(FEN) Sivistyksen Puolustus (English: The Defense of Civilization) by Fleet Admiral Aleksi Sumuvuori - Non-fiction - The former Governor-General of the Protected Territories and the current head of the Fennian Navy details his six years as the senior administrator in the Fennian Himyari territories, and provides a broader outlook of the colonial policies implemented by nations including Saaremaa, Frescania, Danmark and Ivernia. Using these examples and Himyarite history, Fleet Admiral Sumuvuori argues for the continued relevance of the "white man's burden" and for the necessity of continued involvement of colonial powers in Himyar as a guarantee of peace, order and social advancement in the continent. Originally published in Fennian. Now published in Austwegian, English, Ivernian, Frescanian, Potenzan, Saaremaan and Suionian.

[FEN) Kansakuntamme Synty (English: Birth of Our Nation) by Johannes Mäki - Non-fiction - Union Congressman and National Unity Front Party Secretary Mäki responds to the Malminmaa-Vesterålen territorial disputes by a look at the history and the politics between the Fennian and Norse nations, discussing older conflicts and the Fennian-Agder War and its consequences as well as the state of the Fennian community in Malminmaa. Applying the term "the Perfidious Norseman", Mäki claims that the ongoing diplomatic conflict between Fennian and Auswegian governments is just a continuation of historical Norse tendencies of a "drive to the South" and continued attempts to prevent the formation of an unified Fennian state and to enslave the Fennians as the subjects of various Norse governments, and presents the Norse as the historical enemies of the Fennian people. Originally published in Fennian. Now published in Austwegian, English, Ivernian, Frescanian, Potenzan, Saami, Saaremaan, Suionian and Swiczieman.

(FEN) Professor Järvi ja Tuomion Temppeli (English: Professor Järvi and the Temple of Doom) by Ahti Anttila - Fiction - The latest hit pulp adventure novel by popular writer Ahti Anttila presents a new hero, an University of Kalevala archaeologist who engages in various sorts of dangerous expeditions in search of ancient relics, battling foreign spies, hostile tribesmen and greedy treasure-robbers. The Temple of Doom takes Professor Järvi to the Protected Territories in search for the mythic Temple of Doom of an ancient Swana civilization, where he encounters Carentanian spies attempting to locate the temple and siphon its power for themselves in the quest of Communist world conquest. Järvi must beat the Carentanians and their local henchmen in the race to the Temple, and stop his foes from reaching their goal. Originally published in Fennian. Now published in Austwegian, English, Ivernian, Potenzan, Saami, Saaremaan and Suionian.

(IVR) An Owl amongst the Eagles By Wakahisa Yoshio - Fiction - An allegorical novella represented by a Clan of Eagles living in a forest being visited by an Owl. ''At first the Owl lives among the Eagles and lives and learns by their ways and traditions. But then the Owl begins to ask questions about their system and gives advice on ways to improve it. At the head of the Clan of Eagles is a large beautiful Eagle with crimson feathers who grows frustrated by the Owl and attempts to silence him. The snow white Owl make plans to lead the Eagles to meet their destiny.''
At first it was thought to be a simple childrens book like so many childrens books released for the summer holidays, however analysists have said it is actually a metaphor for ''Post-Delegationism,'' and as such the book has now gained an adult readership. Originally Published in Ivernish and Oikawan. German Publication was said to be upcoming.

(POT) Against Leviathan, by Enzo Bettiza - Fiction. A Havenshire submarine commander goes AWOL, striking at another Havenshire ship and then disappearing, last seen heading towards Potenza. The last known contact with the sub was a radio message from the captain, quoting Job 41:1-8, ending with: "Lay your hands on him; remember the battle—you will not do it again...I am Leviathan!" The Havenshire government contacts the Potenzan government and asks them to cooperate in the sinking of the submarine, declaring the captain to be a menace to the region. Meanwhile, a Potenzan destroyer is returning to the Grand Duchy when it receives orders to hunt the sub. The crew realizes that the sub has picked up the message, and the book covers a mad cat-and-mouse game between the destroyer and the unseen sub. It's eventually revealed that the Havenshire captain and crew are defectors, and the conflict becomes one of whether or not the destroyer should carry out its orders, or create a possible international row. Originally published in Tiburan. Now availabe in Austwegian, English, Frescanian, and Ivernian.

