The petroleum industry in the Kadikistani Union is one of the largest in the world. It has significant coal reserves, holds one of the largest oil reserves, and is one of the the largest producers of oil. In 1955 Kadikistan produced a little over 400 million barrels of oil. It produces a large percentage of the world's oil. Every year the production of oil as well as Kadikistani reserves grow steadily. This regardless of the fact that Kadikistan's domestic demand is increasing in an above-average rate, with besides the military being a tremendous consumer is also faced with a growing middle-class. It was estimated that all branches of the military together consumed over 30% of the nation's oil.
Kadikistan State Petroleum has always attempted bring its surplus production onto external markets, but until the 1950s their products where considered of mediocre quality and unreliable. Since Nikolai Leninov became the leader of Kadikistan the State has massively invested in modernising and industrializing the nation's oil production and processing. Since 1950 Kadikistan State Petroleum has steadily increased its international reputation. Oil is the All-Union primary export product next to other energy sources like coal and gas.
