King's Christmas speech

The King has given today the traditional Christmas speech. It is the fifth Christmas Speech given by King Mael Coluim V and the analysts have already described it as continuing the traditionalist approach of his father, King Crisdean II. The King payed homage to the workers of Caledonia which are developing the country, especially in the mormaerdoms of Maetia and Votadinia, in the frigid north, while also criticizing populist leaders, even attacking Donna Trumm.

The King has started his speech by first thanking the Caledonian people for the efforts they have done in their day to day jobs. It was followed by an homage to the victims first of the National-Syndicalist dictatorship and then of communism. The speech ended with a criticism of populist leaders which turn the people against their nature, giving Donna Trumm as an example of such a leader, considering her belligerent discourse. The King ended his speech urging the people to not forget the traits of a good christian and called the people to prayer.

"It is in those times, that the people's minds are vulnerable to charismatic leaders, many of whom speak in such a way that the crowds are absorbing every single word they say and begin to follow them. Such leaders, that promise the world, and even the Moon to the people are the ones that we must be caution of. They are the ones that will be the ordering thousands to their deaths as they have done so many times in history. Let us not forget the heroes of the Nordic Revolt of 1957 and their sacrifice. Let us not forget how easy it was later for National-Syndicalist leaders to take over the state during the reign of my grandfather, Eanruig II, just by promising the people salvation from communism. Let us then be weary of the politicians with big words, like the Implarian Social Republican Donna Trumm. Sometimes, the dog bites as hard as it barks," stated King Mael Coluim.

His Majesty's Government recalls embassy staff from Banja Luka

The Government of the High Kingdom of Caledonia has decided today to recall the embassy staff from Banja Luka and declared that as long as the regime of Raoul Farrago will remain in power, Crotobaltislavonia will be classed as a rogue state. The government also asked all Caledonian citizens to leave the country as fast as possible until it will be deemed safe again. The duties of the Banja Luka embassy will be taken on by the Caledonian embassy in Amstov.

The government has decided to take this step after the chaos that emerged from a failed coup d'etat, news about it trending on twatter as "#WTFChristmas2017". The crisis escalated even more with the arrival of Kadikistani soldiers on Slavonian soil. Toiseach Olibhia MacAnndra has declared that Crotobaltislavonia must not go on the road of Marxism-Leninism as it would encroach the Free State of Trivodnia and it would destabilize the whole Gallo-Germania.

"We cannot let the people of Trivodnia and Crotobaltislavonia become victims of crazed dictators and of marxism-leninovism. Caledonia knows how destructive this ideology is. We still remember how the mad bloodhound Moravscik has breached into our homes and destroyed everything we hold sacred. We will do whatever is possible to see that at the end of the day, the peoples of Crotobaltislavonia and Trivodnia will be safe from this plague," stated Olibhia MacAnndra in her speech in the Royal Assembly.

Thirty Two Dead in Severe Blizzard

A polar front has fallen on the Counties Votadinia and Maetia, bringing extremely low temperatures and high precipitations. More than 80 centimeters of snow has fallen in the Garan peninsula isolating the northern port of Dun Garan from the rest of the country. Extremely low temperatures have been felt all over the north, with less than -45 degrees Celsius in Dun Garan, - 30 in Puballan, Dun Tain and Strumnis, -25 in Calasraid and Rois and -17 in Dun Glas.

The blizzard has blocked all rail and airlines connecting the two counties in the north and also affected the functioning of the emergency services. Thirty two dead have been reported, out of those, twenty were homeless persons from Dun Glas and Strumnis which weren't received in shelters thanks to drug addictions that were declared as being mutually exclusive with the internal regulations of the shelters.

The low visibility has made six victims on the Dun Glas - Langaim Road, when a bus hit a lorry killing six and hurting more than fifteen. The authorities in Dun Eidyn have greed a code red emergency and has ordered the mobilization of all services, including the White Army, which will be mobilized to help clear the roads and railways to allow the other services function normally. Six more victims have been reported in the Cuillin Mountains in Votadinia. They were trekkers which have strayed from the trails and were found a few days later by mountain rescue teams.

The Empire of Loago to receive Home Rule

In a meeting today at St Piran's House in Dun Eidyn, the government of the High Kingdom of Caledonia has decided to finally sign the emergency legislation that gave Loago Home Rule. The act, which was called the Southern Autonomy Bill, reduces the responsibilities of the Lord Protector of Loago, making it now just a representative of the Emperor, acting like a regent when the King of Caledonia isn't in Loago. The act recreates the office of PM of Loago which will be legally occupied by the chairman or woman of the party that forms the government after general elections.

Before the Caledonian crisis of 1957, Loago was given home rule in 1950 and has organized two elections, one in 1950 and another in 1954, with the Loago National Front winning in both elections more than 70% of the vote and thus legitimizing the local government of Hamish Manyika. Home Rule was abolished in 1957 when PM Manyika was found out to be plotting together with the still illegal Marxist-Leninovist organization called The Loagin League of Communists. Since then, Loago was government by the Lord Proctector, first by Raonull Bòid, then by Eòghan MacPhàrlain and now by the Engello-Caledonian Reese Bivin.

With the new Act, political parties can now be again legally formed in Loago, with the exception of political wings of declared terrorist organizations. The Parliament of Loago will return to a Bicameral system, the higher house, The House of Chiefs remaining, while the lower house, The House of Delegates being again formed after it was suspended in 1957. Toiseach Olibhia MacAnndra has declared that the first elections in Loago will take place in the second half of February for the House of Delegates and the formation of a local government.

The mandate of Reese Bivin as Lord Protector will end in March and it will be renewed on the basis of the efficiency of the anti-drug campaigns started this autumn by Reese Bivin. Loago still is the world's largest producer and exporter of cocaine. The Toiseach has promised that by the end of her term, drug trade in and out of Loago will be a thing of the past.

OTHER NEWS
End of the year statistics: The National office of Statistics has estimated the population of Caledonia at 26 million at the end of 2017, the main minorities being 600,000 Boumerdans, 250,000 Loagins, 200,000 Gunnishmen and 100,000 Ivernians. Less than 10% of the Caledonians younger than 30 years old see communism as a threat, compared to more than 80% of the people that have lived through the 1957 Crisis.
Christmas Crisis: The government declared that it won't do anything more than sanctioning both General Radek and Raoul Farrago by freezing their assets in Caledonia. "When Caledonia fought to serve as the shield against communism, it suffered too much. Those days of rushed interventionism have ended," declared the Right Honorable Olibhia MacAnndra, Toiseach of Caledonia.

