"Gouveian national press"
December 18th.

Vincente Albarron, the President of Gouveia stands before his country today, to announce that he will break the 57 year long isolationist attitude and open up better foreign relations. In a statement to his people and to the world, he promises,"This proud island country will speak out, it will be recognized, and it will be bettered by improved foreign relations. Gouveia is no longer the silent businessman, we as a country, as a people, have much more to offer the world than bananas, fish, and a nice tropical resort! We will open up more trade, more diplomatic talks with nations, and open our borders to more than the eager tourist!"

The president pauses, taking on an apologetic tone,"And as for the pirates and the drug runners that plague our shores and other nations with illegal narcotics, I promise you, this time. They will be found and this despicable cartel will be shut down for good."

While the promise to open up relations seems to be in process, the latter promise of eliminating the infamous cocaine drug cartel in the northern jungles has been made many times. Nevertheless, the president of Gouveia has made a historic change in foreign policies in an otherwise isolationist country.

Boliatur has greeted Gouveia with warm welcomes, finding that every new Communist nation is a step towards victory. The Nagy Vezeto has asked if the Gouveian government would welcome an ambassador and flowing trade through oceanic routes.

"With a hand of glory, we will prevail."

El Presidente accepts Boliatur's offer, and begins the construction of a Boliaturian embassy in the capital, and promises to coordinate overseas trade with it's fellow communist nation. In it's promise to open up to world trade, Gouveia has began to reinstate it's unused trade barges. While some speculate the Gouveian government has merely chosen to trade so openly with Boliatur because of political alignment, El Presidente has this to say:"To those who welcome our country with open arms, expect nothing but the same, and more!"
