"We will I am sure be able to match our Ascaloni friends good pledge of 50 Million Dollars.

The concept of a shared currency is an interesting one. Although the idea does have some merit, I worry that the disruption in havershaw might be too great, besides the Volksraad is very unlikely to aprove such a measure.

our concept of economic unity is perhaps a little less drastic, I would like to work further toward trade agreements. Would you, as delegates agree that a preferential trade agreement would help us all. And perhaps a garantee'd trade bond for Jurzan."

"The United Emirates has recently sent the sum of $40 million to Jurzan, the most we can give without specific authorization from Parliament."

"The Emirates agrees fully with the proposal for preferential trade. As said we support the abolition of all duties and tariffs between and the creation of a common market throughout the alliance. While we do not at this time support a common currency we think such a goal could be possible in the future following the economic interdependency created by a common market."

"Before we move on, I believe it is essential to address Ascalon's claim on the Mare di Dio."

"The claims have not been disoputed for some time. The Mare di Dio is an isloated body of water, and is not open freely to any nation that does not border the Mare. The Mare di Dio is treated as a large salt water lake, which it is. It is not illegal to have territorial claims in a lake."

"The Republic is not questioning the legality of such claims. Territorial waters are 10 miles form the coast and then a 200 mile economic exclusion zone. The territory that Ascalon reportedly claims is significantly larger then any other nation and clearly defies the international law set on territorial waters. Hajr, Carentania, and Belmont agree with the Republic on this stance."

"Hajr, Carentania, and Belmont have no say in this matter. If Cenetis wishes to complain then we will listen to it's complaints. But as I said these territorial claims have been enforced for sometime without any public complaints. This is an issue between the nations of the Mare di Dio, and the only ones who have been voicing their dissaproval are ones that have zero affiliation with this salt water lake."

"The Republic will continue to consider the Ascaloni claims as illegitimate. If Ascalon fines any Cenetian or Jurzani vessel, it will be recognized as illegitimate and we will not pay it."

"We are not pleased with Jurzan's 'solution' to this problem. We will not fire on any of the ships or fine them. This will not make our Prime Minister very happy however, so do not expect Ascaloni help in any future problems."

Ms. Abdallah looked into the eyes of the Jurzani representative. She could not hold his steely gaze, and immedeatly she tried to change the subject away from this very touchy one.

"Anyway, now that the economic portions and the military portions have been discussed, shall we discuss the running of the Southern Europe Council shall be run?"

The silence had dragged on to long. Minister Nasir had been well briefed by the United Emirates intelligence agency and he was certain from those briefings, along with their present stances that Jurzan was about to bolt the alliance. Frankly, that bothered him not in the least. Jurzan was proving to have no stomach for the hard work a true alliance would require, and was more of an international charity case than a coherent nation. Just then one of his assistants handed Minister Jurzan a folded piece of paper. It read simply: 'Jurzan demands Ascalon out of SEEDTO or they walk.' Nasir rubbed his beard and looked around the table.

"Given the new political difficulties, I suggest we adjourn this conference until it has been decided what the future make up the alliance will be on a more long term basis."

Mr. van Wyk suddenly felt emptiness in his stomach. He knew that Fulanistan was much closer to Ascalon than to Jurzan. This meant that President al-Otari may not get to see his dream of Himyari unity if the situation between the two countries escalated, as he would most likely support Ascalon.

Nadarejshvili had a smirk on his face. Jurzani Foreign Policy seemed like a cluster of different ideas with no distinct direction, but that was the goal. Unfortunately, the benefits of SEEDTO faded with Ascalon's uncooperative behavior in Mare di Dio. Oil was much more valuable than any SEEDTO Nation.

Although it seemed a cluster, Jurzan was moving in the direction President Khayrat had hoped, Nadarejshvili rose.

"Good day, Gentlemen."

Ms. Abdallah sighed. Being a Uroduah Muslim, she liked living in a nation aligned with a country like Jurzan. However it was foolish to hope that the two could work together. While the mafiaso is making great strides to rule Ascalon, the greedy, selfish, imperialistic bastard son of the Catholic Church still ruled.

"Ascalon wishes to remain. While one member may be leaving the alliance, we all still have things to discuss."

The accords were falling apart, De Kalk would agree to the break in the conference as more could be discussed at a later date

I think we would all benefit from some respite. If i can help with anything at all, please let me go