Boumerda accepted in the Viridian Compact

The Kindom of Boumerda has been reaccepted into the Viridian Compact after a state visit of Toiseach Olibhia MacAnndra in New Dunadd. The northern Himyari state has been given home rule in 1957 when Caledonia was engulfed in the Northern Emergency. The newly reformed state was under a local and Caledonian coregency, with the King of Caledonia still being King of Boumerda. Caledonia retained then only the city of Chostangea, which was kept as a direct Caledonian territory thanks to it's important Long Sea naval base. In 1982, the Boumerdan authorities invaded and took control of the city claiming it as a part of the native Kingdom. The Caledonian National Syndicalist regime led by Toiseach Padraig Mac a Phearsain, has responded only by sanctioning the Boumerda and by suspending it frol the common market offered by the Viridian Compact. With this, more than 50,000 Boumerdans, many of whom went to Loago during the Gold Rush of 1955 and 10,000 Boumerdans which went to work in Caledonia and didn't manage to take their Loagin or Caledonian citizenship were deported back home, thus creating one of the biggest human migrations in recent history.

Today, Toiseach Olibhia MacAnndra managed to rebuild everything that has been destroyed in the relationship between the two kingdoms. In her state visit to New Dunadd, she has met with the PM of Boumerda, The Right Honorable Lazaros Mantzaris and have brought to a fruitful end a series of negotiations that took most of the last year. The treaty of ascension has been signed in New Dunadd and it must now be ratified by the parliaments of the two nations and a date must be set, probably as early as mid March, if the legislative will rush with the vote, to officially allow free trade again between Boumerda and the two other nations of the Viridian Compact, Loago and Caledonia.

Toiseach Olibhia MacAnndra responded when inquired in regards to the Boumerdan deportation and stated that there will be no compensations for the Boumerdans which had to return from Loago and Caledonia back home. "Once Boumerda was suspended, they lost their rights to be there, with all due respect, Caledonia or Loago isn't responsible for them as long as they aren't citizens of those countries."

Controversial opinion article: Analyst Crisdean Munn has been criticized after he wrote in an opinion article on the online version of Dun Eidyn Times that the countries from the periphery like Implaria, Xinhai or Touzen developed such a hate for the old world and such a series of apocalyptic and eschatological ideologies that run their country especially because of their lack of history, which abounds mostly in Scania, Gallo-Germania and going up to the Frontier Lands.

Radio Boreal International to resume service

The Ministry of Information has announced today that it will resume the services of the RBI, the international version of the national radio broadcaster, Radio Boreal. International Service has started broadcasting in 1930 in Loago and Boumerda. By 1940 by service was expanded by adding Pelasgian, English and German as broadcasting languages and by 1950 it added Retalian, Touzeni, Kashtanese, Ostrovakian, Vyhoric, Wala, Fante and Juteish. In 1957, the RBI was sacked by the communist authorities of the short-lived People's Republic, but it was brought back by the National Syndicalist regime, with the last expansion coming in 1965, when it also started to broadcast in Yiddish, Krasnislavian, Xinhaiese, Warreic, French, Gedish and Markenese. But it seemed that as much as it wanted it, the regime couldn't fund the stations it wanted, and by 1980, many of the services were closed, with the exception of the Kadikistani, Wala, Fante, Boumerdan and English ones. The remaining were closed in 1985, when the National Syndicalist Regime fell.

In an decree signed today by Toiseach Olibhia MacAnndra, the RBI is brought back to life and will resume services in Ghaildig (Caledonian Gaelic), English and German in a first phase and if they are successful, in a second phase extension, Kadikistani, Vyhoric and Pelasgian will be added.

Toiseach Olibhia MacAnndra has stated that the new service will be closer to the pre-1957 service, giving good music in all languages and offering a free non partisan point of view for the news it presented. The Ghaildig service will be broadcast from Dun Eidyn, whereas the English and German services will be broadcast from Hallein, the capital of Carinthia-Harkany. All three services will can also be reached through internet radio. The programs can also be found on the site of RTC (Raidio Teilifis Chaledonia),

Railway Privatization Commission Report given to the Aonach

The Railway Privatization Commission, created in 1999 to organize a long period study on the way the privatization of Iarnrod Chaledonia, the Caldonian Rail has affected transportation between the year of privatization, 1995, and the present. Iarnrod Chaledonia was one of the biggest corporations in the High Kingdom, created in 1920, when during the Red Years it was created by the nationalization of five large railway operators. After the privatization in 1995, Iarnrod Chaledonia was reduced to infrastructure and asset keeping, lending it's assets to private companies and franchising the lines to the said companies.

The report, given to the Aonach presented the privatization in good light, much to the dismay of the opposition People's Federation, which has called for the re-nationalization since 1995. The commission has reported a raise in the number of travelers by 35% and also a raise in traveler's approval of the quality of services by 25%.

The Commission has also continued to stress that the fact that Iarnrod Chaledonia can now concentrate on keeping the infrastructure in a good state it can offer more resources to the development of high speed railways, giving as an argument a statistic which has shown that delays have been reduced by 30% since the privatization.

This has been described as a victory for the ruling Country Party and for the policies of liberalization started in 1995 and reaffirmed by Toiseach Olibhia MacAnndra.

This is Radio Boreal, Caledonia. The World Service English News
Broadcasting from Dun Eidyn, Maseru and Hallein

Peigi Catan: Welcome to Radio Boreal, this is Peigi Catan and those are the morning's main news. Caledonians to supervise the demobilisation of Trivodnia and Kadikistan. The Aonach ratifies the Ascension Treaty of Boumerda to the Viridian Compact. Lord Protector Reese Bivin declares anti-drug operations a great success. First, let's go to our correspondent in Amstov. Cel, we are listening to you.

Ceallach Munn: The tensions between the Free State of Trivodnia and the Kadikistani Union have been no news but since the failed coup in Crotobaltislavonia, dubbed the Christmas Crisis, the two states have been gearing up towards all out war. Since the arrival of Kadikistani soldiers and now the death of General Radek, the main leader of the failed putsch, the two sides have started negotiations to demobilise, hoping to return to normalcy. With the growing tensions between the Trier Concordat and Kadikistan and with Trivodnia being seen by some nations as friendly to the Concordat, if not aligned to it, there has been much distrust in the supposed demobilisation coming from both sides. Thus, the two countries agreed that neutral observers were needed and have thus requested the assistance of the High Kingdom of Caledonia. Toiseach Olibhia MacAnndra has been quick to accept and the bill passed smoothly through the Aonach, as the Toiseach has been pushing for more soft power emanating from the High Kingdom and this seems to be a good opportunity. In a first phase, 250 observers will be deployed towards the borderlands of Kadikistan and Trivodnia with another 500 to be sent in a second phase and if needed the numbers could rise. This is Ceallach Munn, Amstov.

Peigi Catan: Thank you, Cel, we are now returning home to our correspondent in Dun Eidyn.

Sim Creag: Thank you, Peigi. The Aonach has ratified the treaty of ascension of the Kingdom of Boumerda into the Viridian Compact, with 180 votes in support and 20 votes against. The statute of the Viridian Compact stipulates that the ascension is enforced in 2 months after the treaty is ratified by both parliaments and we are now waiting for the results coming from the Boumerdan legislative. The northern Himyari Kingdom was a colony of Caledonia until 1957, when it was given home rule and became a co-principality, with a local parliament and a local royal head of state that shared the title of King with the Caledonian King. In 1982, when the city of Chostangea was occupied unlawfully by the Boumerdan authorities, the country was suspended and then expelled from the Compact. The Compact creates a free economic and travel zone between the members and is seen as a successor of the Caledonian Colonial Empire. This is Sim Creag, Dun Eidyn.

