Herald for the Union

Our victorious Blue Union Captaincy, of three regions comprising Životinje's modern day Union, formally express our wholehearted interest in stabilizing our relations in wake of recent events which have dismounted this nation from its accustomed neutrality in European Affairs.

Das Königreich Franken, The Levantine States, Bataafsche Volksrepubliek, Robotnícka Republike Karantanija, Kaisertum Wieserreich, and the Oikawan Empire are each requested for individual venues in locations chosen and prioritized by each sovereign nation.

Extravagant customs are not a highlight of the Blue Union, thus, we do not request any show of wealth or favors expected by other nations all of you must be accustomed to meeting with. All due respect to the Międzymorzan King, his grand skill in hosting events is not one we share.

Accords such as these should commence immediately, and our flexible Foreign Affairs Committee is willing to slingshot qualified officials Europe wide at a moments notice to accommadate the needs of our friends internationally.

Please consider this as a pressing call from the Blue Union to expand our horizons of understanding of said nations, as a broad stroked gesture to spread peace. And if you must decline to accept our offer of a face-to-face meeting, we are more then prepared to field discussions via any means of technology.

We appreciate every nation mentioned here with every fiber of our being, who are examples to us of how a nation amongst the international community should conduct themselves.

Closest metropolis to the south-east, Bamberg had a proud merchant history in relation to the entities of the near region. Therefore, the Foreign Office had selected it as a venue for the talks suggested by Životinje. Both to honour the visitors and because he was personally very curious, Foreign Minister Robert Beaumont himself would receive their delegate in a small yet finely furnished conference room at Bamberg's most posh and luxurious hotel. Being of Lorrainese descent, landed gentry that picked Lutheranism way before religious tolerance was established in the kingdom, Robert Beaumont showed some distinctively Lorraine features despite his family's long Franconian history. Franken's chief diplomat was averagely sized for a Franconian (1.79m), had curled blackhair with some grey streaks and an ironically shaped mouth.

Since diplomatic contact to Životinje had been scarce in the past decades as well as access to satisfying intelligence, Beaumont's country dossier was embarrassingly thin. And to add insult to injury, the Auswärtiges Amt had had some trouble to find an available and reliable interpreter for the national language of Životinje. The Foreign Minister sighed, as their delegate was announced. He'd make the most of it.

Breaking from a typical week as Chairman of a notably strong Party of the Christian Democratic Union. By direct order of Sindikat Marešal Pijan, followed by an insignificant approval by Civilnog Marešal Posavski. Oleh Ksenikia's services as a Centrist leader an figure of the moderate religious movement in Central Europe, made him the top pick to go westward past Wiese, and far on in to the Duchy of Unterbamberg, Bamberg.

Descended from Životinje's "Wild Men" of Sangemuntenia, his strawberry blond hair was an eye grabbing characteristic. Likely his only one, other then this hair, he looked precisely like any other Sangemuntenian on the street might as he slipped down a slope of age. Fifty-five years young put him within a few years of Marešal Pijan, a similarity he was using to counsel him on a spiritual level, and of course close counsel on the pressing political issues of the day.

Approaching his contacts in Franken, he could not stop himself from spitting out an opening line he had come up with while flying in on a civilian flight full of crying children and bickering couples - "Here to save the World, good sirs. We can quell another World War, save millions of lives, and years of suffering." Representative Ksenikia displayed a grim face, believing this era could be a page out of Revelations if he and his colleagues could not compartmentalize the conflict in Volga before it spread Europe wide.

"Respectable European powers such as Das Königreich Franken, are going to be crucial elements in the ultimate mechanism which grants Europe..And..And..And Volga peace, may the Lord bless their souls." Oleh Ksenikia looked up to the ceiling, as if he were looking up at the Lord for a moment before regaining eye-contact with his hosts "Oh, why..Why of course, how rude of me. Please forgive me - I have forgotten where I am, this is your country. Let us begin with introductions, and leave the apocalypse for a later discussion."

Successfully trying to hide that he was flabbergasted Robert Beaumont listened to the interpreter's translation, while he cast Oleh Ksenikia a polite smile. Alas, I didn't see the wood for the trees, the Foreign Minister realised. Životinje wanted to strike some friendships in the west of Europe in the wake of a conflict with Volga. He made a mental notice to inquire the secret services, Franken's and the allies' ones, about any information on this conflicts after this particular rendezvous.

Professionally diplomatic Beaumont responded to Ksenikia's initial statement: "First, let me welcome you to the Kingdom of Franken, delegate. I'm truly delighted to meet you. Don't worry, I do understand it's a difficult time for your home country. I think I have a good idea why you have come to Franken. Nonetheless, could you please give me a brief synopsis on what has happened thus far?" Actually Beaumont could have added 'from your point of view', but that would have been redundant. What sensible national envoy wouldn't try to tell the story through his nation's collective eyes? The Foreign Minister's true motive for the question was to give himself some time to consider the facts.
