I've been playing with flags for a while now, so I'll see what I can do, Breo, especisally seeing how I cam up with the idea for Arthurian Imagery. You care if I use White/Black/Grey? Those seem to me like obvious colors of a totalitarian dictatorship.

A bunch of flags and a banner. I'm not sure how I feel about the banner. It incorporates four different pictures that reflect, war, transportation, industry and culture. It is worth noting that the middle two that are mentioned are noticeable unless you are looking carefully. Despite this, I went in with the purpose to incorporate four images, I'm not sure if I'm too happy with how it looks. Well, more that I think it looks fine, but I don't consider it iconic or as some of my best work. SO... what this means, if if you are a little displeased with it, I'll begin work on a second one. Perhaps even tomorrow.

Well first let me say that I really really like flag #5 and will be adopting that as the new one (so if you have a larger version that would be superb)


I also really like what you did with the signature, but if possible would love to have a few modifications:
1. in general more contrast and color (preferably a deep blue, like in the flag). In particular I'd love for the symbol to 'pop' a little bit more
2. also perhaps a different font? sorry i know I'm being totally vague about this, and maybe I'll go through a few and see if I could fine some specific fonts to give you... If it could also say "Le République du Mergogne" vs. just Mergogne that'd be awesome as well (not sure if I mentioned that before)
3. could the dimensions possibly be longer and thinner (closer to what I have now) if it's not too much trouble. i'm going to need to fit a bit of text under there

So some suggestions...

1.)

I like this first one the least. It was rather USAF inspired initially and frankly I don't feel it should be a national flag. Perhaps make it your aircraft roundel instead.

2.)

I feel this flag is the next evolution of the previous one. It's extremely basic, but very functional. It was rather imagined as something that would be easy to create in the wake of crisis or something.

3.)

This here is a throw back to an old era. Anyone who has been on this forum long enough knows that a flag like this was once my own. This one has variations from my original design, as of course I wouldn't let someone else use my former flag for a by-gone nation. Changes include the number of stars, the order of the colors and the proportions. I feel it's a solid design, but could use some tweaks. I feel the usage of the stars gives it a very "new world" kind of feel, and perhaps appropriate for a "New" France.

4.)

This here also has hints of colonialism as I believe the usage of an image in the canton suggests prior possession. I believe this flag would work well also for something that suggests a "New" France.

5.)

This one is more... French Revolution inspired, with the suggestion of the royalty and or the empire. It's quite basic as well and uses traditional colors for Paris. Yet it's clean in that approach.

Now... I suppose it's worth saying all of these maintain the traditional colors for Paris. Why? Because you didn't leave much direction other than something French and your leader's name is Bonaparte which suggests a particular era of French history you appeared interested in. All of these designs can be tinkered with and once we finalize a design, I can then clean it up and create various clean sizes for you to pick from. If you aren't impressed with any of them, I can start from scratch again, or you'll have to provide more direction.

...additionally, I welcome others to the task if they feel they can come up with good ideas as well.

I could, but you need to give me images that aren't copyrighted. All my work these days uses images that are free to use and follow digital copyright laws, etc, etc. If you need help finding non-copyrighted sources... ask and I shall help you.

"Mild Soviet theme" can be as little as red and gold coloration and that'll be fine with me. I'd go into more detail on the theme I had in my mind but I wanted to see if anyone else had a better idea first.