(HAV) We Who Have Eyes Do See, by Samuel Cotter - Fiction. A multi-generational novel about a family of manorial groundskeepers, the Pottswells, in rural Havenshire, and their role as silent observers over sixty years of dramatic change in their country. The story weaves together stories of growing up, toiling under unfair conditions, love, marriage, having children, seeing their growth, death, all against the changing seasons and the steady rythym of manorial life, which quickens and dies as social and political upheavals leave the grandson an itinerant wanderer, whose travels allow him to see the widespread cost of rampant industrialisation and its brutality in the hands of capitalists and lords appointed by an uncaring monarch. The Novel attempts to document the transformation of Havenshire's rural working class from a subaltern class of observers into active participants in their own fate through microcosm, with mixed results. Critics praise its ambition and scope, but find that it is somewhat overreaching, and the segments about the quiet rural life of yesteryear wax a little too nostalgic. Originally published in English, now available in Carentanian, Ivernian, An Lyric and Tiburan.

(CAR) Neroden (English: Misfit) by Lara Vidmar - Fiction - In her bestselling debut, Lara Vidmar describes the adventurous life on the road of young runaway Pavel. This coming-of-age story has been publically criticised for its coarse language, its offensive use of slurs and slang. It has also distinguished Lara Vidmar as member of a young avantgarde of Carentanian authors, capturing the spirit of Carentanias rebellious youth.

(CAR) Kapitan Zvezd Zorko in Republiko Aldebaran (English: Star Captain Zorko and the Aldebaran Republic) by Anton Turk - Fiction - The latest in the bestselling series of sci-fi pulp novels bring famed Star Captain Zorko, defender of the Socialist World Republic, to the star of Aldebaran, whose peaceful planet is threatened by an imperialist race of aliens. Can Zorko prevent the Aldebaranians from being enslaved by the attackers?

(CAR) Nasprotno Raso (English: The Other Race) by Mikhail Fras - Non-Fiction - Jewish sociologist Mikhail Fras attempts to examine the nature of anti-semitism and formulates the theory that "the jew" is irrationally perceived by antisemites as "the completely other", an embodiment of everything that is bad about modernity. His studies conclude with the dramatic warning that inherent in all antisemitic thought is a genocidal tendency, a desire to cleanse the world from the jewish people that has repeatedly manifested itself in pogroms against jewish populations. Stirred controversy within Carentania for its insistence that antisemitism is as present in socialist countries as it is in capitalist ones.

(SWI) Anastazy by Cibor Kurbiel. - Fiction. A semi-fictional biography of the celebrated Sarmatian Saint, Anastazy Jakowski. This well-researched work covers the period from his early life as a young student in Czempin, up to the publishing of his Seven Theses that resurrected the concept of the Sarmatian Identity. In between, it details a drama between he and his closest friend, a Sister Jolanta, who is only rarely mentioned in his memoirs. Kurbiel explores the conflicts between Anastazy's desire to follow God, and his own human nature, and how the former ultimately triumphs for the better. Originally published in Swieczieman. Now available in English, French, Ivernish, and Tiburan.

Now available in An Lyric, English, German, Ivernish, and Touzenese.

