WIEN (Ostmark) - “Die Ostmarkische Revolution” (The Ostmarkian Revolution) is an unapologetically political, National-Syndicalist and Grasserist game about worker liberation in the face of overpowering capitalism. It’s also quite a bit of fun to play. “The idea for the game came from a multitude of places,” Hans Braun, the developer, told Die Volksrepublik “For one my own politics. I’m a Grasserist and I’ve never seen an unapologetically National-Syndicalist game ever and I played games my entire life. So I started thinking, what would be an interesting way to tackle that as a topic. So we bring it up in the game and we try and present it in what I feel are honest, earnest but still fun ways."

In “Die Ostmarkische Revolution” players control an ever-growing crowd of people. As the players move through the game from left to right, they liberate buildings — growing their crowd — and take on enemies from the routine to the surreal. The basic weapon of the crowd is their fists, but players can pick up other items like bricks to toss at the enemies. Because it is a National-Syndicalist game, there is no singular hero, instead, players control one member of the crowd. Once they die, another member steps up until the crowd is gone and the game ends. The bigger the crowd the more powerful the attack as well, for certain weapons. For instance, when the player-controlled character throws a brick, all of the members of the crowd throw bricks.

“There’s no singular face of the revolution,” Braun said. “The National-Syndicalist revolution for us is everybody working together in common cause and the liberation of each other. So that’s why there no one singular person who is in charge. The politics of the game are all about worker liberation and workers of all class and creed working together to create a new system where everyone is taken care of and basically shrugging off the control of the capitalist system.” he added.

WIEN (Ostmark) - The Volksrat of the People's Republic of Ostmark passed the national minimum wage bill on monday by unanimity, as part of an effort by Wise Leader Horst Grasser to tackle wage inequality. The measure will see hundreds of thousands of workers earn 600.000 OstMarks (300 Euromarks) a month. It was initially meant to be introduced earlier in November 2018 in a bid to boost the economy.

The bill will become law once it is signed by Volkskanzler Horst Grasser and it will reduce inequality and stimulate economic growth as workers spend more. Critics say it could lead to increased unemployment because some private employers won’t be able to afford higher wage bills. People's Chancellor Horst Grasser said the bill could address the perennial wage inequality and reliance on welfare, which is "Notorously high but necessary to guarantee Ostmarkian workers a free and honourable existence" he said.

“I am very pleased that the journey towards addressing the plight of the lowest paid workers has reached this milestone,” commented Vizekanzlerin Andrea Grasser. “The minimum wage of will see the wages of 950.000 Ostmarkians rise. This is equal to 35% percent of workers and will directly benefit one third of the nation,” she added.

WIEN (Ostmark) - It is the stand of the National-Syndicalist People's Party to write a new history of national independence, holding high the banner of sovereignty. National sovereignty is the fundamental principle to be adhered to in settling the affairs of the nation. A sovereign nation is responsible for its internal affairs and has the force to propel their settlement.

Ostmark is no longer a weak one that had been subject to ruin and subjugation after being deprived of its sovereignty by international capitalist and liberal lobbies, and it has grown to be a resourceful and powerful one capable of attaining national independence and carving out its destiny by itself. There is no problem unsolvable if the People's Republic of Ostmark has the transparent view and stance and firm courage and self-confidence to solve the issue of the nation, the issue of national sovereignty and total war on the international usury cliqué.

The outsiders who strangled Ostmark with their vile interest rates never accepted the existence of a powerful, independent and sovereign Ostmark. And they will never wish to see Ostmark getting strong through independence and sovereignty. The affairs of the People's Republic of Ostmark can never be settled with any others' approval or help. The Ostmarkian people should only worship their nation and trust the enlightened rule of Wise Leader Horst Grasser and discuss the issue of national sovereignty and workers' emancipation with their fellow countrymen.

The sovereign national working class, the true holders of power in Germania's first Workers' and Peasants' People's Republic, should never allow outsiders' interference and tyranny to keep the People's Republic of Ostmark subjugated forever and dominate the nation and the region, but settle the national issue, the issue of sovereignty threatened by international capitalist lobbies, in line with the independent and sovereign demands of the nation of Ostmark on the principle of national self-determination.

WIEN (Ostmark) - During a mass celebration in Wien, Weiser Fuhrer Horst Grasser has said the Volksrepublik Ostmark could defend itself in any war started by enemies of the proletariat. Thousands of soldiers - many with black banners - marched past him through the city's main square in tight formation. The parade was truly amazing in its immensity and organisation. It lasted for two hours with countless rows of soldiers and then civilians marching past without break.

