The Freedom Foundation Freedom Index (FFFI) is a constantly recalculated overview over the state of liberty in Europe. Based on regular analysis of sources both public and not public, both official and unofficial, the Freedom Foundation assesses the progress of European societies towards Liberty. The ideal against which all nations are judged is postulated by the Freedom Foundation in the following way:

The Foundation seeks to support those that subscribe to the cause of liberty and seek to bring about the Free Society as defined by the Charter Oath Movement in 1882:

1. The Free Society is composed of free, equal individuals that govern themselves
2. The Free Society affirms the right of the individual and rejects all forms of collective autocracy
3. Since the Free Society governs itself, the state abstains from coercive measures to impose its will, since society cannot impose itself upon itself
4. The society has taken up the Free Man's Burden: to advance the cause of liberty till it has prevailed across the globe

To this end, each nation is assessed according to the political and economic freedoms its citizens enjoy. Political freedoms determine how much control citizens have about their respective societies and are measured against the ideal of universal public participation in all political processes at any given time. Economic freedoms determine whether citizens are free to pursue their own economic endeavors individually and collectively. Social freedoms, for example the absence of homophobia, are not measured since these freedoms are not within the sphere of the state and institutionalized discrimination is represented in the political freedoms index.

Red societies are not free and do not offer any political and economic freedoms.
Orange societies are partially free, and offer some political and economic freedoms.
Green societies are free delegationist societies and offer a wide range of political and economic freedoms.
Blue societies are post-delegationist transit societies. Differing in their progress towards the abolishment of delegationism, they have nevertheless set on a course to do so.

(OOC: Some countries are deliberately not added since I don't dare making any judgment at all. In the future I will provide a template with questions I will use to assess people and rank them up or down accordingly in regular intervals. For now, PM me if you absolutely disagree with, say, being red. Next update will also feature an alphabetic listing.)

While looking upon this initiative with interest we feel that the rating given to Europaland is inaccurate and a result of bias on behalf of the organisation. Our citizens enjoy among the greatest levels of political rights anywhere in Europe and these go well beyond those existing in most liberal representative democracies. The low score for economic rights is also unwarranted. In Europaland not a single company is in state hands and individuals are completely free to set up their own businesses to run individually or with others as part of a democratic workers' cooperative.

We thank Mrs. Nasri for her input concerning Europaland's rating. In the opinion of the Foundation, Europaland still exhibits significant deficiencies in its development towards a society free from coercive mechanisms. To name but a few issues, political party still operate in and dominate the political landscape of Europaland. Furthermore, Europaland's model of democratic participation is rooted in periodical elections and not a model of permanent accountability and citizen's choice, in short, it is rooted in parliamentarism.

In regards to the economy, the foundation acknowledges progressive efforts to free the market from both state and monopolist control, and the freedom to pursue enterprises both individually as well as cooperatively is crucial to the control of an economy by its constituent citizens. However, social engineering programs in place in Europaland that force business policies on industrious citizens (affirmative action, quotas, etc.) hinder the advancement of true liberty, as do tax schemes that penalize profits instead of being based on persistent factors (e.g. land and facility usage fees).

The Freedom Foundation remains committed to a dialog with Europaland and is looking forward to future input and reports from the country.

The Freedom Foundation has revealed itself to be part of a greater plot by Touzen to discredit the People's Republic of Vangala and undermine its international standing. The Vangalan people are represented at a local and national level by a variety of political organisations, ranging from the Communist Party to the Democratic Federation of Trade Unions and the Revolutionary Association of Vangalan Women, with representatives chosen through free and fair elections. The Vangalan economy is also modelled to prevent exploitation while including both native and foreign private businesses, who work in partnership with collectives and co-operatives and state enterprises to ensure future prosperity.

We welcome the attempt by the Touzen Republic's Freedom Foundation to provide a comprehensive overview of a nation-state's commitment to personal, economic and civil liberties and rights. However, we find the dialectic materialist and post-delegationist bias clouds truly objective conclusions drawn on this information, and so we must regretfully also implore the Foundation to consider a broader perspective in its reviews. We suggest perhaps classifying a state based not primarily on its closeness to a theoretical Post-delegationist perfection, but rather merely on how many freedoms and rights a citizen is granted, irrespective of the state apparatus or ruling ideology in place.
