Let's have a discussion about Gallia-Germania and the lack of available map spots.

I'm using this map piece from like 2013 or 2014 as a guide to what I have in mind :-

Reduce Bourgogne to what is Cantignia, on the above map; Geotri to Lisse; and establish three to four new map spots.

There is also a number of nations occupying space that once would have allowed double the number of nations, so I am proposing to revert back to those spots should players become inactive, nations greened.

Thoughts before I do this?

Let it be as Engellex says, I agree. I might have a few ideas that could only be pursued in the region, for a 2nd nation of 50/50 likelihood to exist or not. Provisionally, an "evil Burgundy," likely very religious (either Calvinist or Catholic), with a primarily Frisian character and some kind of "Celtic" (because I want to name something Coedwyn and Magdeira, basically) and Francophone minorities. Maybe named Vreemde(land), Weyland or Wellund. Something to do with strangers/foreigners/weirdos.

I hate to detract from Beautancus at this point, being the only problem, as I have plenty of ideas to chase through with it and more inspiration than I know what to do with in the 1st place. So, yeah.

That said, I'd maybe use this or some derivative/variation for the flag:

I am not an active roleplayer in that sense, so in terms of gameplay I consider my input to be rather irrelevant actually...
If there is a certain demand for new plots I certainly agree, but if not I am happy with the status quo. Having a few larger nations, in terms of population, power and size, in our European continent does feel more authentic to me.

Here's a crazy idea: let new players take control of regions within the larger nations

What i think Engellex was trying to say is that such large nations must engage in active roleplay to keep their status as "large nations", with the exceptions of those players who are too busy at the moment and posted in the proper inactivity thread.

I have no complaints but of course I am a very large ice-sheet nation. A large portion of my nation is above the 75th parallel (which is basically arctic) and a lot above the 60 parallel (sub-arctic).

I’m obvi in support of a shrinkening and adding new mapspots, but I wanted to ask. Judging by the posted map, is one of the new mapspots getting carved out of my current one? How exactly are the new spots being drawn?

If you become inactive, and are then greened. Otherwise, no, that wouldn't be fair.

I agree with this approach.

However, I ask you on my knees to not completely remove Bourgogne. I agree with reducing it in size, but please do not remove it. We need a country that provides us with Asterix comics and French music (including but not limited to French chansons, Jean-Michel Jarre, Stromae (I know, he is from Belgium, but there is no Belgium-like nation on our forum) and Aya Nakamura).
