The Government of the Grand Duchy of Lars greets its neighbors, wishing them prosperity and happiness.

Obbserved the necessarity to preserve the peace that characterizes our geographical area and intended to protect the well-being of citizens residing in the two kingdoms. The Grand Duchy of Lars would like to propose a non-aggression agreement to the Kingdom of Eiffelland.

Trusting that the agreement can only do good to the two kingdoms, we offer our best regards.

We find your proposal very good, however we want to ask you to include the construction of high-speed rail sections between our nations. A business that does not have a network of capable infrastructures is a dying business.

That is a very good idea. We agree to that.

We also want to point at the fact that the decision of the King of Justosia to massively invest into his armed forces and use the entire economy of Justosia for that put the country under the magnifying glasses of the international community. We fear that the situation around Justosia may heat up to a cascade of events resulting in hostilities. We consider it correct to maintain friendly relations with Justosia, but we advice you to build those relations in such a way that you can stay out in the case of war. Of course we cannot dictate your foreign politics, but we recommend that you stick to neutrality, and make sure that the countries around Lars respect that neutrality.

Justosia's government has a limited respect for fundamental human rights, this limits the interaction between our Grand Duchy and their Kingdom. We never refuse to accept advice from anyone, but as you mentioned, the Grand Duchy is independent in the management of its Foreign policy.

Lars and Eiffelland-Retalia Agreement

Article I
All High Contracting Parties are required and obligated to abstain from aggressive military attacks, actions or threats against each other.

Article II
Contracting Governments undertake to create a free trade zone for persons and commodities in their territories under their control.

Article III
The contracting countries undertake to eliminate customs duties on goods in transit between their two countries.

Article IV
The contracting countries undertake to realize exchange programs for students, Ph.D. candidates and scientists, and cultural exchange programs.

Article V
The Grand Duchy of Lars and the Kingdom of Eiffelland-Retalia, feeling the need to build an infrastructure capable of supporting commerce in the years to come. Both kingdoms are committed to building a high-speed rail link between the cities of Volturrie and Innsbruck.

Thank you for the agreement text. We have one comment: A spelling mistake. It is not Eiffellan-Retalia, but Eiffelland-Retalia. Sorry for that; I realise that I made that spelling mistake myself.

We have thoughts about more infrastructure projects, for instance extending the current motorways between Lars and Eiffelland-Retalia, but of course we can discuss that later.
