DOBUROV BRATVA
The "Northern Mafija" is a massive organized crime ring composed of almost every single ethnicity that makes up the NCU. The "ring" is little more than several hundred "bratvas" with varying power within the Northern Unions, but the most overwhelmingly powerful is the Doburov Bratva, a Wendish-Latgalian criminal gang with connections to many government officials. The Northern Mafija is not an organized entity - it simply refers to the organized crime of the Northern Cooperatives. This includes groups as polar as the NCU - many members are exclusively pro-government, many are pro-opposition and favor independence. Many accept anyone, many accept only certain ethnic groups. Crime flourishes in the stagnant Northern Cooperatives. There is almost a "second government" in many places, and a large amount of the NCU's GDP is fueled by the black market.

Accessing the Northern Black Market is very easy - all you need is a contact with connections to one of the more powerful Mafijas. Most of what the Northern Mafija sells is equipment from the Territorial Guard of the NCU, which in turn is a licensed production of Kadikistani equipment or native-made old equipment. ))
