What do we do?

We pursue our national interests and project Guienny as a force for good in the world. We promote the interests of Guiennais citizens, safeguard the Kingdom's security, defend our values, and tackle global challenges with our international partners. We engage the world diplomatically and professionally.

Responsibilities
Our ambition for the Foreign Office is to maximise our global impact in the service of Guienny's interests and values – working together with our partners and allies, both potential and actual, as a force for good in the world. Delivering change that makes a difference in the real world will be at the centre of what we do, using evidence to ensure we are adopting best practices. We will be ready to respond to crises, particularly those affecting the safety or welfare of Guiennais nationals overseas and large-scale humanitarian disasters. Our efforts will make Guienny safer and more resilient to global threats.

Who we are
The Foreign Office was established by the 1812 Foreign Intelligence and Relations Act, designed to improve Guienny's ability to conduct affairs abroad. We employ around 10,000 staff in our diplomatic offices worldwide, including in the European Forum and overseas embassies and high commissions. Our Guienny-based staff work at the King Henry IV Street Office, at Maison Abercrombie in Le Vieux-Bourg. We also have other offices, notably in Fortaleza Real, Alberche, and staff based in Orléans-sur-Mer, and Vivesaigues our largest port cities.

Bonjour, hello! My name is Amélia Dubois and I am the Foreign Secretary for the Kingdom of Guyenny. Thank you for your interest in the Foreign Office. It is here that Guyenny embarks on its journey abroad! Our efforts to engage with foreign cultures, societies, and of course nations on the most peaceful and diplomatic terms is what sets our business apart from the other Offices and Ministries in Guyenny. It is an honour and a privilege to hold this post, one of the four most prestigious positions in our country. As a young girl I never dreamed of ascending to these heights within our Government, and it speaks to the character of our Kingdom where a girl can dream to reach for the stars and actually find herself among them.

For me, for my family, Guyenny represents something special on the international stage. We are a democracy, but not just that, we are a force for good. For humanity reaching its greater potential. It is my belief that the Foreign Office can reach greater heights for continuing this mission statement, for our own citizens and others who live in far more oppressive situations abroad.

Where there is tyranny, there are marginalized situations for women, and as the first female Foreign Secretary in the history of our Kingdom, I plan to find ways to help women and children and stress that these often overlooked people are not forgotten when considering our global responsibilities. It is my hope that Guyenny can stand for something greater than it ever has before, and together we can lead Europe towards a more prosperous future, both economically and culturally, but also in terms of equity and liberty.

It is my sincere hope that the Foreign Office can find a way to help you achieve what you are looking for when engaging Guyenny. Whether you are a business leader, a university student, or a young child, both at home and abroad... Guyenny has something to offer you.

Amitiés,

Diplomatic Notes
Countries with diplomatic or civil restrictions:
  • Republic of Pannonia (March 15, 2021): Travel Caution - An enduring civil conflict risks the threat of petty crime, violence, collateral harm, death, or extreme hostile scenarios in which citizens and permanent residents of Guienny are advised to avoid this region. — As of September 13, 2021 the Republic of Pannonia is recognised as the Kingdom of Csengia and all obligations and contracts shall henceforth be issued to this entity.
  • Bourdignian Confederation (September 13, 2021): All restrictions lifted - The Pannonian conflict is acknowledged as resolved, and Bourdignie is recognized by the Kingdom of Guyenny. All diplomatic matters are to be handled by the Guyennese Embassy in Versoix.
  • Eugenian Republic (September 13, 2021): Travel Caution - Enduring political strife and difficulties leave Eugenia as a location that is seen as dangerous to both travelers and business for the time being. The military coup and proclaimed Socialist Republic are not recognised entities and documentation and passports issued by such entity will be seen as illegal and void.

