REMURIAN COMMONWEALTH WILL NOT INVOLVE ITSELF INTO THE SCANLAW SHENANIGANS

A spokesperson for the Federal Government has indicated that the Remurian Commonwealth will not take a position on the game of musical chairs being played out in Scanlaw as several Arch-Presidents are pulling the bed covers one way or the other. The Federal Government has used a very polite and refined bureaucratic term that is untranslatable in commonfolk language, so the editors went with musical chairs.

The Remurian Commonwealth in her bilateral dealings with the constituent nations of the Scanlaw will continue to observe status quo.

As far as Scanlaw is concerned as a whole, whosever signature is on, that signature is on.

When asked whether it risked opening the pits of bureaucratic hell and a rush to put ink on paper from one Arch-President or the other, the spokesperson shrugged and commented that they'll make do with what they'll make do. A proper bureaucratic term was used, of course.

REMURIAN COMMONWEALTH WELCOMES SIGNS OF APPEASEMENT. HOPES FOR TANGIBLE PROGRESS

The Federal Government has welcomed the signs of appeasement between Tianlong and the Gothic Sea Pact, but is looking forward to more tangible results.

The world has seen sanctions being imposed, some of the sanctions being lifted, but the final outcome is yet to be seen. In the meantime, private actors need to navigate a patchwork of national unilateral decisions that are somewhat conplicating doing business.

The Federal Government's advice is for Remurian companies to continue doing a due diligence check on their exposure to sanctions regime and assess their decisions and prioritize their markets accordingly. The Economy, Trade and Development Ministry stands ready to provide advice and consultation, as are dozens of private consultancy firms that are cashing in the opportunities.

The Remurian Commonwealth continues to adopt a stance of non-involvement and advises against measures that hamper international trade and investment.

FEDERAL OFFICIAL GRILLED AFTER UNSAVOURY COMMENTS ABOUT CEOS OF BIG COMPANIES

A senior official from the Economy, Trade and Development Ministry was overheard complaining in a rude manner about the "whimpiness" of senior CEOs of leading companies because of the ongoing tensions around the world.

The official commented that the world has always been a tumultuous arena and if their companies managed to grow big in that sea of economic and political sharks, then they should have long ago gotten some teeth and should be biting and not whining

The official later apologized for the form in which he delivered the comments, but maintained he stood by the contents.

"The world is a competitive place and the road to success sometimes means crawling through indiscriminate mess. Get busy living, or get busy dying," he stated in a briefing.

FOREIGN AFFAIRS MINISTRY RELENTS TO USING ENGELS AS DEFAULT LANGUAGE

As is customary, the Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministry expects to receive correspondence in Engels or Modern Tiburan, else the default return correspondence would be conducted in... Classical Antique Tiburan.

Whilst it is customary for foreign affairs ministries around the world to goad everyone into using a specific language, threatening otherwise to use a local little known language in correspondence, the Commonwealth has historically been singled out as going maybe a bit a step too far, as Classical Antique Tiburan is a language seldom taken in modern classes.

Errare humanum est, generose puer sic itur ad astra, so better late than never, the Federal Foreign Affairs Ministry has relented to switch to using Engels as the default language in all return correspondence.

REMURIAN CHURCH WISHES THE BASILEUS WELL AND LONG LIFE, BUT SHALL NOT BE HOLDING SPECIAL PRAYERS

A spokesperson for His Holiness the Metropolitan Alessandro of Aurelia, Hierarch of the Remurian Church, an autocephalous church within the Orthodox communion, has advised in a statement that the Remurian Church will not be following the lead of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in setting special prayers for the health of the Pelasgian Emperor, all while the Church wished him well and long life.

"To answer the question of many, His August Majesty's mantle extends over the Patriarchates in Pelasgia, but not over the Metropolitan See of Remuria. Therefore, what the Pelasgian Churches are in their right to do is not something the Remurians are in an obligation to follow," a statement from the Remurian Church read.