Peigi Catan: And now we turn to sunny Loago where Isabel Mutezo gives us the last news report of this morning.

Isabel Mutezo: The Anti-Drug Campaign stated by Lord Protector Reese Bivin has been deemed a huge success. The Loagin Light Infantry has managed to secure a series of positions along the Loago-Peninsular Republic and Loago-Alexandras border and dismantled five laboratories that were used to produce cocaine that was later distributed towards Pelasgia and Gallo-Germania. This has been called a conclusion of the cleansing campaign organised by the Lord Protector which has first started with the creation of the Anti-Corruption Agency, which in the last year and a half since it's creation, has managed to bring to trial more than 200 people from the higher echelons of administration for bribery, embezzlement and for supporting the cocaine cartels from governmental scrutiny. The first phase was represented by the administrative cleanse and now, the Lord Protector has called for the hard power cleaning, effectively sending the army to finally stomp out cocaine producers. Before the campaign started, the drug trafficking problem has been seen as something endemic to the Loagin society, as previous campaigns have been ineffective, thanks to the low morale of the forces of the Ministry of Interior, the corruption of it's officials and the ways the cartel members have infiltrated the administration. Since the Ministry of Interior of Caledonia has stepped in once Reese Bivin was appointed Lord Protector, many of the ones accused of being members of the cartels have been sent to trial and then to Caledonian prisons, thus completely breaking the parasitic status the cartels had on the Loagin administration. The proclamation of home rule, which was first given in 1940 but was suspended in 1957, seems to have raised the morale of the Loagin authorities, which are expecting to see cocaine smuggling to be reduced by 75% by July. Isabel Mutezo, Maseru.

Peigi Catan: Thank you, Isabel. Those were the morning news. Next on the program we have . In today's show, we will explore the new sounds from Maseru. The old mixes with the new and the '70s are revived in Loago today with the reappearance of psychedelic rock and funk on the nightclubbing scene of Maseru.

Peigi Catan: To those now tuning in I say again welcome to Radio Boreal International. This is the 5 o'clock debate, I am your host, Peigi Catan and today with me are two members of the Aonach, the Honorable Aedan Blacach, leader of the Socialist Revolutionary Party and member for Dun Glas-Garan Road and the Honorable Conn Breac, member of the Country Party and a member of the Aonach for Baile Steaphan North. With me is also Réamonn Ó Connagáin, political analyst. We will be discussing today the subject of Republicanism and it's future in Caledonian society. Remember, you can listen us on the internet on . So, republicanism, our country had two republican episodes and now there are voices calling to give it a third chance. What do you think?

Réamonn Ó Connagáin: It is clear that our republican episodes are not stemming from a real republican sentiment but from a spirit of opposition coming from the people in moments of crisis. Our first republic came as a result of a revolt of the people in the north during a famine. The second republic came as a result of a national bankruptcy following the hawkish anti-communist policies of the National Syndicalist regime which wanted to present itself as the knight in shining armour fighting against communism on every front of this world.

Aedan Blacach: It is clear that the republican sentiment does exist, calling it just a phase stemming from desperation is offensive to the Caledonian people. Since the declaration of the Far Northern Republic in Dun Garan in 1870, republicanism is an ideology that has been present in Caledonian political philosophy. It is an ideology which has been oppressed unceasingly from it's inception until 1985, with the exception of 1957, when the Caledonians have seen the light with the Internal Settlement and the presidency of Roman Becker...

Conn Breac: *interrupts* I think you are jesting, Mr Blacach. The Caledonians have seen the light during one of the worst dictatorships this country has ever seen?

Aedan Blacach: The worst dictatorship this country has seen? The Democratic Socialist Republic and the People's Republic have been mere jokes authoritarian wise, compared to the National Syndicalist regime.

Conn Breac: *interrupts* That is only because the commies aren't stable and they can't control the nation more than a year.

Peigi Catan: Mister Breac, please stop interrupting, otherwise you will be banned from the discussion.

Aedan Blacach: The idea is that the National Syndicalist regime fell in the summer of 1956 after the internal settlement when the Party of the Left made peace with the moderates of the regime and they agreed to the republic. The problem with the instability of the era comes not from the Party of the Left or the republicans, but from the Whites.

Conn Breac: *interrupts* How dare you?!

Peigi Catan: *interrupts* Mister Breac, this is your last warning.

Aedan Blacach: From what I remember, the first part, the Democratic Socialist Republican era was a period of optimism and economic growth. And this is what even the Ministry of Economy has recognized. What destroyed the whole project was the coup d'etat organised in Dun Glas and the civil war that followed.

Réamonn Ó Connagáin: I'm sorry but I must be against this. The so-called coup was the spark that started our liberation war.

Aedan Blacach: Liberation from what?

Conn Breac: From the Kadikis. The republicans have sold us to the Kadikis.

Aedan Blacach: Did they? Then why did the Kadikistani gave so many resources and money to rejuvenate the development of Dun Eidyn during the republican year 1956-57? Why was even the city you represent, Mister Breac built to it's current form from Kadikistani money? Why did the National Syndicalists gave so much money to expeditions to foreign lands to fight against freedom and social fighters while the country was stagnating. Nearly half of the budget was given to defence for 5 years straight from 1951 to 1956. The people were pauperised at home, while in politics we were representing ourselves as the great heroes we never were. If the Country Party is now so hell bent on this idea of finding out who sold the country Kadikistan, let me tell you something. When the Northern Status Quo Treaty was signed, the National Syndicalists, many of their members being now the so-called liberals and democrats of the Country party, have given the wealth of Loago and Caledonia to Kadikistan to let them return to power. Caledonia never seen so much gold as they have given to Kadikistan. It was you who sold the nation, not us. We see the events as follows. In the autumn of 1956, the internal settlements declares the republic. In late November the coup in Dun Glas takes place and in it's aftermath the civil war starts. From my point of view, Kadikistan is a friendly nation that not only helped liberate us from the National Syndicalist dictatorship, but has provided us with stability and wealth. The unstable factor wasn't Kadikistan, but the White Army, the watchdogs of the National Syndicalist dictatorship.

Conn Breac: Your republic was just a satellite state of Kadikistan. An Apartheid system in which a Kadiki-friendly German minority based on Dun Eidyn and Baile Steaphan has dominated the country by enslaving the real Caledonians and ruining everything that has been built by us.

Aedan Blacach: Are you saying that the voters from your electoral college are not real Caledonians because they speak German as a mother tongue and they support republicanism?

Conn Breac: No, I've been refering to them as not ethnic Caledonians. You cannot now say that your republic was democratic. It had an ethnic minority ruling through a Marxist-Leninovist single Party.