(SAM) Ofelaseij (Eng. The Pathfinders) by Mikkel Kvitfjell - Fiction - The Pathfinder, Kvitfjell's first full-length novel, is a tour-de-force of surrealist fiction, combining traditional Saami spirituality and modern psychology in a stream of consciousness narrative. Set during the onset of winter in war-torn 1750s Saamiland, the story's unnamed narrator fights to return to his family's home from a raid deep into northern Saaremaa. Separated from his party, and with the days of 24-hour darkness fast approaching, he struggles on through the deserted countryside while at nights he begins to have strange dreams of Saido, the Saami spiritual world. As the long darkness finally falls and the weather turns, the distinction between these two worlds begins to blur. Ultimately, he manages to return his home, but it may not be what he was searching for after-all... Published in English, Fennian, Ivernish, and Saami. Planned publication in French, German, Saaremaan, Sikandari, and Suionian for 1954.

(SAM) Tracks in the Snow, and other poems by Lejaa Gevvalii - Fiction - Classic Saami poetess Lejaa Gevvalii continues to amaze with her smooth, rhythmic style in this latest collection of poems. Originally published by Aanaari University Press in 1952, the collection won the university's National Award for Excellence in Poetry/Prose that year. Originally published in Saami, now published in English, Fennian, Ivernish, and Saaremaan.

(SAM) A Critique of the Political Economy by Gealbu Haetta - Non-Fiction - Professor Haetta's latest economic treatise is a critical look at the principles of the free market, particularly at the social and political implications which deregulated capitalism has for a nation's citizenry. While regarded as rather shocking even among the Saami academic community, the work does not advocate Communism of Post-Delegationism, but rather is a defense of state intervention and regulation. Published in English, German, and Saami.

(HAV) Invigilator Soames by Alfred Winters - Fiction - A compilation of classic short detective stories about the eccentric and brilliant Invigilator Soames. A former preist, Soames uses the socratic method and the arguement techniques he learned at a now-closed down Theological College to determine the mindsets and motives of the suspects, and whittle down the possibilities through a clear understanding of what drives people. Soames is wildly popular, though has its detractors for his controversial background, and emphasis on pseudo-psychiatrics as a method of solving crime.
Available in English, Carentanian and now French.

(HAV)Havenshire: The Pirate Power 1640-1720 by Dr Harriet Reed - Non-Fiction - A historical overview of the rise and fall of the Principality of Havenshire as a trans-oceanic power in early modern Europe, and how the use of letters of marque and the grey legal status of the "distant oceans" of the Implarian and the Southern Himyar Ocean enabled Havenshire to develop a substantial maritime middle-class, who in turn turned legitimate, investing their parasitically accquired wealth into legitimate trade with Breotonian firms, compelling them to also support anti-privateer and anti-pirate measures internationally, leading to the end of Havenshire's brief period of notoriety and even, eventually, its economic and maritime independence, falling into the broader sphere of Engellexic and Breotonian maritime economic hegemony.
Available in English, French, German and Carentanian.

(POT) Flowers for My Beloved by Alberto Dioli - Fiction - A young, struggling businessman discovers that his wife is suffering from a rare mental disorder, and is told that it will gradually worsen. At first, much of the conflict centers around him having to cope with this tragic turn of events, watching as his wife begins to act somewhat irrational and becoming more and more like a little child. By the end of the book, she is virtually unable to take care of herself without adult supervision. These personal struggles grow into moral issues, as the husband finds it more and more tempting to either abandon his wife or commit adultery. The book ends with the husband eventually spurning the advances of another woman and returning to his wife, cuddling up with her in bed as she passes away in his arms. Originally published in Tiburan. Now available in English, Frescanian, German, French, Fennian and Austwegian.

(POT) Monarchism Triumphant by His Royal Highness Count Niccolo di Grimaldi - Non-Fiction - In his latest political book, the Potenzan Count of Turin discusses the growing anti-monarchical trend throughout Europe, analyzing the various methods in which monarchs were removed from power, or the efforts of monarchism were fought against. His argument is that communism and "total democracy" can only come about through force of arms against the will of the state, and concludes in the end that monarchism will survive despite all intents and purposes of anti-monarchical forces. Originally published in Tiburan. Now available in English, Frescanian, German, French, Fennian and Austwegian.