On a history note, during the tumult of the dissolution of the Tiburan Empire and the breaking up of the unified Tiburan Church, the Remurian Church never got to follow the trend of local centralisation that other autocephalous churches adopted. The Remurian Church does not have its own Patriarch and the Metropolitan See is not fixed to an Archiepiscopal See, rather switches between the constituent Archbisphorics upon elections.

A majority of Remurians belong to the Remurian Church in the Orthodox tradition, with an important minority following the Tiburan Catholic tradition

Ecumenical Patriarchate of Propontis | Logothesion of the Drome

Τhe call to prayer issued by His All-Holiness only extended those Patriarches within the jurisdiction of the Sublime Throne of Propontis. Evidently, both for reasons of law and for reasons of tradition, the faithful of a foreign country (such as @Remuria) cannot be expected or required to pray for the health of the Basileus—though such prayers would certainly be welcome, if they were to be made.

His All-Holiness wishes to apologise for any confusion that the language of the original announcement might have caused following its direct translation to tongues other than that of the New Testament.

Signed and sealed,

Ἰωσὴφ Ἁγιοθεοδωρίτης
Ioseph Agiotheodorites

"RESEARCH" CLAIMS THAT START OF ACADEMIC YEAR AND END OF HOLIDAY SEASON SPARKS A LULL IN INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS

An article published by the Fourth Wall Research & Development Initiative claim that the September start of the academic year, coupled with the end of summer vacation periods, has actually provoked a lull in international activity, with major ongoing events coming to an abrupt stagnating pause and in want of further resolution.

The reasons for such a lull in international politics is not well understoos, but the 4-W RDI claims that such patterns have been observed over numerous years.

4-W RDI is a private venture based in Aurelia specialising on finding scientific proof for unconventional conceptions, or at least so the Initiative's leadership claims. One ongoing project of 4-W RDI is a study into the nature of simulated virtual, digital and cybernetic environments with one theory being that Europe exists within a virtual domain.

REMURIA CONSIDERS THE POTENTIAL OVERHAUL OF PELASGIA AN ENTIRELY INTERNAL MATTER AND HOPES ANY INTERNAL DISPUTES ARE SETTLED IN DIALOGUE

The Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministry has stated that as long as it is resolved through dialogue, whatever evolution Pelasgia goes through is a purely Pelasgian matter.

Private analysts have commented that Pelasgian rules of dynastic succession are quite peculiar and, in fact, amending the rules mid-game is part of the rules, not a violation. So altering the deal and praying that they are not altered further is entirely fine.

"It's quite a fluid system, really, and if you seize the initiative, you can achieve a lot," one expert on constitutional law stated. "Of course, it may as well go haywire, but we shall see how it goes!"

Other legal experts have indicated that the Pelasgian constitutional intricacies are not the most complicated in Europe.

"Well, we have states that pretend they are post-state, and nah, they're still states. Then, hey, we have our own Remuria, with out hereditary Dukes still being titular monarchs of our constituent Nations and we confuse the hell out of the world by having our Grand Duke elected through a weird combination of lottery and intellectual gauntlet," another expert states. "So we are definetely not putting ourselves as an example to follow."

The 4-W RDI has also weighed in on the matter, with one of their researchers saying that "somehow, that all sounds familiar, even if it's not, but it is."

SCANLAW DIVORCE TO BE THE MOST EXPENSIVE IN HISTORY

The announced divorce of Scanlaw is expected to become the most expensive divorce settlement in history, with the parties having to negotiate a wealth of issues, key of which will be the custody of the children, by which we mean energy.

The modalities of the proceedings are expected over the weeks and months as the settlement is finalised.

The world as we know it will go through a period of change. But the main question is whether thr former spouses will drift further apart, or remain friend-exes. Many wonder whether there was not adultere involved and who might that mysterious party be.

REMURIA YET AGAIN LEAVES PELASGIAN MATTERS TO PELASGIANS

The Commonwealth has congratulated Pelasgia on the passing of a new constitution and noted the peaceful nature of the transition of power from the Basileus to the Sebastokrator.

