Do the Jews have an equivalent in this world?
Yes, the Jews.
I just wanted to say that I love the way this title sounds, also I would imagine that the Jews would exist in some capacity. I don't know if they go under a different name, like Yiddish (Trivodnia knows more about this than I do,) or whatever.
Chernovy was a prominent home for Jewry historically, though not Ashkenazim, Sephardim or Mizrahi. The largest group were called Morskiye yevrey, or Sea Jews, by their neighbors (and largely to history and the rest of the world), and Juvuro/-im by their own account and are based on the rl historical Mountain Jews of the Caucasus - Azerbaijan, Chechnya, Dagestan and Ingushetia. Beyond being Morskiye yevrey instead of Gorskiy yevrey, and having a maritime culture instead of equestrian, their religious practices and supposed antiquity in particular are identical to the real life inspiration. There was a two-tiered system for rabbis, and quite a bit of "mysticism," the Kabbalah etc. As noted though, this is largely historical, they fled the country in huge numbers throughout the first three decades of the 20th Century (two particularly nasty Marxist insurrections/pogroms in 1902 and 1921)- the lion's share of that number to Trivodnia (where I think Norse says they've mostly assimilated with the other populations), Pelasgia and (likely, not particularly confirmed) the Socialist World Republic, SoCRER and Touzen.
There is still something of a Jewish relic in modern Chernovy, albeit in the form of a Jewish-Manichean sect mostly concentrated on the margins and literal borders of the nation (the Touyou'an Qissarim).
I didn't go further in that question, but there's an important Yiddish minority in my country.
