Not the severest retraction of warmth, nor a decline in any understanding, shall ever be enough to become an obstruction upon the moral obligation of the Engellexian Republic toward the West Engell Republic.

Here, I am respectful, as I am deliberate in addressing difficult matters of the Engellexic State to you, the West Engell Republic, much before it should be decided required to inform the whole of Europe.

Lord Protector Walter Drake, the Viscount Drake, is dead.

The late Lord Protector demonstrated remarkable endurance of the escalating symptoms of illness, until his constitution could longer tolerate illness itself. He passed away 30.12.18, in the very early hours it is determined, at his apartments in Admiralty Palace, Hammersmith.

It is my sincere hope that this information, before being delivered publicly, may be necessarily useful for the West Engell Republic. It is not the policy of the Engellexian Republic to leave our friends and allies without adequate means for preparation.

This Office and by extension Republic intends to fully honor the trust endowed by our partners within the Southern Constituent Republics by keeping this advanced notice in confidence, and striving to make it a policy to reciprocate delicate information that could be served better with prior notice to the South.

I shall not seek to publicly comment on the passing of the late Lord Protector, other than that the West Engells shall continue our endeavor of rapprochement with the wider Engellsphere with a special emphasis on the establishment of lasting partnerships in the South that never materialized under past Commissioner’s focus on the North.

As previously touched on during a summit in the Confederated Republic of Beautancus, the First Republic is very much aware of the outstanding fact that the relations of it and the West Engell Republic continue to still be generally and admittedly of an order falling quite short of a suitable and dignified standard; that the First Republic is fully committed to consider new provisions, where necessary, of suitable accommodation for diplomatic needs.

There exists no intention on the part of the Council of the Republic in detaining our relations unduly further, for there exists no other conclusion than the persisting situation disproportionately undermining our shared interests and playing distraction to the importance of our shared historical, present and future interests.

The events that conspired to produce such a calamitous rupture of our relations does, with some comfort it must be said, now exist only as historical fact with ever limited influence, lasting opinion. It has been a deliberate policy of both to acknowledge those small differences and accept the greater similarities, to proceed with a keen pace to a return of some normalcy. For what occurred was most assuredly abnormal. The restoration of recognition remains the final act, and the First Republic declares it's eagerness in facilitating that restoration, fully, and without formal or informal reservation.

The proper manner in which our relations should be officially adjusted to the highest improvement are, obviously, not in dispute, and the Engellexian Republic Parlement and the Council of the Republic will address that circumstance shortly together.

It would be an appropriate opportunity, when the Council of the Republic sits in Hammersmith to address our mutual issues, that Dictator Karl Heydendahl undertakes a working visit by invitation of, and extended on behalf, the President of the Southern Constituent Republics of the Engellexian Republic.

A working visit, it is felt, would achieve a mutual appreciation of re-establishing a comfortable and permanent understanding of what we need to accomplish, post-restoration, in respect of Engellachia acquiring a suitably proper and capable presence within the newer capital of Hammersmith; for the First Republic to explore considerations and practicalities of an expanded presence in Vesper.

Every day and hour we are working towards concrete solutions for pressing monetary, military, cultural and historical barriers that separate the West Engell Republic from Engellkind as a whole. A working meeting between Karl Heydendahl and fellow Engellachian servants of Thaumantic Dominion is not just necessary, but energetically anticipated by a young team of West Engells excited to work with partners in the North, South, and onward to the cosmos!
