RG howitzers fire into enemy positions in Treviso
Treviso| Borovanger | Report by Arnaud C. Thiel
The volunteer forces of the Revolutionary Guards have, aided by their fellow Serazinist comrades at arms, have commenced a massive assault on the Borovanger National Army's former stronghold Treviso. The assault commenced with a brutal assault by the aerial and artillery components of the Revolutionary Guards' 1st Legion, which knocked out critical enemy facilities such as radio towers and radar stations. The RG troops started their push into the actual limits of the city in the early hours of the morning of the 15th of April. With intense street by street fighting, the troops of the RG have cleared several obstacles set up by an increasingly hopeless defence. While, there is no clear figure, it is accepted generally that the BNA's contingent in Treviso is vastly inferior in numerical terms compared to the RG troops, which is proving to be their weakness in several areas.
Prior to the commencement of hostilities, the RG had issued general directives to civilians in the immediate area of the city to evacuate due to the risk posed by their presence in an impending active combat area. The medics of the RG have been treating some escaping civilians for heat and dehydration related illnesses and several humanitarian aid packages were given to the refugees. The RG has stated that it will make sure that the civilians who are being displaced find safety and assured the populace that measures would be taken to provide homes and facilities to them in the period of their dislocation. The news of the current troop surge through Treviso has been met with approval by the Politburo - the senior most body of authority in the Communist Party - which has stated that the RG will not compromise on its objectives.
The Commissariat of People's Deputies - which functions as the Government of Serenierre - has stated that it calls on the Revolutionary Guards to respect the rights of civilians and to ensure that no illegal actions take place on the battlefield. The CPD has, furthermore, stated that the People's Republic of Serenierre would allocate several hundred thousand Francs for humanitarian aid for the peoples of Saro Province, which has seen the brunt of fighting by the Revolutionary Guards. The CPD has stated that any money that is transferred from the Government in Villesen will be handled administered solely at the discretion of the Chief of the Serenien Liaison Office, operating in Saulot as the de-facto Embassy to the newly established, albeit not fully recognized, Worker's Republic of Borovanger.