From thereon, as long as change happens in a peaceful way, Remuria is happy with howmany changes Pelasgians want to implement in their country per month.

REMURIA CONDEMNS USE OF FORCE IN PELASGIA

The Magnus Dux has issued a statement condemning the use of military force in Pelasgia against civilian protests and the loss of life that came as a result.

The Commonwealth calls on Imperial authorities to resolve all matters peacefully and through national dialogue, rather than by tanks and bayonets

REMURIA WILL WAIT BEFORE MAKING STATEMENTS ABOUT PELASGIA

Somehow right now not making statements seems like a good idea.

Some wonder why, while researchers at 4W-RDI have claimed that Pelasgia has in parallel realities gone through different versions of the current events, in one of them the Basileus abdicating, and in another reality the Basileus sent tanks to crush dissent. Of course, nobody takes them seriously, except for the science fiction fanfic crowd.

COMMONWEALTH IN SEPARATE DISCUSSIONS WITH NEIGHBORS ON VISA FREE ARRANGEMENTS

The Foreign Affairs Ministry has confirmed that progress was being made in talks with some of the Commonwealth's neighbours on visa-free arrangements with Radilo, Caria and Pelasgia, with the Rheinbund also in the works.

The extent of the different agreements will vary, and the Commonwealth has reiterated that the discussions are bilateral between Remuria and the neighbouring States, rather than aiming to create a multilateral arrangement, therefore no common areas are in the works.

VISA FREE ARRANGEMENTS WITH NEIGHBOURS TO BE IMPLEMENTED

The Commonwealth has signed the relevant visa free arrangements with the neighbouring countries of the Rheinbund, Radilo, Caria and Pelasgia. The four relevant treaties will now be ratified in accordance with national legislation of the signatories.

Once implemented, this would mean Remurian nationals would be able to drive from Augusta to Nauplia with much less hurdles than previously. Citizens of Radilo and Rheinbund would be able to commute through the Commonwealth with less hurdles as well.

The arrangements are expected to speed up border formalities, increase travel and trade between the Commonwealth and the neighbouring countries, increase student exchange and tourism.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS WRAP UP ACROSS REMURIA

The Remurian Church, of the Orthodox tradition, celebrates Christmas on the rightfully correct time set by the only true old style calendar, unlike all others who switched to the new calendar to avoid being confused all the time.

SCANLAW DIVORCE STARTS RILING UP THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Following the Scanlaw divorce, the former spouses seem to have begun upsetting the established neighborhood and friendship circles.

The Franks have backed Jydsken-Østveg as their best friend, while the Tarusans have gone with the Gutarike-Lethonia for best friends. In both cases, praise the Heavens for the copy-paste function.

Furthermore, the divorcing parties seem to be moving away into different houses, with Jydsken-Østveg considering moving into the CETO condo, whilst Gutarike wishes to stay with the GSP frathouse.

Whether that frathouse will endure, however, remains to be seen, as the Franks are apparently considering setting up their own frathouse with blackjack and unalignment.

Regardless, following a lull over the past months, the international arena is starting to liven up again.

INTEREST FROM REMURIAN ENTHUSIASTS TO GO PITATE HUNTING IN THE GOTHIC SEA

As news rise of piracy resurfacing in the Gothic Sea, Remurians have been hitting the gun shops to stock up on weaponry as many are enthusiastically looking forward to go pirate hunting.

"I mean, it's a great opportunity to kill people and not be jailed for it! Of course, a good opportunity to get killed, but hey, death and taxes are certain anyway!" One person states

Another person commented. "I just want to make things go boom."

The Commonwealth Government has advised that no state assets will be used in the Gothic Sea, and no support shall be provided to private citizens that wish to engage in naval vigilantism, but neither shall obstacles be raised.

"If you are a responsible, or even irresponsible adult, you do whatever tickled your fancy, but do not come crying back to the Commonwealth if you get your backside handed back to you," an official from the Government stated.