Aedan Blacach: You said that they weren't real Caledonians, Mister Breac. You are from the same dough as the National Syndicalists. I am sorry but this is why we want a republic. We need to be more inclusive so that the horrors of the fascist dictatorship will never return. You have the nerve of telling me that the republic was the worst, when during wartime, there never were more than 10,000 detained. Those are numbers accepted by the government now. Whereas during the National Syndicalist Dictatorship, there were 75,000 until 1956, and afterwards, in 1957 in the autumn, the number was closer to 300,000 of political prisoners, those coming from a nation that had only 9 million inhabitants at that time! And yet, you fret about how the Germans living in Caledonia are to be blamed. Thanks to you and your fascists the German community is no more, as they ran away as refugees to Elben, Carinthia or Eiffelland to escape the fascists. This is a black stain on the name of the High Kingdom.

Réamonn Ó Connagáin: This is true. The fascist policies and the fear of anti-German actions have destroyed a historical community in southern Caledonia that would have celebrated 800 years of history by now.

Aedan Blacach: This is why we want to go forward. In the current narrative, the 1956-1957 winter is a taboo in our country. The Revolutionary Socialist Party will want to bring this history back to the stage light and we will ask the Constitutional Court the next week to decide if the Internal Settlement was lawful. If it was lawful, then, it is clear that the so-called Liberation war was an illegal war and that might present to the whole people the Monarchy as we see it. An illegal institution that has supported and flourished thanks to the fascist dictatorship.

Conn Breac: Mister Blacach, if the current form of the High Kingdom is so bad that it needs to be changed, I feel that I must remind you, that it is thanks to this current democracy that we have that you have the right to talk about the illegality of the monarchy and the ways to abolish it. If we were to live in a country of your liking, like Kadikistan, we would have been breaking stones in the frigid North in a labour camp just because we have thought of something like a change in government. So please, be civilised and respect the others and their rights.

Aedan Blacach: Mister Breac, if this democracy is so great, like you say, then why are you so much against the idea of criticism? Why can't you, if you say to love liberalism and democracy so much, criticise the National-Syndicalist regime? I will respond in your name, for your listeners: It is because you know that should the republic be instated again, the archives of the old fascist secret police are to be declassified and we all know that more than half if not all members of the Aonach from the Country Party will be discredited by what we will find there. We all know it but we pretend not to care, but the truth is there. The Country Party is the successor of the National-Syndicalist Movement.

Peigi Catan: Thank you, gentlement, this concludes our show. Time to listen to some

Behind the mask of liberalism
Opinion article by Seathan MacRath

The March on Trier seems to bring the worst in the country that presents itself as the great home of liberalism, Eiffelland. What is the March on Trier doing, if not showing a wave of internationalist anti-Marxist-Feudalist sentiment by bringing together people for whom the defence of Gallo-Germanian democracy, culture and religion is the main issue? What is Eiffelland and it's Trier Accord allies, Bourgogne, Retalia and Pelasgia doing when the clutches of communism are not only getting closer, but are now in the heartland of Germania. Probably by the time the Kadikistani solders and Serenierre ones will shake hands in Chagny, they will start to think what went wrong, because by that time, everything has gone extremely wrong.

Currently, we can see three main political movements in the world: The Clerical Conservatives (which I will call National-Syndicalists for our Caledonian readers to have them link it to our movement), The Liberals and the Communists. As much as I oppose communism, I can respect it. It's rhetoric is noble, with it's main ideas being the liberation of humankind from exploitation and from the clutches of capitalism. The clerical conservatives, I believe are the best if they take the form of our National-Syndicalists as they balance the human economical emancipation from capitalism with the needs of the human soul, soothing it with faith towards God and the Church and with the need of belonging arising from national integralism. Compared to those ideologies, liberalism is socially, morally and from the looks of it, economically bankrupt.

Eiffelland is a country of contradictions. It blends the rhetoric of a land of the free with the harsh realities of labour camps. While the Eiffellanders are presenting themselves as progressive and free by allowing their homosexuals to marry, it also arrests many members of more controversial political parties. Eiffelland truly is a dystopia. Can you imagine a country saying "live and let live" in the same statement in which they say that all the members of the GEL party are to surrender themselves to the police to be arrested until the March on Trier passes. It is clear that this is made just so that in their domestic media, they can say that the evil fascists are foreigners and that all Eiffellanders are good liberals.

We are now in a row of criticising our history and I need to say, that Eiffelland is very close to what the detractors say of the National Syndicalist regime of Caledonia, which they present as the worst dictatorship our country had, though I will still say that the communist republic was worst. Firstly, labour camps: Tin mines in Votadinia, Coal mines in Eiffelland; GEL party disbanded and members arrested in Eiffelland, Party of the Left disbanded and members arrested in Caledonia; I sincerely see no difference and yet we are currently criticising the National-Syndicalist regime of Caledonia but we are emulating Eiffelland. But yet, this Germanian country is worse. If riots start, Eiffelland is planning to arrest even foreign individuals, without caring of the diplomatic incidents it may cause. They are ready to defend their liberal dystopia gun in hand. Never ever has the National-Syndicalist Regime had the courage to arrest foreign individuals and detain them in Caledonia. They were all deported back to their country of origin. And yet, many of our "progressive" countrymen criticise the pre-1985 Caledonia and are emulating Eiffelland, saying that their economy is better and they are more socially inclusive, exampling the status of homosexuals in their country. Let me say again, that the last time I read the laws of the National-Syndicalists, homosexuality was legal in "evil-fascist" Caledonia, and if they want to see a productive economy, I invite them to remember that only 5-10% of the currently functioning companies and corporations in Caledonia have emerged after 1985, the rest being from those hated times. If you want to remember the days in which we were strong, I want to tell you to go now to Saint Piran hill in eastern Dun Eidyn and take a look at the military port, where you will see the CRS Lugh, the flagship of our navy, built by Caledonian hands, with Caledonian resources. Let us not forget the Caledonian Empire which brought together under the white-blue-white flag large swaths of land in Himyar. There is nothing Eiffelland can compare to that.

No, liberalism is a farce. A farce that enslaves the people to capital and consumerism. Liberalism let's you be happy as long as you are shallow. If you start to really think for yourself, it is as authoritarian as every dictatorship, if not worse. That is why I call you all to March on Trier and end this farce and they I invite you all to Dun Eidyn.

OTHER NEWS
Strike: Railway Infrastructure workers have entered a general strike, thus blocking most rail traffic. The workers ask for the re-nationalisation of Iarnrod Chaledoniann and it's return as a statutory corporation under the state's administration, as a solution for the continuous reduction of salaries.
Cheaper Coal: Toiseach Olibhia MacAnndra has stated in a recent interview that the Country Party may propose the closing of more than 50% of the coal pits in Caledonia. The Toiseach stated that with the free trade agreements with Loago and Boumerda it is 90% cheaper to import coal from those two countries with zero tariffs, than to extract coal from the homeland. This is the next move in the neo-liberal revolution proposed by the Country Party to thaw the country's economic development.