DIPLOMATIC COMMUNIQUÉ
on behalf of His Majesty's Government
au nom du Gouvernement de Sa Majesté

On the Pannonian Dissolution and Related Crises in Central Germania
Published By

The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs
Le secrétaire d'État aux Affaires étrangères

Kingdom of Guienny / Royaume de Guienny

The Rt Hon Amélia Dubois MP
FOR MEDIA DISTRIBUTION and THE GENERAL PUBLIC BOTH FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC,

The Kingdom of Guienny has maintained observation over the Central Germanian region over the course of this last calendar year, bearing witness to the failures of the State in what was known as Pannonia internationally, or Bajororzság in the local language. This nation and its people have served throughout European history has an important partner both economically and militarily, not only to Guyenny but also to its neighbors where it was a key battleground in a collection of conflicts, famously the Alexandrian Wars of the 19th century. A well cultured people, Pannonians have contributed greatly to the improvement of the collective civilisation of Europe.

It should go without question that the loss and division of this nation state is a calamity for the peoples of Europe which have depended upon this multicultural union as a symbol for the possibilities of democracy. It is important to remind the world that this failure of a democracy is not an inditement upon this system of governance, but a failure upon the collective leadership and institutions of Pannonia. Suggestions otherwise do a disservice to the collective narrative of European civilisation, the diplomatic and academic discourse, and as well as the international spirit of collaboration that Guyenny fosters globally.

While Guyenny acknowledges foreign interference into post-conflict structure of which the new Pannonian states exist, Guyenny also does not acknowledge them all equally all things considered. In fact, the foreign interference in this region has proven to hasten instability as well as prolong and deepen the conflict at hand. In this sense, the Kingdom of Guyenny would like to specifically condemn several actions that have been considered particularly difficult for the Foreign Office to accept as wholly acceptable in due course with international law as Guyenny understands it.

  • The Foreign Office condemns the unilateral implementation of a no-fly-zone over the region of the southwest and southeast regions of Pannonia collectively known as the Zaras and their at the time unrecognized government of the Republic of Eugenia, often times referred to as the Eugenian Republic;
  • finds the military threats and interventions made by all parties involved as unacceptable;
  • determines that the military actions composed in different stages as holding different degrees of legality as determined by our membership in European Forum;
  • does not condone all military actions taken by the Empire of Tarusa, however; in finding with the obligations of their diplomatic and military alliance with the Pannonian State and their subsequent entities does not believe all military actions were justified;
  • will not condemn nor support the Remion attack on Sankt Veit, but does believe that the actions were made in haste without the entire support of the international community directly, but acknowledges the tacit support of the European Forum mandate.
With these points in mind, it is important to state that the Kingdom of Guyenny recognises and acknowledges the Kingdom of Csengia as the legal successor state to the Pannonian State that came before it. There is clear distinction between the means and obligations of the variety of successor states, and what holds clear is that the Csengan state, and thereby Kingdom, has held the diplomatic and contractual agreements of Pannonia throughout the conflict in its maintenance of obligations and commitments held prior, be it alliance with the Empire of Tarusa or European Forum membership.

This does not preclude the right of the Kingdom of Guyenny from recognising the new entities that have thus spawned from the former Pannonian nation for a variety of reason on their own.

First most, the recognition of the Confederation of Bourdignie or Bourdignian Confederation of which the Kingdom of Csengia has recognized in its diplomatic affairs.

Secondly, the Kingdom of Pojazerná as a legal entity that is in union with the Crown of Csengia.

Thirdly, the recognition of the Grand Duchy of Bécs with its acceptance of a royal family member from the Kingdom of Eiffelland as its Head of State that has thus far gone unchallenged.

Fourthly, that any entity that is declared from the Thalgäuer Referendum in October hold due diligence as a marker for its status that is yet to be determined.

Lastly, that the Republic of Eugenia or Eugenian Republic and thereby the legislature as the Congress of Gonzaga hold recognition as the primary stakeholder in an independent Eugenia or Zara nation state. This last point holding great importance to the Foreign Office. The most recent events surrounding the military coup in which a Socialist Republic has been proclaimed is unlawful, and an unnatural political maneuver in which power has been taken by armed force and by populist mob. The Kingdom of Guyenny will not recognise elections or henceforth further actions in Eugenia until the legitimate government is reinstated. The advocation of government by mob or military coup is not an acceptable government and will not be recognised by His Majesty's Government.

It is the sincere hope of this Office and the from the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs that the Guiennais position is clear on the Pannonian Crisis, and that if there are any question they may be referred to the Foreign Office as seen necessary by the public and the international community.

With warm regards,
