The Kingom of Varinia condemns in it's strongest words the declaration of war coming from the People's Republic of Serenierre and the subsequent invasion of Borovanger. It has been clear for the Varinian people and should have been clear for the whole world that communism is the biggest farce in the history of mankind. Never ever have been such great masses fooled by an ideology that promised salvation but in reality, not only did it bring stagnation, but politically it even downgraded the status of the people. While we understand the need to end the chaos of the war in Borovanger, the hopes of stability brought under the united front made by the royalists and prometheists have been shattered by the aggression of the People's Republic of Serenierre. If this invasion is to succeed, life quality in Borovanger will forever be lowered to near-feudal levels until the end of the Communist regime that will most surely be imposed, should this invasion succeed.

Let us be clear, communist states have proven that they fight for social and economical progress, but they brought nothing of that sort, more likely they even degenerated the notion of the state, denying the modern forms of statehood and electing a primitive form of statehood, that is dominated by warlords and militarism. This shows the degeneracy of how communism was imposed in all the states suffering from this malady.

CONFEDERATION OF BOROVANGER GETS BURGUNDIAN SUPPORT
Military thrashes Prometheist positions as intl. community backs Serenien intervention

The Government of the Grand Duchy of Bourgogne has become the second nation to recognize the establishment of the Confederation of Borovanger as the sole representative of the Borovangerese people. The extension of diplomatic recognition was welcomed by the Government of Serenierre which stated that the Chagny Government's policy was in the interests of Gallian peace and stability. The Government of Serenierre has further called upon other Gallian nation-states to recognize the Confederation of Borovanger as the sole legitimate government of the war torn country.

Diplomatic reactions, however, have been muted and almost hostile in other parts of the world. The Calidian People's Republic has refused to recognize the Confederation of Borovanger and continues to hold on to the delusions of the Worker's Republic of Borovanger, which has completely collapsed as an effective administrative organisation due to internal pressures. The royalist state of Varinia has also voiced its opposition to the Confederation. Countries further afield, such as Eiffelland, Nichstein, and Pelasgia have remained silent.

On the frontline in Borovanger, the Serenien Military continues to thrash the Prometheist enemy as it continues its advances. The forward thrust of the initial phase of the invasion of hostile territory has resulted in massive gains of territory and strategic locations all along the region of Greater Borovanger. Official statements from the Military have stated that the front has now reached the eastern bank of the Bergante River. The aggressive strategy adopted by the Serenien military has left all who are learned in military matters in awe of the military capabilities of the People's Republic.

Furthermore, it has been announced that Chief Commissar Mme. Elisabeth Martinique shall be visiting Saulot City in the immediate future to meet with the head of the interim government of Borovanger, Minister Munez, who has been valiantly attempting to fight the twin-pronged assault of Prometheist-Fascist scum and trying to re-establish administrative command over the territory of the Confederation, secured by the Serenien Revolutionary Guards, after the failures of the Macqueda regime, which disintegrated in the wake of political immaturity and infighting amongst the cadres of the Red League. Mme. Martinique's visit will be the highest profile visit to the newly established Confederation. It is expected that Mme. Martinique will reiterate the Villesen Government's commitment to the Borovangerese people's cause.

We caution our friends in Serenierre on their policy of total war. The senseless slaughter of civilians is neither prudent nor necessary. Furthermore, should this policy continue into the culturally Burgundian region, Bourgogne will be forced to lodge a formal and diplomatic protest. His Grace, the Grand Duke, wishes this war to end and a democratic Borovanger to return. However, a hollow shell of a state will help neither Bourgogne nor Serenierre nor the world.

Also we are very concerned about the indication of a total war in Borovanger. On the long term, such a scenario won't help the region, and may even destabilise it. A total war will generate nothing but hatred, and will only increase the support for Field Marshall Blum and Duke Ortega.

Following the conclusion of the 80th Congress of People's Deputies in Villesen, Madame Elisabeth Martinique has successfully been re-elected as the head of government of the People's Republic.

► Communist Party sends delegations to all brother Marxist states
The Politburo has authorised an effort to reach out to all Marxist states and organisations in an effort to strengthen the link between the various branches of Marxist ideology. The Chairman of the Politburo, M. Jacques Necker, has stated that the People's Republic sought to remain a forefront member of the revolutionary struggle.

