tiroe City Strikers started the match strongly, with expectations that the Bisons will be demotivated by their lack of points and thus inability to advance into the knockout stage, but they quickly started to get outplayed. By the 2nd half the Bisons took the lead and ended the match with two conversions.

VVA Tiversk [TAR] vs Makarta Warrior [TIA]
Score: 73 - 58 Scrums: 11.
Notes: A very hostile match between the two teams. In the first half and the beginning of the 2nd half, the two teams were alternating in taking the lead, but in the end, Tiversk managed to cement their lead by achieving two conversions.

The Golden Dragon Club [TIA] vs The Ellwood City Blues [FED]
Score: 63 - 64 Scrums: 6.
Notes: ThEllwood City started the match strongly, but by the 9th minute, the Golden Dragons evened out. For the rest of the first half, the two teams alternated in taking the lead. Two successful penalty shots and a try have pushed the Golden Dragons in the lead by the 61st minute, but the Westermen thoroughly mobilised and managed to score a field goal in the very last moment, winning the match.

The Taima Braves [NAT] vs RC Kremlyov [TAR]
Score: 54 - 61 Scrums: 5.
Notes: A tense match between the Braves and Kremlyov. In the 1st half, the Tarusans managed to take the lead, but in the 2nd half, the Braves did their best to return to the game, but it was too late.

Malcolm Marx Stadium, Cedar City, 28th of June
Graticola Isola [RAD] vs Collective Stars Club [NIV]
Score: 30 - 91 Scrums: 5.
Notes: A shocking match, and a huge upset victory for the Collective Stars Club. Graticola scored first, but the Collective Stars began to play at their best, dominating both halves of the match.

Golden Sunset Stadium, Inwood, 29st of June
The Blackmere Gators [NAT] vs Snapping Turtles Club Sjököping [SKA]
Score: 75 - 63 Scrums: 8.
Notes: The Snapping turtles started the match strongly, but in the 2nd half, the Gators were much more energised and played much more on the offence, managing to take the lead by the end of the match.