We have to point at a crucial omission in Mr. MacRath's opinion article. Indeed, we dismantled the GEL and are still following its former members. The reason for that, however, is not the ideology this organisation followed. The Volksunion is a political party that propagates a far-right ideology, and that political party is perfectly legal. The difference between the Volksunion and the GEL, however, is that the GEL stimulated and promoted violence against foreigners, ethnic and religious minorities, and homosexuals. No country can tolerate that. This tendency to violence, and this alone, is the reason why the Eiffellandian authorities disbanded the GEL and still monitors its former members.

National-Syndicalist surprise victory in by-elections

Yesterday's by-elections for the Aonach have been the biggest of such elections in the history of Caledonia, as a quarter of the one hundred seats of the Aonach have been sent forward for the elections. The 25 seats are mostly for members for the colleges of Votadinia and Maetia, mostly extremely conservative regions, and 2 were for Baile Steaphan South and Banbh - Shin Road. Considering the general political leanings of the two northern Mormaerdoms and with the pilgrimage taking now place in Calasraid it was no surprise to see the electorate turning towards more conservative parties like the Country Party or the Christian People's Party, but the surprising fact was that those parties have been snubbed by voters, which have supported the National-Syndicalist Party.

The twenty three seats for Maetia and Votadinia have been won by the NSP, while the Socialist Revolutionary Party won one and the Green Party won the other. The elections have proved to be a huge victory of the NSP, and a defeat for the mainstream parties like the Country Party, which has lost 17 seats and the Social Democratic Party, which has lost 8. This might bring the country is a political crisis with a minority government.

Post Election situation:
Country Party - 34
National - Syndicalist Party - 28
Social Democratic Party - 20
Socialist Revolutionary Party - 16
Green Party - 2

"It is clear that the way those elections have gone, has shown that the so-called Liberal Revolution proposed by Toiseach Olibhia MacAnndra. As much as the economical reforms were advertised as bringers of wealth and prosperity it has helped only foreign based corporations, while the Caledonian workers have mostly seen their labour waster for smaller wages and for uncertainty. As much as they say that the apparitions in Calasraid and the the National-Syndicalist support of the pilgrims might have swayed voters for them, I feel that the privatisation of the railways, which have made nearly 5000 people jobless has been more important. This was followed by the admission of Boumerda back into the Viridian Pact, which will bring cheaper coal imports to Caledonia and also cheap labour, which again will send many Caledonians into unemployment. No, the National - Syndicalists don't actually represent the pilgrims and this religious charity, but they represent more likely stability and the certainty that tomorrow, maybe it won't be prosperous and plentiful but it will at least be decent. That is what the Caledonians voted for. A rejection of neo-liberalism explains why the Country Party has lost all those seats, while the fact that the people are deeply religious and conservative in the competed regions, explains why the NSP won those seats and not the Marxists. If you are a person that goes to the church every Sunday, you respect all the religious laws and you even went to the Calasraid pilgrimage, it is clear that you will vote for the NSP, not for the Socialist Revolutionaries," stated Réamonn Ó Connagáin, polytical analyst, explaining the surge of the Syndicalists.

Toiseach Olibhia MacAnndra is now leading a minority government whose only option would be to gain the support of the Green and Social Democratic Party, on the centre left-wing side, or of the National - Syndicalist Party, on the right-wing side. The Socialist Revolutionary Party is a declared enemy of the Country Party.

National faction wins Country Party leadership election.
Saig Madec forms National Union

Today, the Executive Committee of the Country Party has come together to vote on the future leader of the party. Olibhia MacAnndra has stated that she needs the full support of the party before forming a coalition with either the corporatist parties or the centre left parties. She was representing the liberal faction of the Country Party, which has dominated it for nearly 30 years, since the end of the old dictatorship. Her faction was supporting a Grand Coalition of the Historical Parties and wanted to invite the Social Democrats and the Greens to form a new government. The other faction, representing the National faction, of more commonly known the Nostalgic faction has been supporting the idea of union with the National Syndicalists.

The mass historical support the Liberal faction had in the past has made Olibhia MacAnndra begin a most complex project of liberalising the economy to end the stagnation that was brought between 1985 and 1999. The project implied the privatisation of much of the Caledonian companies and corporations, the reduction of tax burden along the whole Viridian Compact block, the reduction of the powers of the trade unions and a relaxation of the labour legislation, especially in Loago. This has brought the creation of a plethora of new small and micro companies, but in general has brought upon a reduction of the standard of life in Caledonia and Loago, as salaries fell, purchasing power being now 90% of what it was in 1985 and the closing of the big "unprofitable and
inefficient" corporations brought the rate of unemployment on to the rate of two digits. As much as the small companies and enterprises have appeared, they have in average two to three employees, most of them functioning in the service sector, leaving thousands of people whom were working in the industrial sector unemployed. As much as many economists have declared that in time, the market will regulate itself and thus the prosperity promised by MacAnndra will come, the people didn't feel like waiting for years and have started to turn against the so-called Liberal Revolution. This has been the main reason the party has lost the by-election and this has been now the reason the Liberal Faction was literally obliterated at the leadership election.

The members of the Executive Committee have voted 80% for the replacement of Olibhia MacAnndra as Party General Secretary with the Chairman of the National-Syndicalist Party, Sean Morgan, thus fusing the two parties and forming what Morgan has proposed as the National Union.

During the election meeting of the ExCom, the March on Dun Eidyn was being organised by the National-Syndicalist party member, Seathan MacRath who called all the supporters of Corporatism and the party to Dun Eidyn to put pressure on the Country Party not to form a coalition with the Social Democratic Party and the Greens. The Mayor of Dun Eidyn, Caitrìona Smios has approved the demonstration but has ordered it to take place in the Heroes Square, along the Waterfront District of the Dun Eidyn to keep it away from the headquarters of the Country Party. There have been around 150,000 people coming from all over the country to participate at the March. There have also been foreigners, with about at total of 5000 Ivernians, Bergenheimers, Vyhorics, Gunnishmen and Elbeners. Important foreign representatives like Ernst von Thadden, the leader of the Heimatsfront and the organiser of the March on Trier have been present here and have cheered when they heard of the leadership election results. As much as the Mayor ordered an increased presence of the Kerns and of the police in the city to be sure that riots won't ensure like in Trier, the demonstration has been peaceful, thankfully mostly to the positive result from the ExCom meeting.

With this new fusion, the National-Syndicalist Party has been united with the Country Party, forming the National Union, which now has 62 seats in the Aonach occupied by it's members. This new political party has now all the seats needed to form the government by itself without the need to form a coalition. Saig Madec is now to succeed Olivia mab Andras as Benadur of Caledonia.

