LIGA DE LAS REPÚBLICAS | LEAGUE OF REPUBLICS​

The Mission
The Liga de las Repúblicas (henceforth to be referred to as the League of Republics) is a political association of states mirrored after the Association of Monarchist States, with the goal to bring together republics and to advance the goals of republicanism. The League is open to all republics, be them liberal democracies, socialist states, Post-Delegationist anti-states, integralist states, or even constitutional monarchies with primarily ceremonial monarchs, with the main goal being to provide for an environment where the cause of republicanism is forwarded in theory, philosophy but also in practice.

The League is set to function as a forum bringing together republican states to discuss and debate the issues that threaten the republics and to provide for a communication channel, promoting cooperation. It is not a military not an economic alliance. There are no membership levels, all are full members, but the position of observers is open to everyone. Besides its main forum, the League of Republics also promotes and sponsors a series of think tanks and NGOs, the most significant being Casa de la Libertad, which indexes the freedom levels of the member states and the larger world, but also a series of publishing houses.

The Association is headquartered in Palmira, the Grand Archipelagic Republic of San José, with the League functioning under Presidential Decree #23/01.02.2022, which donated the Castro House in Palmira to function as the Headquarters of the League and its associated organisations and provided for an initial budget.

Associated Organisations
Casa de la Libertad: Organisation advocating on freedom, liberty and democracy. Publishes a seasonal index of levels of democracy.
Editorial República: Publishing house catering to political science works.
Fundación Castro: Thinktank promoting republican, meritocratic and technocratic values.

Leadership and Officers
The organisation has no official leaders, general secretaries or anything else. There are two positions worthy of mentioning, the Moderator, who opens and closes sessions in the Republican Forum and the Treasurer, dealing with the finances of the League. Both positions are now held on an interim basis, but after official elections they will be kept for one year until new elections take place.

OOC: Given the shift of Ovi's nation from Republican Deira to Constitutional Monarchy Beira, we both agreed it made more sense for San José to found and host this organization.

We rejoice in this republican initiative from the Sollegan West and wish its primary intentions the best, however we disagree and condemn any such inclusion of the Post-Delegationist (PD) element. PD is a running excuse for chaos and unaccountable fly by night governance! No legitimate state would enter into agreement with a so-called Anti-State unless it was to forward the goals of Global Exploitation or to push pieces on the chessboard with Christian and global peoples lives.

Nieveland would gladly partner with the world's republics in finding a sensibly regulated and elected world view, but we will not enjoin with political pranks or the anti-social egoists that comprise PD theory.

 

[Radilo]

His Serenity, Doge Clemente III, on behalf of the people of Radilo, who, since 697 AD, are citizens of Europe's longest lived republic, happily submits our application for full membership in this League. As we wish to reinforce the virtues of democracy and self-determination across the world.

Long live liberty, and long live the Most Serene.

Having reviewed the applications, we are honored to acknowledge and accept the People's State of Gran-Occidentia and the Most Serene Republic of Radilo as full members of the League of Republics. Their contributions, both past and present to the cause of spreading democracy and freedom to the peoples of Europe, is commendable and brings hope of a brighter future.

As to the objections of the Poblachd Shòisealach Nìomh, we strenuously disagree with their assessment of their perceived detriment post-delegationism has on the cause of republicanism throughout Europe, and are thoroughly disappointed this objection will prevent their membership in our noble cause. All states opposed to absolutism, autocracy, and tyranny in the hands of the Global Exploitation Conspiracy are welcome to our noble cause, and to be opposed on principle is only doing the work of the Global Exploitation Conspiracy by sowing division, disagreement, and distrust amongst the ranks of the righteous. We pray that sense returns to the Nievelandians and they reconsider their objections and reluctance to join our organization.

Ministro Liao Jianhong,

Having carefully reviewed the application, we are honored to acknowledge and accept the Republic of Tianlong as an observer member of the League of Republics.

We are confident that, with the passage of time, the people of Tianlong will see the need to contribute more readily to the protection of republicanism and democratic ideals from those who would rather Europe retreat to the autocratic, imperialist age of absolutism and divine right to rule.
