Had circumstances aligned with a preference for the permitting of a timely organization of the diplomatic consideration then, this information could have been conveyed through a much earlier correspondence. Fortune would not, as history determines to have us learn with a regularity, provide opportunity of occasion more agreeable than now.

It is from the Engello-Cussian Standard, a truly extraordinary and proper understanding of two commonly progressed civilizations, that it was decided a correct and moral obligation, on behalf of the Engellexian Republic, to dutifully share this information before the whole of Europe is permitted a chance to disseminate it.

Lord Protector Walter Drake, the Viscount Drake, is dead.

The late Lord Protector demonstrated remarkable endurance of the escalating symptoms of illness, until his constitution could longer tolerate illness itself. He passed away 30.12.18, in the very early hours it is determined, at his apartments in Admiralty Palace, Hammersmith.

It is my sincere hope that this information, before being delivered publicly, may be necessarily useful for the Confederated Republic of Beautancus. It is not the policy of the Engellexian Republic to leave our friends and allies without adequate means for preparation.

I will make instruction upon the Secretary of the Republic for the Southern Department of the Joint Committee in respect of further information when it becomes available.

The Confederate Republic shall not fail to mark the passing of this, a truly great man, a paragon of the Engellexian Civilization in a manner suited to both his character and station. Though perhaps more tepid now than it has been in times not particularly recently past, the waxing and waning of the "court," be that as it is, in Welmonton often demand similar considerations to be accounted for, and oft and otherwise distasteful provisions to be made in the accounting. In this regard, as ever, I understand - and so too therefore this Office.

An appropriate period of national mourning shall be declared upon further confirmation of acceptable timing, with all propriety and observation of our most primordial, sanguinary kin-rites; flags, national standards and public badges shall be worn at their standard of mourning for the passing of an honored and most senior leader.

Let it not be in doubt that this has, and will be of considerable use to the Office of this Administration of the Government of the Confederated Republic of Beautancus, with our gratitude and acknowledged intention to reciprocate in degree and spirit unto the ending of time itself, as demanded by the gravity of our shared origin and common future.