"The March on Dun Eidyn has been a great victory of us. The first March, on Trier has been important as it raised the consciousness of the people into being more pro-active in defending the values and cultures of Gallo-Germania and Scania and to stop the destruction of morality. This second march, has been a great victory as we have seen that Caledonia is now becoming a vanguard in this defence as it has turned it's back on liberalism for the sake of it's people and it's nationhood," stated Seathan MacRach, organiser of the March on Dun Eidyn.

"I am humbled by the support the Country Party gives to me and I am glad to see that they have chosen to fight for the betterment of the people and of the nation, not of the capital and have chosen to united with the National-Syndicalist Party. I promise that this newly created National Union will work tirelessly day and night to provide stability, respect and a safe tomorrow for our children. Caledonia will raise, with the help of God to what it was before this ill-fated liberal revolution has wrecked havoc in our homes," stated Sean Morgan.

Saig Madec calls for the "Wedding of Loago with Caledonia"

After his government was voted in the Aonach in the last days, Saig Madec and the National Union has called for a closer relationship between Loago and Caledonia. In his speech in the Aonach, Benadur Saig Madec presented the new ideological element of the National Union, presenting Caledonia as a multinational and pluricontinental state. He has stated that he will support the home rule and the return to local democracy in Loago after the executive functions of the local Loagin government have been suspended in 1956 when the communists have taken over Caledonia. Thus, the Benadur has declared it's support of the disbandment of the office of Lord Protector of Loago and it's replacement with the office of President of the Council of Ministers, who will head an executive appointed by an elected legislative.

The Benadur hasthus proposed the disbandment of the Imperial statute of Loago, which he calls a title without any sort of substance. Instead of that, Saig Madec calls for Loago to become an autonomous but integrated part of the Caledonian nation. If the bill, which has been dubbed the "National Marriage Bill" is to pass the Aonach, Loago will become a federated part of a Greater Caledonian, rather than a country under a crown union. Either way, Saig Madec stated that this would end the colonial status of Loago and will thus bring the centuries old Caledonian quest of civilisation to an end.

"Though it is an antiquated term, the civilising mission was a real endeavour that Caledonia participated in two centuries ago. Today, we look back and we actually see that the Caledonians and the Fante and Wala have lived together for so much time, that they have started to influence each other. The Caledonians today aren't the Caledonians of the 18th century. The Fante and Wala today aren't the ones who were living in Loago in the 18th and 19th century. We have created together two nations, Caledonia and Loago, which are now stronger than they ever were before. That is why, we need to unite our two countries. We will be strong and we will survive only if we stick together, not as a metropolis and a colony, but as two federated countries, not held together by a common king, but held together in a a holy bond from which both Caledonians and the Loagins can profit," stated Saig Madec.

When asked what will happen to the Viridian Compact, should this union take place, Saig Madec answered clearly: "It can easily be disbanded. Boumerda will have to come to renegotiate a simple free trade and free travel treaty with Caledonia as the old institutions will be disbanded and thus the treaty signed by Olivia mab Andras will be null and void."

Until now, the Tribunal of Maseru has reported the creation of a series of Loagin parties, The Loago National Union which is a Loagin corporatist party, The National Liberal Party, a centre-right progressive party, The Social Christian Party, a centre-right wing and socially conservative party, The Chimurenga Party, a nationalist pro-independence party and the Fante Nation, a minority interest party. The Loagin League of Communists, has applied too to join in the elections in Loago and it has been approved, but the LLC has a strong history of armed opposition against the Loagin State, and currently is headquartered in the Peninuslar Republic.

Many of the Unionist parties, like the LNU, the NLP and the SCP are financially supported by the Loagin diaspora from Caledonia, making unionism one of the most powerful issues, as the money transferred to Loago from the diaspora working in Scania and Gallo-Germania is the main income for hard currency.

Controversial
statue: The Revolutionary Socialist Party calls for the building of a statue of the Kadikistani leader Sergei Moravscik in Calasraid. The National Union has declared that such a thing would doesn't even deserve to be brought to discussions in the Aonach, as it is a not just bad taste, but the worst taste for them. Calasraid is the town in which in 1957 the Caitish guerrilla leader Camulus was killed by the detachment led by Sergei Moravscik and is also the target of the current pilgrimage to the Holy Mary Monastery.
Observation mission complete: The Caledonian Observer Mission to Trivodnia and Kadikistan has as of today officially completed it's mission. The demobilisation has been brought successfully to an end, as both Kadikistani and Trivodnian soldiers have returned to their barracks signifying an end to a tense episode brought forward by the Cristmas Coup in Crotobaltislavonia. After continuous tensed episodes, the perigee of the Trivodnian-Kadikistani relations being in 1957, to avoid any kind of surprises and potential preemptive strikes, both countries have agreed to demobilise under foreign and neutral observers. Around 1200 Caledonians have participated in this mission and a new decoration has been brought forward by Benadur Saig Madec, name the Cross of Peace, which will be given to the soldiers who volunteered for this mission.

Constitutional Court invalidates the "National marriage bill"

The Constitutional Courts has invalidated in a vote held today the law dubbed the "National Marriage Bill" which was supposed to disband the Empire of Loago and to integrate it as a state inside Caledonia. Out of the ten members of the court, eight voted against the constitutionality of the bill and two for it. The main argument brought forward by the head of the Constitutional Court, Gwen Felix was that the bill changed the national statute of both Caledonia and Loago and that such statute is embedded in the constitution. Such a change must be made only after the referendum which would alter the constitution to allow for the integration.

The invalidation of the law has brought the Constitutional Court under attack after Seathan MacRath, the vice-chairman of the National Union commented on the subject, calling the Constitutional Court an "obsolete institution filled with delirious parasites which stand in the way of Caledonian greatness". The head of government and of the National Union, Benadur Saig Madec has been less acid in his comments, but still stated that "Caledonia will rejuvenate it's Empire, even if there are traitors which are ready to stop us".

On the other side of the barricades, Aedan Blacach, the leader the Revolutionary Socialist Party, which as of today has been renamed the League of Communists of Caledonia, has declared that if the government will continue on this path and call for a referendum, it should put a third option to vote for the 1957 republican constitution, as it might attract more people than any sorts of "imperial wet dreams".

National Labour Confederation calls for continued protests

In response to the events of the 11th of February where a manifestation organised by the National Labour Confederation and the National Students' Union which brought together more than 300,000 demonstrators in the Heroes Square, which were attacked by the police and by the blueshirts, the trade unions call for continued protests. In that day, which the head of the NLC described as the "infamous day in which the Caledonia we knew and respected died and the pre-85 one returned," 15 students and labourers were killed either by being trampled by the mounted police or beaten to death and more than 500 have been arrested.

"It is our duty to resist the fascist takeover of your country. We defeated National-Syndicalism in 1956 and in 1985. The time has come to do it again," stated Loic Neven, the chairman of the NLC. The trade unions are organising new demonstrations in major Caledonian cities for this weekend and are expecting nearly one million attendants nationwide.

