Our President has put rumours to bed that he is in ill health by attending the graduation ceremony of the San Miguel military academy. Alongside the President several key members of the administration were also in attendance. recently false rumours have unbounded regarded the Caudillo's lack of public appearances in recent weeks suggesting that our beloved leader was on his death bed.

Political violence in Las Colinas

violent riots have erupted in the state of Las Colinas as Unión Nacional Integralista and Partido Campesinos y Obreros supporters clashed following the two parties holding rallies in the state. At least fourteen are confirmed dead in the ensuing gunfight. Both sides have blamed the other for starting the violence however at this stage the facts remain unclear.

Raoul Calles has spoken out publicly condemning violence in the Mazidian border state of Soledad however Calles also stated " That the Mazidian authorities immediate assumption that the perpetrators where from the Free State is nothing short of slander, however let it be clear that we have zero tolerance for such criminals and if they have indeed fled into our territory they will be swiftly apprehended".

Guardia Armory robbed!

a Guardia Regional armory in the state of Hogar de Jaguares has been robbed last night with the thieves making off with twenty five assault rifles and several hundred rounds of ammunition. While local authorities have not yet apprehended the culprits police chief Jorge stated that they are following several promising leads.

In a first for the Vaquero Free State one of its native sons has been elevated to the rank of Papal Legate to act as the holy father's representative in Occidentia. Arch-Bishop Juan Carlo Barbastro has been a stalwart member of the church and a pillar and longtime supporter of the Unión Nacional Integralista. The Caudillo also took the opportunity to welcome Álvaro Gutierre the head of the Tapenagá Republic's provisional government.

" I am honoured to welcome my friend and fellow leader Álvaro Gutierre and indeed all of the people of Tapenagá Republic to the world stage, they have thrown off the corrupt yoke of the Sun King and joined the international community of civilized nations and I vow that from now till the end of time the people of Tapenagá and its government shall be joined in brotherhood and friendship with the Vaquero Free State".

The Caudillo took the time to personally thank the Armed Forces for their service and sacrifice.

" Without the noble sacrifice of our brave soldiers all of this would have come to nought, we must never forget those martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice of the Free State and its people and it is through their blood and toil that the nation has been made whole, we all owe a huge debt to the dead".

Agriculture sector devastated by winter storms as Cyclone Logan moves south.

Having wrecked havoc upon our neighbouring country of Beautancus the overland cyclone has made its way south towards the state of Las Colinas de plata causing millions of Sols of damage and forcing thousands to evacuate. The Cyclone is believed to caused the destruction of millions of acres of farmland. Minister of Agriculture Jose Maduro has that affected farmers will receive significant government subsidies and promised to make " substantial reforms to the sector". There have been concerns voiced by some that Cyclone Logan could cause massive damage to the economy of the Free State however statements from the Unión Nacional Integralista declare that such concerns are simply fear-mongering and should be ignored for the good of the nations morale.

It has been often said among my people that "...it is through shared suffering and tribulation that the greatest friendship and understanding is born." In these times of such moral extremity and natural calamity, as with the passing of the recent overland cyclone over both our nations, the aforementioned wisdom could not but ring through my mind as I contemplated how best to meet our shared misery and sorrow. Misery and sorrow from and through which the bonds of friendship and unity of experience shared between the Free State and the Confederated Republic shall only be strengthened.

As it is that present circumstances conspire to find us either as sorely pressed as is the case in Las Colinas, or just slightly moving on from immediate reaction, I cannot with great confidence speak to the degree that the Confederated Republic can offer assistance, but rest assured that we shall in every way possible. Responsible Offices and their personnel will no doubt soon be following up this communique with further details on coordination.

Tribal Bandits ambush Vaquero Soldiers

Five Vaquero soldiers have been cruelly ambushed while on patrol in the Tapenagá Republic, a group calling itself the Macuahuitl Society has claimed responsibility in a press release demanding that the Free State withdraw from the Republic. However Major General Javier Gonzalez-Lopez has declared " we are here to assist the government of Tapenagá with the protection of their people and we will remain for as long as we are needed". Gonzalez-Lopez has also declared that he " would not rest until this Macuahuitl Society is wiped out".

Minister of Agriculture Jose Maduro has announced that a new state run corporation will take over the agricultural sector in the state of Las Colinas de Plata following the cyclone that devastated the region " The Comité Regional Agrícola will ensure that the State's agricultural sector is run efficiently and responsibly".

Minister for Economic Development unveils new plan for the Costa Angeles State

Roberto Obregon, Minister for Economic Development has announced that the State of Costa Angeles will be turned into " Special Economic area" and as such it will become subject to different laws to the mainland states. Minister Obregon has stated that a relaxation of certain laws in the State will help to stimulate the economy and promote tourism, not just for the state of Costa Angeles but for the entire nation.

The new laws will allow for the reopening of the States casinos and nightclubs albeit under close government scrutiny" to prevent the moral degradation of the nation".
