The sun was setting over Sharjah; the sky turned an awesome shade of orange for the time being. Sharjah was especially cold at night, it could be unbearably hot in the day and freezing at night, this night seemed like it would be relatively warm.

A group of men were situated in Karimi's personal study. The room was a dark green color scheme with a circle of brown, leather chairs in the middle. In those chairs sat Riaz Karimi, President Nadarejshvili, General Ashraf Arman, General Delbar Achakzai, Admiral Faryardi Sherdai, Representative Ayran Khalilzad, War Secretary Irfan Hotaki, Representative Karnel Tarzi, Representative Nazia Sayyah, Director of Security Nasrullah Zakhilwal, and Chief Honor Shuja Durrani.

Karimi looked at Representative Khalilzad and said “we need to consider the possibility that Rangeela may defeat you. I don’t think that we can convince Ahmadzai to side with us and Rangeela will appeal more to them and the conservatives, that’s all he needs to gain the presidency.”

"I think I can sway them, promising to step up the efforts of the Development Committees and a more Islamic orientated legislation program should be sufficient," Khalilzad replied.

"I don't care for the word 'should.' In this game, nothing 'should be' it must just be. I will not stand for Rangeela becoming the President. I think we must consider assassination," Karimi stated.

Ashraf Arman, a little shocked, looked to Karimi "My Chancellor, how does one justify assassination?"

"General Arman, you must see what is necessary to maintain political power. We cannot allow the other parties to destroy the work we've accomplished," General Achakzai replied.

"Thank you, General," Karimi looked to Arman "We have put too much work into this country to let everything we’ve done fall to the same political bicker that has enslaved other democracies. There's a reason we military men only answer to ourselves. Democracy is wonderful on the diminutive issues, however the larger, long term decisions need to be made by people who aren't so clouded by so called 'morality.'"

“None of this would have been an issue if Nadarejshvili didn’t fail to maintain the NDP,” said Representative Sayyah, staring intently at Nadarejshvili, who was noticeably uninterested.

“That break was inevitable. We will destroy the dissenting parties,” Karimi intervened “First, we need to secure the presidency; we do that through eliminating the JUP’s strongest voice.”

“What do you suggest, Chancellor,” said Nadarejshvili quietly.

“A week before the election, Director Zakhilwal will deliver to us the security details for Representative Khalilzad’s protection. Then, we get one of our lunatics to shoot Khalilzad, not kill, just injure. While he shoots him, we must get him to scream ‘long live Abkhaz, long live Rangeela, long live meritocracy!’ at which point Director Zakhilwal will detain Rangeela for suspicion of treason. We dig up some dirt, we execute him. It’s simple,” declared Karimi.

“The outcry against Rangeela and the JUP will solidify the ASP’s position in politics as the party to protect us from the JUP. We then systematically take out each JUP Representative one by one. After that, special elections are held to where the ASP will win more and more seats until we obtain a 51% majority once again,” Zakhilwal said “We need the ASP to become Jurzan’s Vanguard Party.”

“Once the dirty work is complete, we pass a resolution to ban other political parties, maybe cause a panic or two to align people more to the country,” Karimi added.

“We could use a national distraction, to further justify the consolidation of power,” general Arman said.

“We could consider Havenshire’s proposal,” Sayyah suggested.

“Let this meeting end for now,” Karimi stated, standing, the others immediately rose after him. “It is unnecessary to decide the future of foreign policy in this nation on one night.”

Khalilzad and the others left the meeting, he was thinking how much it would hurt to be hit with a bullet, but it was for the greater good of the country for him to do so, so he began fantasying about the hospital treatments and get well cards.
