HRH's Government of Strathclyde

With the tragic loss of life in the Claret Sea with the death toll expected to go higher at time of writing alongside the Sturmvogel hijacking in April. This government more than ever believe all nations nor matter of their creed should come together to discuss the important issues of safety and security that affect the maritime industry. The primary aim of this conference is to argee on a bare minimum standard that all major maritime nations have on the training of ships' crew and contractors, the general safety in the ship's working environment and use of life saving equipment.

We believe the only way to prevent further needless deaths at sea is to have a formation of a non-partisan international agency to regulate the international maritime industry.

The conference secondary aim is to foster greater discussion and cooperation between different state security agencies and private sector partners on the issues of human trafficking, smuggling and the threat of piracy.

The deadline for interested parties to reply to the invitation is 22nd of May 2020.

The conference will be held in Strathclyde's second city and capital of Sutherland Bridgeport, the date shall be announced soon.

Foreign & Trade Secretary Taran Moyle,MSE

Communique from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
We share the concern that Strathclyde and many other nations have over the continued safety of maritime activities following recent incidents in the Claret Sea that have underscored the danger that still exists for trade and tourism in Europe's oceans. It is necessary for the international community to come together to establish minimum standards for the maritime industry to prevent future tragedies and protect international trade from piracy and other threats. As such, I am accepting the invitation that has been put forward by the government of Strathclyde on behalf of the Eserian government and hope to lead a delegation to this conference once a final date has been set. I look forward to having a productive discussion over maritime safety and have the highest hopes that we will reach an agreement that will provide the maritime industry with the oversight it sorely requires while fostering closer cooperation with all parties involved on the list of related issues set forth in the invitation.

Signed,
Robert Hamilton
Minister of Foreign Affairs

Maritime Nedernesia

The Nedernesian flag is proudly flown on ships across the world and is a common sight among sailors near and far. Maritime trade is the lifeblood of any country, but particularly for ours. We therefore find it appropriate that certain issues regarding safety and security at sea be set to international standards, or at least communication of these issues be made more expedient and fluid. That said, we would not want this to turn into a body that attempts to govern how ships are operated beyond basic safety principles.

We shall send a delegation to neighbouring Bridgeport with open ears.

As a civilised nation, the Apostolic Kingdom of Virumaa fully supports this endeavour, as we observe how in the last weeks, the Long Sea, known as the Claret Sea in some circles, has been the witness of a series of disasters and tragedies that have taken too many lives too soon and have left behind too many suffering. We believe that the nations of the world should come together and make not only the Long Sea, but the world seas more peaceful and safe for everyone, by adopting a series of standardised security and safety measures and by enhancing cooperation, communication and solidarity, thus giving no leeway to malignant elements such as pirates and terrorists, while working together to save lives in case of natural catastrophes.
For this, the Apostolic Kingdom will be a part of this international conference and will be present in Bridgeport.
Signed and Sealed,
Einarr Sisask

The unification of Eiffelland and Retalia made quite a lot of diplomats jobless, simply because Eiffelland-Retalia did not need two ambassadors in each country. The older diplomats received early retirement, but remained more or less active to represent Eiffelland-Retalia at conferences.

The 60 year old Didier Lafite was such an elder diplomat. Now he led the Eiffelloretalian delegation to the Conference on Maritime Safety and Security. Sitting in Eiffelland-Retalia's newest government plane, an , he flew to Strathclyde for the Conference on Maritime Safety and Security.

The plane model Ibis did not have a really good start, because of a design problem in the battery packs. Those problems were solved quickly and swiftly already in 2019. The plane was safe to fly again. The government of Eiffelland-Retalia was one of the first customers, partly as marketing act for the Eiffelloretalian aircraft industry.

The Republique Populaire shall attend such a conference and will be keen to discuss the matter of international maritime trade and address ongoing issues, especially in the wake of recent happenings in the Claret Sea.