The message was clear: the workers of Ostmark stand by the Wise Leader, and he shows no sign of a softer stance towards the hostile international capitalist lobbies. As he put it: "The Party's revolutionary armament means we are ready to fight any kind of war waged by the capitalist imperialists". If his words were not clear enough, the hardware on parade underlined them - line upon line of trucks with missiles following line upon line of heavy artillery. "Iron spirit and the united forces of our army and people have enabled us to break through the imperialists' sanctions and isolation, are forcing the enemies to extreme anxiety and fear," said the People's Chancellor.

Later, as the parade continued, tens of thousands of civilians, including school-children, danced and waved coloured pom-poms. The celebrations continued, after a downpour of rain, with an evening torchlight parade which thousands of Wien citizens have been seen practising for in public squares across the city. A late-night concert featuring the all-female DiscoAbteilung band - a popular Ostwave band - was also held, which cost foreigners wanting to attend about 25.000 OstMarks (12,5 Euromarks).

WIEN (Ostmark) - When foreigners ask me what it is like living in Ostmark, most expect to hear tales of secret police, bread queues and other nasty manifestations of life in a one-party state. They are invariably disappointed when I explain that the reality is quite different, and the Volksrepublik Ostmark, far from being hell on earth, is in fact, a rather a fun place to live. The National-Syndikalistische Volkspartei provides everyone with guaranteed employment, good education and free healthcare. Violent crime is virtually non-existent. But perhaps the best thing of all is the overriding sense of camaraderie. People trust one another, and what we have we share.

One of the best things is the way leisure and holiday opportunities are open up to all. Before the National Revolution led by our Weiser Fuhrer Volkskanzler Horst Grasser, holidays were reserved for the upper classes. After the revolution though, as in many other aspects of life, things changed for the better. Today almost everyone can afford to go away and visit our country's landscapes and monuments, thanks to the network of subsidised trade-union, company and co-operative holiday centres.

The National-Syndicalist People's Party understands the value of education and culture. Before the advent of National-Syndicalism, opportunities for the children of the peasantry and urban working class to rise up the educational ladder were limited. All that changed under the enlightened guidance of our Wise Leader. Culture is regarded as extremely important by the government.

National-Syndicalism does not want to restrict the finer things of life to the upper and middle classes - the very best of music, literature and dance are for all to enjoy. Lavish subsidies are given to institutions including orchestras, opera houses, theatres and cinemas. Ticket prices are subsidised by the State, making visits to the opera and theatre affordable. 'Cultural houses' are present in every town and village, so provincial, working-class people have easy access to the performing arts, and to the best performers.

Every Monday is 'family night', when State television is taken off the air to encourage families to do other things together. Others call it 'family planning night', and I am sure the figures showing the proportion of children conceived on Monday nights would make interesting reading.

Although we live well under National-Syndicalism and there is always enough food for us to eat, we are not bombarded with advertising for products we don't need. We are not obsessed by money. My father, who works as a mechanic, always makes a point of charging people fairly. He once saw a broken-down car with an open bonnet - a sight that always lifted his heart. It belonged to an Eiffellander tourist. My father fixed the car but refused payment - even a bottle of beer. For him it is unnatural that anyone would think of accepting money for helping someone in distress.

Our voice - the voice of those whose lives have improved with National-Syndicalism - is seldom heard when it comes to discussions of what life is like in the People's Republic of Ostmark. Risen from the rubbles of poverty and despair, Ostmark has become a beacon of freedom, solidarity, emancipation and cameraderie.

Horst Grasser was right: the days of sorrow are over.

FREIKORPSFEST! 660 YEARS OF TRADITION

LUDWIGSTADT AM SEE (Ostmark) - The Freikorpsfest (Free Corps Festival) is a traditional militia’s festival that has been celebrated in Ostmark since 1359, the year of the establishment of the Erzherzogtum Östermark (Duchy of Ostmark), as a nominal subject of the Kingdom of Elben. Originally, the Freikorps organizations were like the local militia formed to defend villages and towns against slavic invasions in times when Ostmarkian Dukes struggled to maintain an efficient and permanent military force near the Ostermark (Eastern Border).

