The exercises featured a crisis scenario in which ship movements out of Gothic Sea is blockaded. While this sort of crisis is unlikely, the Royal Navy was not clear on the exact ramification of their exercise. Her Majesty's Government has maintained that it will continue to maintain a policy in which freedom of trade may not be disrupted. This is counter to the former policies from the 16th century, when Götarige would pursue a toll of the southern exit of the Gothic Sea. A policy which ended disastrously in various wars throughout the 19th century. Subsequently prompting this policy in which any blockade is to be broken, a policy that has had to be threatened to foreign nations who sought to block trade to other nations in the far north. All countries neighboring the Gothic Sea were notified of the exercise in order to avoid collision or mistaken aggression. Götarige has seen solo military operations as important in recent years to maintain a mutual understanding of Götariges naval status in the region. Chancellor Lindahl could not be reached for comment personally, but her staff suggested that this drills were important to maintain Götariges wartime readiness. Such readiness has been argued as important, as Götarige maintains a status of non-alignment for the time being. Non-alignment without preparation is a policy to weakness and foreign invasion have said "Cap" Governments over the last 18 years. The "Hat" opposition had no comment on the exercises, only suggesting that so long as international maritime rules were followed the opposition had no problem with the exercises. More than 40 islands both big and small, as well as the major Province of Scania which borders Gränsmarkerna. Debate on whether to improve current ferries to be able to allow for trains which can then use the ferry to move from both sets of tracks have been questioned, which would perhaps be the easiest manner in which passengers could move back and forth between the far north and south if necessary. Yet, several in the Riksdag have openly wondered if it was possible to come to an agreement with neighboring Gränsmarkerna to use their rails in which a non-stop passenger train may be able to move around the water. Queen Lotta, has felt that for far too long the cold snowy region of the far northwest has been ignored. In effort to foster goodwill and understanding across Europe, she has felt that she needs to expand knowledge and understanding of the Kingdom. The Tour has been sponsored by Her Majesty's Government, and shall commence via the Royal Aeroplane. Such a tour could prove to a good means to advertise Östgötarikes aeroplane industry as well. Chancellor Lindahl has spoken highly of the newest aeroplanes produced for both the military and civil usage, yet no effort to find buyers has been made yet. Business and industry aside, the Queen feels that understanding the cultures of other countries is important, and if they can understand us, the world may prove to a safer and friendlier place. Queen Lotta issued a statement on the planned journey, "Our nation is known for maintaining the peace and security that is synonymous with the Gothic Sea region; albeit, not the conditions of the Gothic Sea itself. This sea has forged us, the conditions of the North tempered us. We're a proud people, and I, as Queen of the North shall work tirelessly to maintain such peace. I wish a warm welcome to world, because I wish to see what our people can learn from the rest of Europe. So I will travel on our behalf to exchange culture and goodwill." Her speech ran roughly ten minutes, and covered some domestic issues as well. The Queen is understood to still be struggling from the death of her father. Her mother is thought to be the engineer of this trip to get the young, and often quiet and elusive Queen out of the palace and into the world. Her schedule is unknown yet, as she has suggested she only wishes to travel to nations which will have her visit willingly.