The requests of the National Labour Confederation and of the National Students' Union are the following: snap elections, nationalisation of the railways, improvement of the living standards in student dormitories, increase of the minimum wage by 15%, a reshuffle of the high command of the Guardians of Peace, the declaration of the National Defence of Tradition Union (the Blueshirts) as a terrorist organisation and the prosecution of the high commissioner of the gendarmes, General Urguist for crimes against humanity.

OTHER NEWS
Creation of the League of Communists: The Social Democratic and Green Parties have voted in one joint extraordinary congress to join forces with the Revolutionary Socialist Party against the National Union. Following the intransigent tradition of Marxism-Leninovism, the chairman of the RSP, Aedan Blacach has declared that the main condition of the alliance to be the integration of the two parties in the RSP which will be renamed into the League of Communists of Caledonia and the members of the Social Democratic and Green parties will have to abide to the same guidelines that the revolutionary socialists so strictly respect.
Accusations of collusion: There have been more than 50 complaints and accusations in the past week submitted at the Dun Eidyn tribunal against both the Guardians of Peace and of the National Defence of Tradition Union for the repression of the demonstration that took place in Heroes Square in the 11th of February. Many have accused the Guardians of Peace with colluding with the blueshirts to fight the trade unionists and the students and have called the NDTU an illegal paramilitary wing of the National Union. The government hasn't commented on this as of yet.

This is Radio Boreal, . The World Service English News
Broadcasting from Dun Eidyn, Maseru and Hallein

Peigi Catan: We have returned to our special shows regarding the revolution and Réamonn Ó Connagáin, political analyst and head of the "Political Transparency Now" think thank, who will talk to us about what this proclamation of the republic will mean both in the short run but also in the long run for the Caledonians. Mister Ó Connagáin, what do you think motivated and made the Caledonians to take such a radical route?

Réamonn Ó Connagáin: Good day, Peigi and good day to our listeners too. This whole movement, I'd say that it originates from panic, and it's not a recent development, nor it comes from the left-wingers, but from the conservative and reactionary right. Let us look back in history. In 1985, the Corporatist regime has fallen after it lost all it's legitimacy when it was defeated militarily by Boumerda. Since then, the liberals and socialists have dominated Caledonian politics, and two things must be mentioned, first and foremost, the secularisation of the country, and secondly, the political scheme created by the Social Democrats and the Country Party to alternate in power. The most important element is actually the secularisation. The old regime from the days before '85 was nearly a theocratic one, probably that is also why the Elbeners and the Gunnmen liked Caledonia so much. But afterwards, change came. Catholicism remained the state religion, but the new civil code legalised homosexuality, abortions, though it was done only to save the life of the mother, divorce and even gave civic marriage a much more importance than the religious one. Those are things that create a powerful fear in the traditionalist people in Caledonia. Followed by the cultural opening which brought foreign music, and foreign cultural elements which the Caledonian youth seen as being much more interesting. This is panic of the culture and traditions of the Caledonians dissolving with the liberal and progressive reforms is what instilled the panic in the conservatives. That is what made the National-Syndicalist Party so popular in the by-elections. The events like the victory of the NSP, the alternation in power between the Social Democrats and the Country Party and the March on Dun Eidyn created panic on the other side. And now, here we are, with radicalised politics and with a month of February which has filled the glass and even managed to break it.

Peigi Catan: Currently the League of Communists of Caledonia, is the party in power. We know that this party is an orthodox Marxist-Leninovist party. Not a rejectionist radical like the Calidian party, but not a democratic socialist party which the M-Lists call revisionist either. We know of the tenets of democratic centralism and how in practice the LCC will become the sole party. Have the Caledonians just chose to become a dictatorship?

Réamonn Ó Connagáin: It may sound strange, but it practice, yes. We know that even when it was the Party of the Left of the Revolutionary Socialist Party, they never made a secret that they want to create a Marxist-Leninovist socialist state and that clearly means that what they deem to be "bourgeois" parties will be declared illegal. I strongly feel that the Greens and the Social Democrats have understood that they and mainstream politics have failed when the National Union took over, so to save themselves from becoming illegal they have decided to side with the winners. As for democracy, I want to ask, what is democracy? the Eiffellandian model is the democratic one? or the Touzeni? Democratic centralism is one of the many political theories that define democracy and today with the current technology it is easier for all the people to join the democratic process of the party, than it was to the Kadikistani in the 30s, when they adopted this system. Seeing the way the process works from inside the party, I feel that the Caledonians might be more interested in this system than they were in the Eiffellandian system which we had since 1985. So again, everything is relative, and politics are much more complex than a black and white system in which we can easily categorise countries in being either dictatorial or democratic.

Peigi Catan: What about the economic system? We know that much of the Kadikistani economy is nationalised. Does that mean that the LCC will start nationalisations soon?

Réamonn Ó Connagáin: Well, the LCC isn't the first to call for nationalisations. The Social Democratic Party did that too and it was a continuous conflict between the SDP and the Country Party regarding nationalisation, especially of the railways. This revolution that we had has created a panic on the stock market, especially when the economical politics of Marxist-Leninovists are widely known, but this might have actually helped the government. So many stocks of Caledonian companies are on sale today and with no one buying them out of fear of losing their money after nationalisation, they are all extremely cheap. The government will surely just buy them all and with this it enacts it's nationalisation policies. Also, no criticism can be given as by buying them, they respect the rights of the owners and even if the prices are merely symbolical, they still represent a sort of compensation.

Peigi Catan: Thank you, Réamonn Ó Connagáin for coming to RBI and explaining this day's events to our audience. We have received news that the provisional government of the republic, the Revolutionary Council has chosen to organise a referendum in which the people can vote for their preferred government system. The referendum will be organised the next Sunday and will give the people the chance to choose between the republic or the monarchy. That is all currently, I'll leave you with some .

Official Organ of the Caledonian Labour Movement since 1890
English Version - 21 Hvevrer 2018

Building the world of tomorrow

Sixty years have passed since the death of Nikolai Leninov and our second Republic. Sixty years which have changed the world, as technology has evolved and has made the status of the proletariat in the capitalist countries even more precarious. The automaton and computerisation of the production lines shows that the labour movement must evolve as the capitalists will replace the people and the workers with robots so they can curb the expenses of wagers and thus accumulate even more wealth than ever. This is bringing our world to a point in which we can choose two directions: capitalism and famine or communism and prosperity.

In the future, with this current trend, in the Capitalist countries, the working class will be pushed into abject poverty, as the Capitalists will feel that there is no further need to "waste" resources on basic human rights, such as the right to a job, the right to decent wages, the right to human dignity, the right to pursue happiness. As more and more people will lose their jobs, with the technologisation of the assembly lines, the Capitalist world will take a downturn. A survey organised by the Caledonian government at the behest of the Social Democratic Party in 1998, has shown that around 85% of the workers whose hourly wages were under 20 Bonn and 35% of those with an hourly wage of 35 Bonn will lose their jobs, thanks to technological unemployment.