Over the centuries, the Freikorps became mercenary companies at the disposal of rulers and monarchs across Gallia and Germania. Men would drill and train togethe, and sometimes they held competitions to see who was the best shot. Of course, no competitions are complete without parades, parties and drinking, and before you know it, Freikorpsfest became a tradition.

Abolished in 1959 after the abdication of the last King of Ostmark, Ludwig IV, Volkskanzler Horst Grasser issued a decree to reinstate the centuries old festival in the official public holidays calendar to "Restore pride in the history of our nation and our centuries old military traditions, which are still observed and adopted in their original drills and schemes by the women and the men of the Volkswehr".

During the traditional Freikorpsfest celebrations, men of all ages, including children, take part to shooting contests with bb guns, parade along the main street of their native village and town and pay homage to "the King", usually a local elder dressed up in royal attires. In short, the Freikorpsfest is a festival involving germanian pride, shooting and alcohol. What could go wrong?

The Wise Leader's opinion on the state of the national economy and recent international events.

Heinrich Obenaus: Herr Volkskanzler, it is an honor to finally meet you in person. Thank you for accepting this interview.

Horst Grasser: It is my pleasure Mr. Obenaus, i read Die Volksrepublik everyday and i really appreciate your articles and your writings. As i recall you were one of our first supporters when you worked as a columnist for Ostmarkische Zeitung. I did not forget that. Thank you for your loyalty and your contribution to the cause of the National Revolution.

Heinrich Obenaus: Your welcome Herr Volkskanzler, so let's start with the first question: the Republic of Friuli has expelled our ambassador in retaliation to the news of three drug dealers sentenced to death by Wien's People's Court. What will Ostmark's reaction be?

Horst Grasser: None. The People's Republic of Ostmark has no economic or political interest in pursuing diplomacy with the Republic of Friuli. As far as i remember we've never had any formal contact. We are an independent, sovereign nation that seeks to maintain friendly diplomatic relations with all the governments of Europe. This, however, must come with mutual respect for sovereignty and respect for the national institutions that, as in our case, represent the people and the working class. What should the People's Assembly do? Abolish death penalty to make the Republic of Friuli happy and beg them to revert their decision to expel our diplomatic corp? We aren't the playground of Gallia-Germania. And most importantly: we will never amend our values and our laws to accomodate foreign interferences in our national affairs.

Heinrich Obenaus: Speaking of diplomatic relations, the failure of the Long Sea Cooperation talks have dealt a hard blow to Ostmark's initiative to shape some sort of unity among Long Sea nations. Do you think there will be a second chance, and do you think initial perplexities will eventually be put aside for a, let's say, "greater good"?

Horst Grasser: I was skeptical about the Long Sea Cooperation Initiative even tho it was an initiative promoted by Ostmark in the face of growing threats from Post-Delegationist piracy that, just for the sake of argument, has never got us directly involved. It was an attempt, driven by nothing but good intentions, to open our eyes and realize that the past cannot be changed, but the future is all open for planning. My dream? A coalition of Gallo-Germanian countries ready to defend the continent against foreign aggression. My underestimation of national interests, and past rivalries reforged anew, was the main factor that led to the failure of that conference. However, i think i have made a very clear point when i said that Ostmark will never sit around a table with the stateless entities of the far east and the far north.

Heinrich Obenaus: So you don't think there will be a second chance.

Horst Grasser: The Long Sea is a sea of gun powder and sailors are smoking right on top of it. We will keep a safe distance and observe the evolution of events. We will always defend our national sovereignty and territorial integrity against foreign aggression. Ostmark wants peace and will always promote peace based on the principle of good neighborliness and mutual respect, but there are people in Europe who don't want peace. We will stay vigilant.

Heinrich Obenaus: Let's change the subject. Data suggests Ostmark's economy is on the way to recovery. Optimistic figures suggest Ostmark's GDP will grow by 5% this year, while others claim growth will hardly go over 2,5-3%.

