Conference on Council of Nations Reform
Kilkila
People's Republic of Vangala
Monday 7th February

The People's Republic of Vangala wishes to extend an invitation to all countries interested and committed to the cause of reform to the Council of Nations to a conference hosted in Kilkila, our great capital city. The outrageous and unacceptable abuse of the veto power by the Oikawan Empire has demonstrated the dysfunctional nature of the Council of Nations and lest we wish to forsake the ideals of international co-operation and harmony, upon which the organisation was founded, we must combine our efforts to seek a durable solution.

It is the strong belief of the People's Republic of Vangala that the current structure of the Council of Nations, which divides nations based on an archaic and unjust international hierarchy. The current members of the Security Council have proven to be unsuitable for their privileged position and we must raise the prospect of their removal and also question the future existence of this elitist body.

The Vangalan people have a proud tradition of hospitality and I can personally guarantee the welfare of all attending dignitaries.

Non-committal nations are not welcome.

Yours sincerely,

অজয় কামারুজ্জামান

While His Majesty's Government has differing views on many of the subjects that the External Affairs Minister references as motivation for this conference, representation from the Foreign Office as well as some members of His Majesty's Mission to the Council of Nations will be in attendance.

Životinje takes the notion of International reform very seriously, and finds the the current state of affairs to be insufferable and contemptible. Though in attending this Conference, we would like to make it clear that we do not intend to point fingers, or take sides.

As a founder of the Council of Nations, in partnership with Greater Sarmatia, our fathers and grandfathers understood that this organization was not created with every nations interests in mind. A long dark streak of greed and arrogance can be seen connecting the power brokers of the Great War, and the future War to come.

My nation has never sought power on the international stage, nor will it ever, our heart is forever set on indifferent stability with our fellow man, a pristine solitude. And while the isolated topic which brings us all together next week seems to be a point of concurrence, we understand that there will be several points of contention. Our commitment to honesty will not prevent hard words from hitting soft places, but we have no intention of being a distraction, or making much of a scene.

May this first Conference of Reform not be taken at face value, and may we remember that if we do not agree today, there is always tomorrow.

Nakoda, Akwesasne

Dear Minister Qamaruzzaman,

With the veto blanketing what was said to be a good list of nations, some of us were denied entry into the Council of Nations. However, the Akwesasnan government does not believe that the Northern Council was given enough time to react to this situation as the veto was so sudden, so quietly done and so final.

Despite both of our nation's gap in political differences, I myself, Akwesasne's Minister of Foreign Affairs, will attend this summit which I feel can provide some progressive discussion between all sides of all spectrums - something, we feel, the Council of nations has not yet perfected and that the Northern Council are becoming a prime example in.

Sincerely,

Leon Cardinal

As victims of Oikawa's blatant power abuse, we suport any notion to dissolve the Security Council and to reform the apporval process for new applicants. We accept the invite.

Sincerely,

The People's Republic of Vangala congratulates the brave nations who have boldly taken the first heroic step towards reforming the Council of Nations and hopes more will continue to accept our invitation.

The Federal Republic is disappointed that non-committal nations are unwelcome to this conference. Whilst we feel the debate over the future role and structure of the Council of Nations is one that is of vital importance to future both of that body and of Europe as a whole, we are as yet uncommitted to any specific policy options in this regard. We are open to hearing arguments from both sides on this matter before we make a final decision, and ask that the People's Republic consider admitting a Teloran delegation to observe proceedings at this conference in order to better inform our internal dialogue, though we remain officially non-committed to any reform options that may be presented to the Council. In any case, we will watch the outcome of this conference closely.

WOOLWICH, WEDNESDAY, 2ND FEBRUARY 2011
_____________________________________________

The Right Honourable The Secretary of State has received the Command of Her Engellexic Majesty The Queen to make known the following gracious Statement of Her Engellexic Majesty to the Princes, the Chiefs and the People of the Peoples Republic of Vangala.

Extension of The Queen's Statement in Council.

TO THE PRINCES AND CHIEFS OF THE PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF VANGALA

Her Engellex Majesty, has instructed me to convey, after recapitulating the chief points of the Vangalan External Affairs Minister’s proposal and expressing the desire of Her Engellexic Majesty’s cabinet to act in concurrence with the international community upon the great questions now agitating Europe, especially connected with the great struggle going on in the Council of Nations, concluded by declining the Vangalan invitation with concerns.

Is the end proposed attainable at the present moment by the course suggested by the Government of the People’s Republic of Vangala? Such is the question anxiously and carefully examined by Her Engellexic Majesty. After weighing all the intelligence which has been received of the revolutionary regime in the People’s Republic of Vangala, we are led to the conclusion that there is no ground at the present moment to hope that the revolutionary governance of Vangala can be awarded any degree of trust. Her Engellexic Majesty believes, therefore, that it would be better to watch carefully the progress of the situation within the Council of Nations.

Her Engellexic Majesty, the Queen of the Free Union, other Royal personages, and members of the Cabinet should not be expected to attend; and a hope is deeply expressed that the Lords Foreign Affairs Committee will not be induced to accept the invitation.

By the Grace of GOD, of the FREE UNION of ENGELLEX and BLOIS, CHARLOTTE, the QUEEN, through the Right Honourable the SECRETARY of STATE, ANTHONY PELHAM-HOLLES

As HM Government recognizes the need for reform of the system currently in place in the Council of Nations a representative of the Kingdom of Anglyn will attend the conference.

The People's Republic of Vangala welcomes the continued interest in the Conference and the sustained support for reform to the Council of Nations. We must not allow our voices to be silenced.

OOC: Sorry for the delay, RL stuff. Post will come up this weekend.
