Siveri Massanas becomes new Prime Minister as Ebrians pressure for change
- His Majesty formally recognises Senyor Massanas as Prime Minister
- The National Action Party promises a more pro-active approach
- The Pannonian Crisis brought an end to the Úmar Llufriu government
With the ceremony at the Palau de Corts done and the parliament voting for the new Massanas cabinet, his majesty, King Arnau V has also formally recognised Siveri Massanas as the new Prime Minister of the Crown of Ebria, taking the lead from Úmar Llufriu. The Partit d’Acció Nacional (National Action Party) continues to lead the Corts and the government as it did before, but after the recent protests, especially against the the political inaction in the Pannonian Crisis, Úmar Llufriu decided to step down and give way to the vice-chairman of the Party, Siveri Massanas.
The Pannonian Crisis has seen many Ebrians turn from their classical neutral approach towards a more pro-active one, especially in the aid of the Zarans, whom have been one of the main actors of the conflict between Csengia, aided by Tarusa and Serbovia and the separatists. While the Franks from Bourdignie have been largely ignored by the irredentist aspirations of Csengia, the same can't be said about the Zarans whom have been the main target of many military actions. That, together with the generalised quietness coming from the international community and the inneficiency of the European Forum, has made many Ebrians rise in protests, especially after many years of support of Pan-Tiburanism.
While many Ebrians wouldn't go as far as proposing to go to war with Tarusa or Csengia for Eugenia, many have protested against what they saw as a governmental abandoning of the Zarans and Eugenians, Ebria sending no supplies and not receiving any refugees as of yet from the Pannonian conflict. Led by an NGO called the Pan-Tiburan Union, protests have started weeks ago, with the biggest taking place 10 days ago, when about 700,000 people demonstrated in the capital city of Valls, with a total of 3 million in the whole crownlands.
After this mammoth demonstration, Prime Minister Llufriu has resigned from his position as prime minister, which also forced him to concede the position of chairman of the National Action Party, which was then surrendered to his 2nd in command, Siveri Massanas. In those 10 days, Massanas has held a speech in from of the joint three chambers of the Corts, where he invited the press, and broadcast to the entire nation that the era of isolation is set to be over, and that he will promote Pan-Tiburanism and will will more Ebria towards providing aid in solidarity with the Tiburan peoples and the victims of imperialism world wide. The commendation he received from the Pan-Tiburan Union NGO has brought an end to the protests and demonstrations, gradually in the past week.
While the bureaucratic doings in setting up the government had to be done, Massanas moved quickly and appointed the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senyora Ada Valen i Codony to lead the Ebrian delegation to the Forum of Democratic nations in the Remis city of Fonda and is already setting up a decree to send aid to the Republic of Eugenia and the Confederation of Bourdignie, while also setting up another to open up the country to refugees from the Pannonian countries.
