The conclusion of the preliminary round came to an end today with Round 12's matches. Congratulations to Touzen, The Fennian Union, Suionia, Jurchen Republic, Ivernia, Franken, Valkany, and Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach for qualifying for the quarterfinal round. A formal dinner will be held for all participating teams on the 22nd of Saturday of this month to express thanks to all teams that participated. As for the teams that will be going home after the dinner, thank you to the football associations and the nations for allowing your players to participate in this historical event.

OOC: I want to thank everyone for helping to make this league possible, because without you guys there would have never been a league in the first place. Plus, this league finally helped me find the right forum outside of NS where people actually engage and do stuff. And it gave me something to do besides homework. :)

Congratulations to Ivernia and Suionia for winning their respective semifinal matches today. Clearly these two teams deserve the top spot in the EFL and have proved that they are the best. Next Sunday, these two teams will face off in the final match of the first ever EFL. The winner of that match will be crowned the champion of this year's EFL, and in addition may wear a gold star above their team's crest to show that they are the champion.

As for the two teams that lost today, Touzen and Ionia, we would also like to congratulate these two for making it to the top four. Although these two teams will not be competing in the final match, they will have a chance to clinch a bronze medal this Thursday.

Good luck to all teams in their respective matches, and we will see everyone on Thursday for the consolation match, Touzen v Ionia, and then on Sunday with live coverage from Golarsen-Penshko for the final matchup between Ivernia and Suionia.

The consolation match between Touzen and Ionia was not one battled for the final trophy, but nonetheless was very emotional. Touzen and Ionia both scored in the first half, bringing the score to 1-1. The match remained in a gridlock until Touzen scored in the 87th minute, thus giving us our bronze medal winners.

Thanks to these and all teams for participating, and please join us this Monday for the final matchup between Ivernia and Suionia to determine who wins the first ever EFL.

The EFL is officially over! And the winner of the first ever EFL is.......

Suionia!

We would like to congratulate Suionia's National Football Team, their confederation, and the entire country of Suionia for winning this international cup. A golden star may be worn above your team's crest to show that you are the current world champions. In addition to winning, the Suionian team will receive a free trip to Costa de Diamante Resort on the tropical island of Pora, which was voted Central Centralia's number one five-star resort and hotel in the nation.

We would also like to recognize the Ivernian team for making it to the finals. Although the Ivernian team did not win the gold trophy, they received silver medals as well as a $7,500 reward for making it this far. Both teams showed absolutely impressive football and teamwork and both deserved to win.

Central Centralian President Calovva Telnizki will officially close the EFL Winter 2013-2014 tonight, where the host for the next EFL will be discussed and maybe selected.
