"We all remember how my beloved husband and our first emperor was raked over the coals, dare I say crucified. For modernizing our armed forces. He labored extensively for Justosia and Vanguardia. His sacrifices laid the bridge for the domestic renaissance I announce here today. My priorities are infrastructure, education, and social programs.

I deem the collection of tiny roads and back routes insufficient and unbecoming of a nation that bills itself both first world and an empire. I am calling on this body to pass an amendment to the current budget allocating the majority of tax revenue from the last fiscal quarter towards the construction of a new national freeway system. To begin as soon as logistics allow.

Our education system is in need of a legislative overhaul. I am directing the education branch of the Interior Ministry to immediately conduct stricter investigations of every public school & greater system in the empire.

Furthermore, I declare and am directing the Foreign Ministry to immediately adopt a policy of general neutrality subject to strategic overviews."

• Queen announces no confidence in government as the two nationalist senators who walked out of her maiden address early abruptly resign. The general malaise over this spilt government continues.

• According to a new Avalon University poll, 60% of registered voters are fed up with the split Imperial Senate. They decry the general malaise spawned from it. Since the last election, the Prime Minister has decided, through his tie breaker vote, 54% of recently passed legislation. All in favor of his Nationalist Right Bloc party.

• Justosian two party system on the verge of collapse as 3 new political parties file foundation papers with Interior Ministry.

Empire:

• Polling precincts, stations, etc rising up fast in Vanguardia & Victoria Island.

Weather:

• Unseasonably brisk 15 degrees C today in mainland Justosia. 14 degrees C in Victoria Island. Some citizens in northern Avalon spotted in heavy coats. 12 degrees C in Vanguardia.

• Long lines across the empire as new elections are held to found the Second Imperial Senate & for a handful of District Governorships. First elections after the landmark final legislation of the preceeding First Imperial Senate legalizing conventional Socialist & Communist political activity. Prominent politicos are keeping a close eye on the Socialist Party of Justosia turnout especially.

• Prime Minister Jean Blount, Justosia's first mixed ethnicity premier, called for "calm, dignified, and respectful" voting empire wide. The PM himself is not up for reelection.

• This is the first time citizens in the territories of Vanguardia & Victoria Island are voting.

Foreign Policy:

• Tyskonian royal visit to Justosia & subsequent treaty negotiations continue with the PM & Palace Press Minister giving them rave reviews. Forward embassy staff arriving in Pelasgia, @Lars, & @Eiffeland.

The Aurarine Republic extends wishes of goodwill to the people of Justosia on the outcome of the recent Senate elections in the Empire. The Nationalist Bloc’s victory and Senator Reyes’ retention of power was bestowed upon it by the people of the Empire and it is now the duty of Senator Reyes to use his talents and abilities to the best service of the Justos people. May he be gifted enough to government under the mandate of the majority without disparaging the near half of the country that voted for another leader.

In addition to the wishes of goodwill, it is the hope of the Republic that you will pass on President Ordenes’ personal wish of goodwill to Empress Annabella Sofia Francisco I. While the circumstances of her ascension to the throne were less than ideal, considering her husband’s illness, she has nevertheless taken the daunting task of leadership and it is the hope of the Republic that she will do her people fine justice.