Horst Grasser: The growth of a nation must not only be measured by the growth of its gross domestic product for it does not automatically translate in an improvement of the condition and the quality of life of the working classes. Our economy is growing because our citizens, and our trade partners, have gained more confidence in Ostmark and therefor are more willing to invest. Internal demand is indeed showing signs of recovery, and i believe this is thanks to the None Shall Freeze, None Shall Starve programme which spearheaded the construction of thousands of new apartments and homes for the poor, the homeless and the unemployed. The Zero Interests Loans granted to young couples have also enabled thousands of boys and girls to buy one of said apartments, a car, furnitive, and also have babies. More family units means more demand for all sorts of goods, from furniture to home appliances, clothes, food, etc. Thanks to the People's Labour Service, tens of thousands of Ostmarkian men and women obtained a salary which they spend on the aforementioned products. All these factors, if combined togheter, inevitably lead to a growth that we translate in a macroeconomic data such as the growth of our GDP. What really matters is the improvement of the quality of life of the people of Ostmark, who are guaranteed an employment, a home, food, free healthcare and free education. We will leave nobody behind, for the National-Syndicalist People's Party values people.

Heinrich Obenaus: The Protectorare of Occitania has announced a new immigration policy deemed controversial by part of the international community. The decision to allow a large influx of refugees from Himyar has been considered detrimental for the cultural and social heritage of Western Occitania. The Grand Duchy of Lars, aswell as the Great Southern Kingdom of Justosia, have announced sanctions. More countries joined the bandwagon of international outrage. What is your opinion and what is the position of the People's Republic of Ostmark on this matter?

Horst Grasser: The People's Republic of Ostmark wishes nothing but the best for the Protectorate of Western Occitania and we reaffirm the friendship between our peoples, who are actively cooperating to bring about the material and moral progress of our respective nations. Almost one thousand workers of the People's Labour Service are contributing as we speak, to the reconstruction of Western Occitania as part of the trade agreement signed between Ostmark and Serenierre. It must be noted that our workers in the Protectorate are highly specialized carpenters, welders and engineers who are providing a vital and fundamental contribution to reconstruction efforts. Speaking of himyari refugees, it is up to Western Occitanian authorities to provide enough employment and resources in order to avoid wage gaps or competition among the workers themselves, rather than a genuine and healty competition among goods and services. However, if the government of the protectorate took this decision it means they have planned ahead and considered all alternatives. Personally, such policy would be absoloutely catastrophic for the economy of Ostmark but, again, our countries are different, and so are our economies.

Heinrich Obenaus: In the past months Ostmark and Eiffelland have shown great signs of mutual respect and cooperation. What is the nature of the relationship between Ostmark and our western neighbors?

Horst Grasser: It is the product of bipartisan pragmatism. The prerequisite for good neighborliness is the mutual respect of sovereignty and the right to self-determination. Eiffelland respects Ostmark and does not interfere in our national affairs. Ostmark also respects Eiffelland, and does not interfere in its national affairs. Is there any reason why the People's Republic of Ostmark should shut the doors closed to Eiffelland and reject, by principle, any form of cooperation? Despite our profound political, social and economic differences, we both speak the same language and belong to the same ethnic and cultural group, the Germanian one. Is there any real reason to be hostile to Eiffelland or categorically refuse to sit with them around a table and discuss the possibility of trade and cooperation, in the interest of both countries? I don't see any real reason to pursue such a hostile policy against them. We've coexisted one next to another for almost 600 years and i see no reason why this peaceful coexistence should come to an end.

According to us, it does not make sense to categorically refuse contacts with countries that have different economic or social systems than your own country. At this moment, it does not make sense to declare your own system the best. We don't know which system is the best. We only know that full-blown capitalism and full-blown communism do not work; only systems which mix capitalism and socialism work. Many governments understand that, among others the government of Ostmark. The only question is: Which mixture works the best? The answer to that question is unknown at the moment. The only thing we can do, is try each kind of mixture out.
Based on that, we consider it counterproductive that the government of Justosia breaks contacts with all countries having a system it considers not capitalist enough. Everybody is looking for the economic holy grail; nobody is in the position to claim that his or her system is the best one. At least at this moment.

The militant appeal of the people makes the whole country seethe like a furnace. We should hold fast to self-reliance as a treasured sword for prosperity to wage a dynamic all-people death-defying campaign and thus write a great history of the country to be prosperous with self-reliance and Ostmarkischer National-Syndikalismus.

Our Weiser Fuhrer Volkskanzler Horst Grasser reaffirmed it as the steadfast political line to build a powerful National-Syndicalist nation with a grip on the revolutionary line of independence and strategy of self-reliance. Eight months have passed since the day the women and men of Ostmark initiated the national revolution, thus breaking the chains of consumerism and capitalist exploitation. Great changes have taken place in the domestic situation during this period. The National-Syndicalist People's Party has since then waged a fight against financial and industrial lobbies, and strengthened and developed the National-Syndicalist system established in our country in every possible way.

