| Pirates attack in the Long Sea! | |||
| In a press conference held by spokesmen for the Royal Armada, confirmation of an attack on an Aurarine vessel in the Long Sea was given. The incident occurred in the darkness of night at a time when most of the ship’s crew would have been sleeping. There were no Royal Armada vessels in the area, which is why the media relations team was slow to release info on the incident. Over the last decade or so, the Royal Armada has really pulled back its patrolling of the Long Sea. Operations and the future of the Armada as well as other branches of the Armed Forces had been pushed aside by many members of the National Summit, many of whom are investing more time and energy into the modernization of Aurarine infrastructure and the rejuvenated welfare programs set forth by His Royal Majesty, High King Roberto II. The dangers of the Implarian Ocean, which are caused by a variety of factors, are seemingly pouring into the Long Sea. At least this was the fear of many of those in command of the Royal Armada. Despite the increasing presence of navies in the Implarian Ocean, the piracy continues. Recommendations for an increased presence in the Long Sea fell on deaf ears, but perhaps that is all set to change. |
An Aurarine Vessel was attacked and sunk in the Long Sea. An attack of this caliber should be more than enough to alarm anyone in Government, especially the High King who is tasked with the defense of the realm. The Royal Armada confirmed that there are plans being drawn up, which will be presented to the National Summit, which will suggest how the nation responds to a new threat in the Long Sea. Further details on the incident are being kept secret on account of national security. High King Roberto II to abdicate the throne of Culebria It was announced today that High King Roberto II, who also serves as the King of Culebria, will officially be abdicating his throne to his eldest son, Francisco IV. As part of the Vicarian tradition, the throne of a lesser Kingdom (until 1944, it was Andaluz) was held by the Crown-Prince of Auraria. Upon his ascension to the throne, High King Roberto II did not abdicate the throne, as Francisco IV was only thirteen years old at the time. | “I believe Prince Francisco IV is more than capable and mature enough to be given the responsibilities of his birthright, the throne of Culebria. Francisco has spent a great deal of time observing political procedure and the intricacies of government. The future High King of Auraria shall now sit on the throne,” said His Royal Majesty, Roberto II. The Royal Family had just returned from the Empire of Tiburtina, where Princess Débora, the eldest daughter of Roberto II, has been married to Prince Giuseppe. The affair was attended by Prince Francisco IV. When asked about the ceremony and celebrations, the Crown-Prince said “In truth, the event was far more memorable than I had imagined it would be. I am so very happy for my sister.” The coronation of Crown-Prince Francisco IV will take place on July 1, one day after the 10 year anniversary of the rise of House Calderón to the High Throne. |
