OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - ΕΠΙΣΗΜΟ ΑΝΑΚOIΝΩΘΕΝ

Upon witnessing the crisis due tor the Worker's Republic of Carentania's illegal threat to close the Long Sea, a sea of international waters that Carentania gas no sovereign or nor legal authority over, to Imperial Sikandaran shipping so as to further her own political and diplomatic goals the Ionian Confederation proposed the establishment of an International Council of Trade and Commerce to peacefully resolve such situations and ensure no more of them appear n the future as well as to encourage international trade. Seeing the immense international support for such a move the Inaction Confederacy hereby announces the establishment of the International Council of Trade and Commerce, an international organization with membership not only offered but also encouraged to all nations. Ionia offers Algolis as a neutral ground for the Council's first meeting to take place but new member states may choose a different location, with a majority vote, strongly reinforcing the Council's democratic and egalitarian nature. In this meeting all participating states will take part in drafting a charter for the International Council of trade and Commerce and after that they will then formally announce its creation.

While the Republic of Asylan appreciates Ionia's dedcation to this issue, this cannot be solved by simply "creating" a new organization and saying it is done. This organization must be discussed between all states in Europe in order to create these laws before any organization can be developed. Until a conference can be called for a charter to be drawn up for this organization Asylan cannot join, especially when only a small selection of nations were asked to join such an organization. The Republic of Cathiopia is disappointed to not have been invited to the proposed International Council of Trade and Commerce. As a major regional economy in Himyar, with economic links across the Thaumantic, we cannot fathom why Ionia would chose to exclude Cathiopia.

We believe there has been a misunderstanding. All states are invited to join the process to create the International Council of Trade and Commerce. A charter has't been drafted yet we were simply inviting everyone interested to join us in Algolis or any other city so that we can draft that charter. We also didn't mean to exclude any nation. We believed it was clear that all nations were invited and encouraged to join the Council. We simply highlighted the names of the nations that had actively shown support to our proposal. So as to not see this misunderstanding reoccur we will appropriately modify our statement.

At this time, due to the ongoing revolution within our borders, we must decline this invitation to take part in the first meeting of a potential International Council of Trade and Commerce. We thank the government of the Ionian Confederacy for their invitation and wish them the best of luck in their diplomatic endeavors.

The Continental Republic of Sylvania has no interest in being dragged into petty disputes over control of the Long Sea and we will not be drawn into another organization which will most likely rely, like a parasite, on the strength of nations such as Sylvania. We suggest to the people and governments of Sikandara, Ionia and the like that they deal with their own regional problems rather than attempt to trick stronger nations and organizations into doing your dirty work. We shall recommend to our allies in the Tripartite Agreement to reject the notion of an international trade commission.

Carentania is worried by the increasing international support for Sikandari belligerence, that comes dressed in the mantle or "protecting the freedom of the high seas". Sikandara is supporting a government that is waging war against both its own people and those of Carentania and the Workers' Republic has every right to use the means of naval blockade to sanction belligerent acts against its own people and those of allied states.

We refuse to recognize this council or any of its future decisions and warn Europe not to get involved in a frontier organization of Sikandari imperialism.