As a response to this, in time, the capitalist system will fail, as the masses of the people will lose jobs and with it their income and purchasing power. The vicious cycle that is the capitalist system is based on the exploitation of the people but now, with this new and last developments in industries, much of the efforts of the blue collar worker are replaced by the tireless labour of robots and automatons. While some may say this hails a period in which there will be no exploitation, the capitalists don't care about that. In their blindness fed by lust for wealth and greed, they can't understand that what they call a victory for their battle for profits, is actually a death sentence. No one would buy their goods if they don't have jobs that pay well. While in the short run may be problematic for the workers, in the long run, the days of the capitalist system are numbered.

Compared to this, the technological advancements show that the road to communism is now clear and that what was in the 19th century a utopia is now a reality that we can soon enjoy. The League of Communists of Caledonia will socialise the economy of the country and will create a system of social dividends so that every worker and citizen of the Democratic Republic will fully enjoy the fruits of his or her labour. That way, a universal income will be offered on a monthly basis and it's quantum will depend on the success of the people's economy, which our analysts predict that will sharply rise the next year, when the worker's councils will be fully organised. To further increase the work efficiency and the decency of labour, the LCC will provide one of the most revolutionary labour reforms in more than a century and will reduce the working week to 30 hours per week. That way, the workers will enjoy much more the fruits of the labour, as they can spend much more time with their families and friend and enjoying life.

The future is bright comrades, let us enjoy it while also building an even better one for our children.

OTHER NEWS
Federation: The Central Committee of the League of Communists of Caledonia has voted to amend the proposed constitution of the Democratic Republic. It has been decided that the new Constitution will be based on the Beckerist Constitution of 1957, but an important amendment has changed the status of the country. The CC of the LCC decided that instead of a unitary republic as the 2nd Republic was, the 3rd Republic should be a federated state. Thus, counties Maetia, Dumnonia and Deira will be transformed in autonomous communes which their own regional parliaments. County Votadinia will be transformed into the Far Northern Republic and it's borders with Maetia have been altered, with the northern regions of the commune being given to the Far Northern Republic. County Cervetia has been disbanded and it's territory has been divided, the north was given to the Maetian Commune, while the south was given to the Dumnonian Commune. Two more autonomous regions have been created, carved out of the territory of Dumnonia, namely the Ivernian Autonomous Democratic Socialist Republic, in the south-west, along the borders of Ivernia and the Jewish Autonomous Democratic Socialist Republic, in the south, along the coast.

Election and Referendum. A presentation of the competing parties

For tomorrow's elections, the Caledonian has brought forward an analysis of each competing party running in Caledonia and in Loago with the hopes of winning or at least being a part of the future government. Our analysts have interviewed party leaders on each of the major issues which is of interest in the Caledonian society now, the republican referendum, the Snowdrop Revolution of February, the future of Loago, foreign relations, the civil code and taxation policy.

Tomorrow the people of Caledonia and Loago will turn towards the ballot boxes and will vote their future government. The elections have been promised by Elia Neven in the aftermath of the Snowdrop Revolution, as the Prometheist League felt it necessary to "freshen" the parliament after the February crisis. While it concentrated more on repairing and maintaining external relations in the aftermath of the fall of the National Union, especially on negotiating with the Kingdom of Gunnland the surrender of Saig Madec, the provisional government, officially dubbed as the Revolutionary Council, has issued a single internal decree, which is revolutionary in itself. The decree, named the Democratic Freedom Edict, states that the number of members and supporters needed to form a political party, has been reduced from 300 to 3. That way, a plethora of political parties have sprung and are now hoping to gather enough support to win a seat in the parliament. While we respect the chances of all parties of Caledonia to win in this elections, we have concentrated on the national organisations which really stand a chance in becoming the leaders of tomorrow.

The Prometheist League
Republican Referendum: The Prometheist League is strongly republican and is the party leading the republican campaign in the referendum. While it respects the royal family's history, the PL stated that should Mael Coluim decide to return to Caledonia, he will do that as a simple citizen, but he would enjoy that state pension offered to previous heads of state and government.
Snowdrop Revolution: The PL has been the leading faction in the revolution and wishes to see the revolutionary process completed with a Lustration trial against National Union leaders.
Loago: The PL supports the independence of Loago to be completed as fast as possible and feels it's colonial past as bringing shame to what the Prometheists call an otherwise clean human rights record.
Foreign Relations: Good relations with both Gunnland, Elben and Kadikistan are a priority for the PL. The party is weary of the NSQT, but calls for it's continuation if it guarantees peace.
Civil Code: The PL calls for the equality of minorities, being them religious, ethnic or sexual. They propose a progressive civil code which encompasses the secularisation of the state, abortions on request, same-sex marriages, the primacy of civil marriage over the religious one and the federation of the state.

The Party of the Left
Republican Referendum: The PotL sees the referendum as a necessary action for the progress of Caledonia and calls its supporters to vote for a republic.
Snowdrop Revolution: While its role in the revolution was important at first, the fact that it had a clear prometheist characteristic afterwards, has left the PotL with a bitter taste. As typical to the Marxist-Leninovist orthodoxy, the PotL calls either for a pure revolution, without social-capitalist elements or for no revolution at all.
Loago: The PotL calls for an immediate end to imperialist Caledonian presence in Loago and for the declaration of the state as a People's Republic under the leadership of Yann Masimba, the General Secretary of the Loagin League of Communists.
Foreign Relations: The PotL calls for realpolitik in foreign relations while also asking for the disbandment of the NSQT and for Caledonia to join the Rurikgrad Pact
Civil Code: The PotL asks for the adoption of the Kadikistani civil code.

The Country Party
Republican Referendum: The Country Party sees itself as a supporter of the monarchy and thus calls it's supporters to vote for the return of the King.
Snowdrop Revolution: The CP sees itself as the greatest victim of Saig Madec and the National Union and thus is supportive of the Snowdrop Revolution as it saved the country of another era of National Syndicalist rule.
Loago: The CP sees Loago not as a colony but as a sister state of Caledonia and calls for keeping the status quo between the two states.
Foreign Relations: The CP wishes to keep the NSQT as a guarantor of peace while also keeping good relations with Gunnland, Elben, Carinthia-Harkany and the Trier Concordat.
Civil Code: The CP will keep the old civil code.

The National Democratic Party
Republican Referendum: The NDP feels that the Kingdom has lost it's legitimacy when the King hasn't stopped Saig Madec organise it's coup and thus calls its supporters to vote for the republic.
Snowdrop Revolution: The NDP is a right-wing party and while it feels that the people had the right to compel the National Union to end it's road to fascism, it still decries the fact that the revolution was organised by leftist groups.
Loago: The NDP calls for the integration of Loago into the Caledonian state.
Foreign Relations: The NDP calls for a military alliance with Carinthia-Harkany, Gunnland and Elben.
Civil Code: The NDP supports the Catholic Church as a national church, is against abortion, homosexuality, going even as far as to ask for all marriages to be done in a Church.
