COMMONWEALTH TO SUBSIDISE FREIGHTERS AWAY FROM THE GOTHIC SEA

Remuria will not be banning navigation through the Gothic Sea for Remurian-flagged vessels and companies, but will instead subsidise companies to abandon these trade routes in favour of different ones.

With the unstable results of the Scanlaw Divorce stirring up the global community, Remurian businesses are seeing less interest in investing into a trade route that has its terminus in the Tarusan Empire, whilst the rest of the northern sea route eastwards can be offset by other waterways.

The Commonwealth Navy will not be engaging in anti-piracy activities in the region and the long term goal is to zero out Remurian presence in the area.

REMURIANS COOL DOWN TO HUNTING PIRATES

Remurian enthusiasts have somewhat cooled down to the idea of hunting pirates in the Gothic Sea, given that it is now becoming a confrontation between the regular naval forces of local powers.

"Can't go against a battleship with a sniper rifle," one returning vigilante said as he was offboarding in Aurelia. "Unless you're a good sniper. And I am not a good sniper!"

News are streaming in that the pirates are Gutarike Navy, supported by Tarusa Navy sinking Hansa Navy while Frankish Navy promises to start doing bad things to all Navies soon. Soon. There are claims, denials, counter-claims, Tarusa denied sinking a Hansa submarine whilst Gutarike is silent on everything.

Given the circumstances, the Commonwealth has stated that the need to subsidise companies for reorienting the traffic away from the Gothic is decreasing.

"When a pirate aircraft carrier tails you, that's a good incentive to get out of the area and never return," one government spokesperson stated.

REMURIA WILL CONSIDER THE MERIDIAN UNION

The Commonwealth will consider carefully the offer by the Ebrian Prime Minister for Remuria to adhere to the Meridian Union, which would bring it in an even closer integration with regional neighbours.

The invitation follows the establishment of visa-free travel between Remuria, Radilo and the Rheinbund (the Three Rs, as they're collectively known), and it has been confirmed that a similar arrangement would be sought with Ebria in the future.

The news comes on the back of upheaval in the Gothic Sea, with the apparent center of oil & gas production being fast tracked to move to other countries and the potential dissolution of the Gothic Sea Pact looming over the horizon.

Further regional integration in the Meridian seems to be one logical outcome.

REMURIA DOESN'T RECOGNISE ANY OF THE EX-SCANLAW ENTITIES AS SCANLAW SUCCESSOR

The Commonwealth Government has confirmed that Remuria shall not be recognising any of the new nations as a successor to Scanlaw.

"We are now faced with the reality of three new states existing, however their post-delegationist ideology may try to convince them otherwise, and none of these states can be considered a single successor to the former Scanlaw. The Polar Divorce yielded three new entities on the geopolitical map, and this is something that we all have to accept as a new reality."

The Commonwealth shall be open to diplomatic relations with all three states over the mid tk long term, even if on the short term the Commonwealth will prefer to let the region tensions subside first before expanding its diplomatic presence in the Gothic Sea.
