To Batavian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Dear Colleague

I am writing you on behalf of Praetorian Government. We are currently engaged in a world wide tour to make our nation known on the international stage. We are also lobbying for our acceptance to the General Assembly. Last week we visited Judean Republic and we established solid ties in Himyar Region. We are currently seeking a partner in Europe and we would like to establish special diplomatic relations with Batavie mostly because we have a german-speaking minority and we thus believe that we have common cultural ties.

Please tell us if you are open to grant us a meeting.
Respectfully, Mark Hertzog, vice-prime-minister.

Greetings,

Praetoria, with its location due west of Batavia and its willingness to grow and expand would make a natural and excellent partner with Vlaanderen. Batavia itself is going through a period of great change after our former communist dictatorship collapsed nearly a year ago. We have embraced democracy and the free market system, although with our own special additions to ensure as smooth as a transition as possible.

I, as Foreign Minister of the Republic, and my colleague Prime Minister Alex de Jonghe, would be delighted to meet with representatives of your government in Vlaanderen, our bustling and ever-changing capital. Simply send us your itinerary and we will ensure that Vlaanderen-Vaanta International Airport is ready for your arrival.

Batavia is a country of Dutch-speaking people with a minority speaking Batavian-Swedish, very close to standard Swedish spoken in Suionia. Around 5 per cent of our people speak this language, which was oppressed during the communist era. We are also attracting many immigrants from Himyar and Cathay who seek work and they, too, bring their own cultures and languages with them. We do not, however, have any German-speakers, although the German language is used widely in the Northern Council in Hilversum (a city near the border with Arendaal) as a working language and when we meet with foreign delegations we tend to conduct meetings in German, a commonly used diplomatic language.

At any rate we look forward to your visit and hope that you bring with you a full agenda to discuss.

Always at your service,

Arjan van Vliet
Minister van Buitenlandse Zaken