► Arrierre provincial legislature calls for more powers
The legislature of the restive Province of Arrierre has called for greater powers and autonomy to be allotted to it in an effort to calm down burgeoning Burgo-nationalist sentiments amongst the populace. The eastern province has historically considered itself distinct from the rest of the country and has a tradition of strong political movements which seek to secede to the Grand Duchy of Bourgogne.

PREMIER MARTINIQUE INVITES LEADERSHIP OF GALLIA TO VILLESEN

The official spokesman of the Premier has informed the press that the Government of Serenierre has extended an invitation to its counterparts in Gallega, Vinedia, and Borovanger to visit Villesen for a summit aimed at furthering the bilateral ties between the two Gallian nations. Over the first term of the current administration, significant efforts have been made to enhance the status of ties with the three nations on the immediate periphery of the frontiers, particularly in the realm of trade and economic matters.

Statistics issued by the Central Reserve Bank (CRB) have shown that over the previous four years, trade has grown with each of the three countries on an average of 6%. As a leading policy of the current government, the Commissariat has been authorised by the Premier to pursue stronger trade and diplomatic links with these Gallian economies. Over the past year, it is said, the Government has been preparing the ground to enhance export and import quotas and reduce tariffs on the products of these three countries; which is an attractive proposal for the smaller economies of Gallia - as Serenierre ranks second only behind Bourgogne, in terms of the size of the economy.

MILITARY TESTS NEW MISSILE

The Military spokesman has announced that the Serenierre Military has introduced a new component to its strategic military capabilities, namely, an enhanced cruise missile which shall be utilised from sub-marine and naval platforms. The missile is said to be highly accurate and allows submarines to launch attacks on hostile vessels from a good distance. According to the press release, the missile shall be satellite guided and is a potent addition to the nation's SLBM arsenal.

The Government announced that no neighbouring power should feel threatened by this addition and that this new technology would assist the Serenien Navy in ensuring that mercantile waters remain free of any hostile blockages or blockades. The Government further stated that the Governments of Eiffelland and Nichstein had been warned in advance of the tests, which were held in the Retalian Sea.

SERENIEN GRANTS TO BOROVANGER AGRO-SECTOR SET TO RISE
Govt. announces drive to enhance import quota from Borovanger for staple crops

• The Commissariat for People's Deputies in Villesen has announced that the Government shall be pursuing an enhancement of agricultural imports from Borovanger in the upcoming year. The Government Commissars have presented several proposals for approval for the purposes of enhancing the grants and loans for the Borovanger agricultural sector that have been given to that country annually since the end of the Civil War and the establishment of the Confederation.
• Serenierre imports significant amounts of staple crops from its western neighbour. The Serenien involvement in the Boro agro-sector is further enhanced by the presence of the Thasisse and Orliac holding companies, both of which have created subsidiaries in the Confederation.

UNIVERSITY OF VILLESEN SCHOLARS CONFERENCE
Invitations extended to faculties of universities across the Gallo-Germanic region

• The oldest university in the country, established in Villesen in 1324, has announced the dates for its annual Scholars Conference, in which it invites faculty members from universities across the world. This year, the emphasis of the conference will be on professors from Gallia and Germania. It is interesting to note that invitations have been extended to the universities of Chagny, Trier, and Altburg.
  
• Last year, the conference had invited scholars from the communist states of the world and drew the ire of many rightwing organisations in the region, who deemed the conference a communist convention. The Martinique Government is rumoured to have initiated a more Gallian focus for the conference for this reason this year.

The Grand Duchy welcomes all initiatives aimed at promoting intra-Gallian entente. The Grand Duchy of Nichtstein, however, shall maintain a cautious approach towards travel to the People's Republic.

However, as no bans or interdictions are in place currently, the Grand Duchy of Nichtstein shall leave it upon the independent University of Altburg and its professorial staff to decide on attending and contributing to the conference. All travel to the People's Republic shall be taken at personal responsibility of the travelers.

The University of Altburg is pleased to accept the invitation of her scholarly sister the University of Villesen and shall consult internally with the Professorial Corps on the best participants.

Telora has no objection to principle to co-operating with partners across Europe in anti-smuggling patrols, and welcomes the opportunity to discuss this more widely with Serenierre, as well as other states. We would propose the creation of a ministerial working group between Telora and Serenierre to begin drawing the outlines of how such co-operation may be best organised between our two states.