We should correctly lead all the members of our society, citizens, workers, intellectuals, realize the great cause of Ostmarkischer National-Syndikalismus and the achievement of the true independence and sovereignty of our Volksrepublik, and victoriously advance the building of National-Syndicalism in the name of the further strengthening of the revolutionary base in our nation. VOLKSKANZLER GRASSER ANNOUNCES "REBIRTH DECREE"
The new law will boost national birth rates and improve child care welfare.

WIEN (Ostmark) - In a press conference at the Palace of the People's Republic, Wise Leader People's Chancellor Horst Grasser announced the approval of a new decree to boost the national birth rates as a way to further improve the quality of life of the children, their mothers and all the working citizens of the People's Republic of Ostmark.

Explaining the content of the newly approved law, Volkskanzler Grasser promised working mothers and fathers that there will be free nursery spots for every one of their children, starting just weeks after birth. Parents will receive 1.500.000 OstMarks per child upon birth, and children will get free breakfast and lunches in nurseries which will have longer hours (beginning at 6:30 a.m.). Moreover, the National-Syndicalist People's Party will equally distribute Christmas presents to all children under the age of 9.

Lactating women in the People's Republic of Ostmark will for the first time be able to donate milk for mothers who can't produce it themselves due to babies born prematurely or if the mothers are ill "There will be mother’s milk stations in every municipality, which would pick up pumped milk and pay families for it," said Volkskanzler Grasser.

WIEN (Ostmark) - People's Chancellor Horst Grasser replied with irony at the criticism expressed by justosian Prince Julian-Francois Francisco II who, in a recent interview, defined Ostmark a "radical socialist dictatorship". Interviewed by Die Volksrepublik, the Wise Leader provided further insight on the complicated relationship between the People's Republic of Ostmark and the Great Southern Kingdom of Justosia

"We are disturbed by the stalking perpetrated by the Great-Southern Kingdom of Justosia against the People's Republic of Ostmark. We've changed e-mail addresses, expelled their ambassador, and even pretended to not being able to read their diplomatic dispatches by mimicking email delivery software errors. But for some reason, the 'great southern kingdom' keeps knocking on our door or talking about us. In reality, most of our citizens have yet to figure out where Justosia stands on geographical maps." said a frustrated People's Chancellor.

"In fact, the Great Southern Kingdom of Justosia has nationalized its entire economy to build a fleet of aicraft carriers, only to re-privatise its entire economic apparatus only a few weeks later - something that I, despite being strong supporter of planned economy and nationalization of all institutions and major industrial enterprises, have never done. And they fought a civil war in the process too." he continued "We are willing to re-open a diplomatic channel with the Great Southern Kingdom of Justosia but at one condition: the Great Southern Kingdom of Justosia must abolish the monarchy, dethrone the royal family, and adopt a National-Syndicalist economy and political system. Only when the Black and Red banner of National-Syndicalism will flutter over the skies of Avalon, i will gladly welcome Prince Julian-Francois Francisco II here in Wien, where i will be glad to lecture him on how to efficiently implement National-Syndicalist economic and social theory. People of Justosia, the days of sorrow are over." concluded People's Chancellor Horst Grasser.

WIEN (Ostmark) - The People's Republic of Ostmark with confidence in victory of the cause of building a powerful National-Syndicalist Nation will vigorously advance upholding the banner of sovereignty and independence along the road indicated by Wise Leader Horst Grasser, irrespective of others' way and surrounding circumstances.

Our people turned out as one, regarding the leadership of our Party, the National-Syndicalist People's Party, which upheld the banner of building of a National-Syndicalist self-supporting economy believing in the strength of the people, as the eternal truth. The revolutionary fighting spirit of our people is the main key to the victory and glorious course of the Volksrepublik Ostmark.

Sovereignty, economic self-reliance and political independence serves as our invariable working method even now. It is impossible to talk about the People's Republic of Ostmark today and its future without it. That is why we vehemently advance along our own way upholding the banner of self-reliance no matter how the situation may change and no matter what others may say.

Nobody and nothing can dampen the strong spirit of our people who bring about a happy future by our own efforts. We can surely say that the People's Republic of Ostmark will win victory after victory and realize our bright dream and ideal without failing by dint of self-reliance and sovereignty. The international community will clearly see how the Volksrepublik Ostmark will become a powerful National-Syndicalist nation by its own efforts in the future.
