♞ L’AMI DU PEUPLE
This publication is based on letters, articles, or comments from the common people of the Petits-Pays and the world. L’Ami du peuple (ENG: Friend of the People) will publish the most interesting or curious items submitted to it. Typically published works comes from those who are part of the academic or political class; however, mysterious commoners have been known to give interesting material as well. The newspaper was founded in 1780 and originally published with short eight page editions available for public consumption to advocate the formation of the Republic in the Petits-Pays. Having been banned on and off again through out the 18th century, L’Ami du peuple has enjoyed continuous uninterrupted publishing since 1878 and now finds itself with a more worldly audience as the Empire has grown and travel and transportation become more frequent. We are pleased to be a featured newspaper onboard Compagnie royal d’aviation and Aérotaxi as well as available on all passenger lines leaving port from the Petits-Pays. Today headquartered in the Ier arrondissement of Le Vieux-Bourg, our newspaper is more oriented towards publishing the pulse of the people rather than advocating any particular political viewpoint. We accept all material mailed to our offices for publishing, and can recommend using Aéropostale or Postes, télégraphes et téléphones (Petits-Pays PTT) for transmission via letter, telegraph, or now telephone.

Dear friends of the people,

We cannot in good conscience believe in a future of travel using the highly flammable gas of hydrogen can we? The latest from Implaria suggests that hydrogen Zeppelin Airship travel is the future. Meanwhile our steadfast allies in Eiffelland do not believe in this method of travel. They believe that helium is the future. The problem of course is finding helium. As a result I cannot believe that this city should invest in an “Airship Field” and believe far more in the Air Fields used for the aeroplanes that our country seems to be rapidly accepting.

Hi there,

Are the youths getting more ignorant elsewhere too, or is it just in Implaria? Even working class kids these days seem to have swallowed this stupid idea that you aren't something unless you've been to college. Now the socialist youths wants the state to pay for college. Are they daft? There will never be any significant amount of working class people granted access to the 'institutions of higher learning', as they are called as if learning how to craft a lock or how to assemble a clock with your hands is 'low learning'. All their demands, if implemented, will amount to is that working class people will subsidize the education of bourgeoise children even further. It's a scam and the last people advocating for it should be the socialists.

TITLE: Useless rhetoric

Dear voters,

I have just been to a political assembly organised by the Hippos, at the Equatorial University in Harton, where the main Hippo candidate, Curtis Stone, has called for the reform of the electoral franchise. To be honest, I feel that both the Hyenas and the Hippos are being a bit too far away from the realities of the Natalian people, not only coloured or Nethians. They are wrongly asking for all sorts of political reforms to present themselves as progressive and liberal, when in reality, much of the Natalian electorate or even citizens whom have no right to vote don't really care about that, but rather about their chances of having a decent life and to earn a decent amount of cash. The politicians have become too attracted by all those philosophical discussions on what voting is, and forget that one needs to be very pragmatic in real life. I for one call for pragmatism. I want economic reforms, not voting reforms with no real effects.

Dear reader,

I am writing this letter hoping that you are in a better position than mine. The war between brothers seems to have ended in the best way for both sides. The vote seems to give an overwhelming result, and indeed, several local newspapers even speak of a plebescite as a result. But I cannot get out of my mind the soldiers who defended the Pope, allowing them to flee safely abroad. They sacrificed their body and spirit for the cause they believed in, if they were on the side of the reformist army, now we would be inaugurating statues in their honor and herring crowds in the square with their heroic deeds. Instead they are traitors to the people and their choice affects families, guilty of having raised an enemy of the country. Will this new nation ever stand the tests of time if its foundations are made of hatred towards its brothers?

Dear friends of the people,

While of course there is only an imposter papacy attached to the Remion, their rejection of the false Papacy has paved the way for peace in Gallia. As Remion fights to make a new nation can may call itself great again, we must not forget that a second Great War is always potentially around the corner if we do not work against the forces that would demand it: namely, those who did not reap the fruits of victory. We must support Remion’s rejection of the Papal States and assure its access to the sea. A healthy people of the Tiburan valleys will be an asset to a new era of Pax Gallia.
